everyone says that VR needs a sustained 90+ fps to feel the sense of "presence"
4K VR won't get here until GPUs have the performance to run it. how many years will it take for GPUs to be able to run 4K games at 90+ fps? will next gen (e.g. Nvidia's Volta) get there, or will we have to wait 4 or 5 years?

Games just need to optimize their field of view/render displays accordingly to the visual acuity of the human eye.
This means not rendering 100% of the screen 100%. Only the center of the screen gets real 100% resolution/rendering, the sides get 50-80% rendering/res to ease the GPU.

Scala vs Haskell.
Last job was analytics, current job is data engineering. I like that my current job is only data-engineer-in-name since I'm doing both machine learning work and shitty wrangling work - I like to switch it up often.
Deep down I don't feel like I'm competent enough for a legit data scientist job, even though I may be. On another point, I don't know Scala nor do I really want to learn it.
Currently I'm god-tier on the python analytics stack, know just a hint of Clojure from a short week of obsessive learning, and now I realize that Clojure isn't going to be fun because it's so reliant on Java for big-boy tools.
I'm now eyeing Haskell. Problem is that there are literally 0 results when I search "Haskell" as a keyword on Glassdoor in my city (population over 10mil in America).
I want to believe. What should I do /g/? What do your elf eyes see?

My best suggestion? Make a list of senior developers of different companies in your city and send out some emails asking for advice. Some of them will be willing to help. Their advice will be much more useful than that of random strangers.

Could someone help me out a little bit with understanding PCI-E operating modes?
From what I understand by looking at the motherboard specs (pic related) is that if I have 3 expansion cards installed on all three x16 slots, then slots 1 and 4 will only get x8 bandwidth while slot 3 will use x16?
I was going to install my GPU on slot 1, but I have other expansion cards as well, so if I install them, does that mean the GPU will be limited to x8 unless I move it to slot 3?
My brain is full of fuck /g/, help me out here

I really screwed up fellas. I play Pokemon Go, but I use a mockGPS app.
I recently lost my phone, a Galaxy 7. I went to the find my phone app Samsung has, and guess what.... it has my phone showing up where i put my mock GPS.
TL;DR lost my phone, app shows it where I have the location mocked. Any ideas on how to find it now?

I've been embedding and reading XMP metadata in PNG, JPEG, GIF, and SVG. Interestingly (at least to me), it was easier to do this with GIF than JPEG. For those who don't know, JPEG is a giant fucky mess and can burn in a fucking fire.
PNG has the best spec I've seen out of all of them. I wonder how FLIF is going to turn out in the end, since they're thinking of emulating PNG in a lot of things.

I just got my third monitor to complete my master pc race rig, but my gtx480 doesn't support three displays (dispite having three ports)
What kind of video card should I get to supplement this one? Just something ultra cheap to get the job done? I probably wont even use the third monitor for gaming.
