I'm not Kevin Rose you fucker. Kevin is obviously asleep and there is no way i'd even post here.
Last I heard he quit google ventures and now has a small team of app devs and makes iPhone apps hoping one of them goes viral and makes billions
How can I make it so my adblocker blocks youtube videos and just leaves the ads? Youtube videos are all terrible.
In fact, nevermind, I'll just stop going to youtube.

Scour the technology board of a site ostensibly made for the purposes of discussing Japanese animals to look for positive posts about the consumer electronics and software company Apple, to which I reply; 't. mactoddler'.
Why does /g/ hates js?
Because if they learn it they have no excuse to not have a job.
It's nonfree

what do you mean?
i need to upgrade ram from 8gb to 16gb (want to play bf1 maxed out, which isnt possible with 8gb)
i have this one atm F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL, over a year old, got it for like 40 euros back then.
now the same kit is 60.
so i wondered if i shouldnt just upgrade to ddr4 too
while looking around i discovered that ddr3 is the price as ddr4 whats this shit /g/ for 8gb ddr3 1600 i pay 60 bucks and for 8gb ddr4 3000 i also pay 60 bucks
usually i would just be happy and go with ddr4 but im kinda short now and thought i could upgrade with only 40 bucks buying the same kit again and not buying a new 16gb kit for 110-120
why is ddr3 the same price as ddr4?
does ddr4 kinda suck and everybody wants ddr3? i dont get it
>>58057153
just get ddr4
>>58057187
i eventually will because its the same pricetag but how comes?

PLEASE go back to /v/ and learn to google your retarded questions
we get like a million threads a day from retards like you who are too dumb or lazy to figure out basic stuff like this
Beyond video editing, gaming and other major tasks, what is the actual fucking need of a pc/laptop?
I just got a new android phone and put in a 256gb microsd, that's enough for most things, you can just stream your music and download the other stuff, you can watch films on its 1080p ips screen, you can sort all the files you would have on your comp on your phones microsd, and two factor authentication is even easier because the sim is right there
What is the actually point in using a laptop?
When did you wake up and SMELL the coffee?
>1336x768
laptops are just PC's to me. my question is who tf uses desktops unless you are a video editing/gaming/major tasks?
Laptops are cheap and powerful enough to be your main computer if you don't need a "rig"
>>58057149
I like having a physical keyboard, and it allows me to surf the web and shitpost, as well as make the occasional purchase, much easier than using my smartphone. Considering I spend 300 bucks on my laptop, and it lasts 6-10 years, I don't really see the issue.
My phone is more for checking email/bank account on the fly, or occasionally playing Plague Inc while I wait for an appointment or something.

>tfw you go to install TAILS and discover all your drives are PNY and SanDisk
???
do they have something on them that checks for tails, or a known hardware backdoor?
>>58057038
SanDisk copped out and made the drives a fixed disk for Windows 8 release, meaning it's not "removable" so you have to remove "live-media=removable"
>>58057038
and PNY can't handle the constant writing and loading.
Where do I get the full version of this shit program for free? Checked piratebay but it seems the cracked versions are bullshit. The limitation of only being able to have one 'sandbox' is useless.
Are there any better programs that can do the same thing?
Why not just buy the full version? Then you're not going to get a rootkit by installing deliberately-broken versions of software designed to protect your PC :)

Why is /g/ so tsundere with python? Its a powerful language for those that need things done quickly AND well. Look at django, PIL, requests, etc.
Personally I dislike it because new versions have either bad or no backward compatibility. Having more than one python binary installed really rattles my rollies.
It's more susceptible to bad coders
I work with python. While I don't love or hate the language, my team is filled with hipster and morons who cannot argue on basic conventions.
4 space indent is not hard you fucking twats, nor is underscoring variables
But these morons and their meme editors always fuck it up and make debugging an impossibly gigantic pain in my ass
>>58056916
You can use /usr/bin/env python or python3 you know
>GAMING PCs
Macfag here, my iMac is totally fucked up and I'm tired of Apple products in general.
I work as a photographer and videographer and need something fast and reliable too work on, I am looking at pre built gaming PCs like the Alienware shit, Acer Predator etc
>QUESTION
HOW MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE IS BUILDING YOURSELF?
I am basically retarded and would have trouble building my own, I am also paranoid about paying a mum and dads PC shop to purchase a piece of shot the I have nothing but trouble with.
What do? I know one guy that builds PCs who would help for free.. But is it really more affordable?
Take the Acer predator, how much cheaper would it be to build something equivalent?
>>58056879
>HOW MUCH MORE AFFORDABLE IS BUILDING YOURSELF?
it isn't. you can easily find prebuilts which have the same or better performance but are cheaper and come with windows
>>58056895
>come with windows
I need macOS
>>58056895
>I'm fine with having shit motherboards, RAM, and PSUs
>>58056879
You'll save a hundred bux or so most times, and get much better quality components. Especially than Acer.
Then again you're the sort of person who actually bought a Mac so you may be irredeemably retarded.
PCs are easy to build, look at the zillions of YouTube videos around. If you're still frightened just buy a prebuilt since you're used to wasting your money on crap components anyway for the sake of "peace of mind."
