The 490 should be 1440p no sweat if not a 3-4k capable card

This is the big problem with all these gpus; so many of them only have like 10-15% performance differences yet that's not enough to jump up in resolution

Like my 980ti can max any game at 1440p and can really even push 3k on the most demanding games. Without vsync I can even get like 48fps average on the Witcher 3 at 4k.

So from there, I need a card that's at least twice as powerful to get the same caliber of performance but at 4k. If I want every game to perform at 4k the way the 980ti performs at 1440p, I legitimately need something almost 2.5x as powerful

Getting a card that only has like a 30% increase will only mean that I can now play every game at 3k and average 52 fps at 4k. Whoopdie fucking doo

GDDR5 is a huge limiting factor at the moment for such resolutions.

This is why HBM stacks are being pushed. We will soon see if they can make 4k realistic.
