Hey, /g/. A friend recently told me about how these new coke machines reported data back to the facilities. Data such as popular flavorings for specific sodas, just to be able to appeal to a bigger market. Anyway, that would mean that these things have wifi enabled, no? In theory, would it be possible to make a botnet out of these things? I assume the passwords are hardcoded and the same across all machines, so it could be automated.
>>57901167
This is an example of how I don't mind a corporation getting my usage data.
>>57901385
Well, the usage data part doesn't matter to me. I just wanna discuss how shitty the security on this probably is. Getting a raspberry pi for Christmas, so I'll test then, but for now, I can only fantasize.

Nigga you realize they have a phone app that allows you to pre-load your mixes and then just load them off your phone into the machine right? You should probly start there
Network admin or Programmer? I am at a dilemma here. I have been taking one semester of Programming but I don't think it's right for me. Everything is just going right over my head.
Which do you think is less stressful? Anyone worked in the field have any input on this?
>>57901138
If you can't take first semester programming you sure as hell can't learn TCP/IP and all the protocols required to work as an admin.
Actual work is involved no matter what.
But programming is easy, idiot.
Why else would they pay you minimum wage to do it?
It's not like there's some kind of conspiracy in silicon valley to push wages down for what is actually extremely challenging intellectual labor
>>57901138
well if intro-level programming courses are going over your head you won't make much of a sysadmin either. Both jobs are stressful, if low stress is a priority you need to be in a different program.
hey, i found an old psu and opened it to get the fan. can i plug this directly to the motherboard?
bruh thats some dank LSD you got there
>>57901112
It looks like a two pin connector, where most of the fan headers on motherboards are 3 pin or 4 pin for RPM monitoring fans.
>>57901153
it is two pins, i assume positive and negative, but can I plug it anyway to the mobo? eventhough i loose fan control or ground
Is AI within 25 years feasible? If so what will it be used for? Augmenting jap sexbots??? Outsourcing customer service, tech support jobs?
Also what did she mean by this?
>>57901099
>Outsourcing customer service, tech support jobs
>with ai
Look, there are much easier and faster ways to create an AI that wants to see the world burn.
You have 10 seconds to explain why I shouldn't.
>>57901096
Go for it.
Because no SSD and GTX1060 sucks if you want to play in FHD on ultra graphics
>>57901096
Dont care. It's your choice
How hard it is to switch from Windows 10 to Linux?
I want to dualboot but im not sure if i'll go solus or debian
>>57901024
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called "Linux", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called "Linux" distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux.

Debian with KDE. KDE is the DE that most closely resembles Windows' DE.
If you don't want to waste resources on the DE then go with XFCE.
>>57901024
Is it bait?
You should go with Ubuntu imo: it's a ready-to-use, full-featured plug-and-play Linux distro aimed at beginners.
Our information comes from multiple sources. This usually means solid grounds to consider it as a fact. However we do not know if the event is a regional thing, or how many editors were invited. More importantly, this event is not public. It’s even less public than Polaris Tech Day, which still somehow leaked onto social media. >AMD is quite possibly showcasing first graphics cards equipped with VEGA graphics processor to the media. It might also be a briefing before public ZEN presentation, which is expected on December 13th. AMD could make a short demo of both.

AMDGPU-PRO 16.50 Rolls Out With Southern Islands Support, FreeSync
>The embargo has just expired on the Radeon Software Crimson ReLive Edition release, which had leaked out a few days ago elsewhere. While Crimson ReLive Edition is a big update for AMD Windows users, on the Linux side there's less to talk about but it's still a rather big release. I've been testing the AMDGPU-PRO 16.50 release the past two weeks and overall it's a sizable update for those using this hybrid AMD Linux driver.

Poodrones forgot that vega is expected 2019

how much do you get paid to invent shit
>>57901004
AMD handpicked who they told about this event, they were super secretive about it. Vega might be pretty big.

what other cool shit is worth checking out on it? yet to try cardboard or vr whatsoever. any decent gaming experience to be had, or just the coolest ways to use the technology.
Why not go out and get laid? I stopped watching porn at the age of 16.
play beer goggles
you put the camera on and try navigating the streets/ play darts/ vidya/etc.
works best if the camera is on the top of the phone and has some lag.

Go outside? Why?
Amazon has everything you need
Whats wrong with MSi products? I was planning to buy a MSi Z170 M7 for my new rig but was curious enough to see what was the hate with them. ASRock boards are fucking garbage, ASUS has literally shit customer service and worse RMA, Gigabyte boards break easily and had problems with them in the past when trying to OC.
Lets be honest /g/, MSi might shift their market to gaymers they're the only decent manufacturer around.
I've only had asus and msi Mobos. I love my msi. I've had three different ones. Currently have a z170 m5. My 6600k is at 4.8. No issues. Easy to oc, navigate. Ram xml profile easy to load. Don't listen to these saps
>>57900736
My MSI motherboard is 5 years old and still works perfect (P67-GD53)
They make pretty good stuff.
Never tried any other motherboards though other than the prebuilt OEM Dell Mobo I had before (which is still working with a Q6600 btw).
Had bad experience with Asus but with their Laptops
Gigabyte I've had a graphics card, it's also 4 years old now, it's OK. You can't OC it even by 1MHz or it'll crash though.
>>57900736
MSi is fine

I bought my sister some upgrades for her little athlon minecraft machine i made her
>bequiet shadowrock lp
Gonna use it passively, very easy with a 25w cpu
>xfx rx 460 passive
Replacing the 750ti in there, i want it for a project and the goal with her upgrades is silence
The build draws less than 150w so the little apvexia psu never even gets hot, fan was already removed from it before i installed it (yea i tested a lot to make sure)
>bequiet pure wings 2 120mn fan
With only one fan in the system, and a near silent one at that, only an ssd, and passive components, it should be a silent pc now
The stock cooler master fan, heatsink fan and 750ti fan makes too much noise for her liking
Let's assume that someone finally developed a brain-computer interface, but it requires a brain surgery to put wires into your brain.
Would you agree to go through such surgery to gain ability to control computer by thought alone and receiving audio and video directly into your consciousness?
Probably not

Have you guys taken the time to check your Male Programmer Privilege today?

Is there any OS that is safe from political "correct"ness?
Besides TempleOS, based Terry keeps that nigger-free.
>>57900683
I don't think any other Linux distro is quite this bad, so anything that isn't debian based.
Arch, Gentoo, Solus etc.
