So macs are shit, you say? Let's look at the Macbook pro 2013
>2-3Ghz processor
>SSD
>greater than 1080p screen
>a high-speed port (Thunderbolt)
>less than 4 pounds
seriously, if you can identify another laptop with all of those features that's cheaper, I'll eat a hat.
That shits though
>>57899351
It's not. No laptop under 800$ has all of those features. The only real downside is lack of a GPU.
>>57899365
Its shit get over it
I've got a laptop with no OS, I downloaded a windows 7 ultimate x64 torrent but I couldn't figure out what the fuck was going on, the files were different compared to when I did it in the past, I've got utorrent, winrar and power iso and a 64gb usb stick. the problem I'm having is that when I extract the torrent in winrar and open up the extracted folder, there are still winrar files inside and there's no files with the .iso icon, although there was a winrar logo file ending with .iso but when I extract that nothing comes of it.
Can I get a link to a trouble free download of windows 7? also is windows 10 free to just download from the microsoft website and put onto a usb or do you need to have windows 7/8/8.1 in the first place?
>>57899301
Enjoy your Russian botnet.
>>57899301
Also in power iso i tried to use the winrar logo .iso windows 7 file to create a bootable usb drive, it all finished ok but when I booted from the usb on the laptop nothing came of it.

What would your suggestion be then? You criticising, no help giving faggot.

After how many months will a solid pc (or parts within) lose any reasonable re-sale value?
My rigs always lagged behind the reasonable best by 3+ years. Now I finally have some disposable cash to build solid gaming computer - should I hope for some return down the road or just write the whole "investment" off already?
Are there any faggots who re-sell/buy used continually?
Alternatively just bash me for being impatient and irresponsible with my personal finances.
>pic unrelated
>>57899177
considering reselling isn't worth it.
You should just buy the pc you need, and not consider it as an investment that could return you some money in the future.
>>57899572
This.
>>57899177
If you really want to sell it, put your old pc up on craigslist for like 3/4 what it cost new and put it as a gaming computer. Doesn't really matter how good it is, depending on your location you'll probably get a quarter what you payed for it. There's a lot of idiots out there.
>>57899572
So its basically akin to ~400USD/year subscription for the ability to play the newest titles at high settings?
>Buy WD HDD
>Boot up Crystaldisk
>Bad
>Buy Seagate
>Bad within two years
>Replace it with a Hitachi
>Still working after 5 years
>anecdotes

Alright
Is this the new 'Japan is so wacky xDD' thread?
> only wants a decent and free crossplatform sync service
> mega held by some chinese turds
> google too busy fapping to get a usable linux app done
> dropbox meme
What do /g/? Is self hosting the only way?
Self-hosting has been the only way son
>>57899023
I'm currently using mega and I have no problem with it.
There are some GDrive clients going around the interwebs, but haven't tried any of them
>>57899023
rsync over sftp
Let's discuss this text editor.
Atom.io is so hated or so loved
do you hate or love it and why?
also what is your current text editor (needed to see from what perspective your opinion comes)
fuck off with your gay ass editor
>>57899010
old electron version uncompatible to the one in the arch repos.
I just use kate as my text editor, and vscode for the c#, dotnetcore thing
>>57899010
don't care for it, electron is bloat and js is cancer
sublime text 2 & visual studio 2015
What makes a quality motherboard, /g/? What sets a "good" motherboard apart from a "bad" one?
>>57898770
Military-grade japanese solid-state capacitors
Good motherboards dont have heatsinks shaped like handguns for starters
>>57898770
Please tell me that gun is not a part of the motherboard
What is this botnet doing to my HDD ?
Why do I get 100% under botnet, but 1/2% under loonix ?
>inb4 2016 no ssd
thats assault encryption at work back up your shit immidiately using gnu/linux
>>57898750

2. stupid questions thread exists for a goddamn reason
>>57898766

Seems to be updating atm, but even when it's not every operation bumps hdd usage to 100%
Does /g use any alcohol related apps or technology in general? We are all alcoholics, any tech for a smoother ride-?
No. I don't drink anymore.
My friend loves using Untapped. It's like Foursquare for beer.
>>57898702
>We are all alcoholics
That's why I quit drinking
>invented by a µTorrent dev so it'll always be inferior to µTorrent
>STALLED everywhere
Why do you libcucks use anything based on this shitware? Use a proper client like Transmission, Vuze, µTorrent, Tixati or whatever instead of this gimpware
>>57898687
transmission is really good, im tired of everyone recommending qbittorrent myself, you cant check off items from a list to download without it downloading a piece of the file anyways yet reserving space for the whole file
>>57899076
you could do it on qbittorrent too. just go to settins and turn on the pre-allocate thing
>not using deluged+deluge-web
How scammed did I just get?
literally no idea what you're talking about except that you spend $200 and sent it to a vendor with practically no history.
A fool and his money are easily parted.
>>57898619
>torts4sale
what did they mean by this

I'm concerned this could end up hurting VP9 in H.265/HEVC's favor more than hurting AMD.
OCing virgin here
Planning on getting a ASRock Z170 Gaming K4/D3 motherboard, pushing a i5-6600k onto it and OCing it.
Thing is, the motherboard unlike standard skylakes uses DDR3 memory. How much room for OCing would i have taking all of this to account?
The memory shouldn't really be a factor you're changing the cpu multiplier not the blck. It comes down to cpu cooling, vrm and mobo cooling, cpu quality. Can probably hit 4.5 to 4.7 at under 1.4v. That's the range for most all of skylake
>>57898660
Thanks for the tip
Why not just get one with DDR4?
