How do I (video editor) get into RAID on as low a budget as possible?
What are the ins and outs., and what do I need to know?
How much storage do you need? How fast do you need to move data?
>>62348670
probably around 4TB should be enough
Just for storing it it doesn't need to be exceedingly fast, but it's good to have speed for editing
>>62348685
Just get RAID1 with a couple buffering SSD. Keeps it available well enough and doesent cost a fortune. Remember that a raid IS NOT a backup, if you care about your data survivability get a backup plan.
Is this shit a meme or not?
>>62348649
Currently, yes.
yup, it does have a lot of shills though
>>62348649
I was using it for a good month or so, then got wind to retry vivaldi, so I'm currently using that for a bit to test the waters
>Brave is faster
>Vivaldi is more customizable
>Chrome feels slower than them both
when did you build your first computer?
I never built a computer from scratch. Only replaced components.
>>62348602
2008
real late to the party, but prior to that I wasn't particularly interested in PC games. I played nothing but console games during the 90's and early 00's.

Made dimensional criteria mistakes that will no going to happen again...
Do you cover your phone's cameras and microphone when they're not in use?
Um, no? How much of an autistic paranoia do I need to have to do such thing?
>>62348558
camera has a lenscap, yes.
As long as you're connected to the internet they can still spy on you. Only way to be safe is airplane mode.
Why is Vega behind in Games when it has much higher computer performance?
Are AMDs drivers that crappy or is limiting NVIDIA their compute performance in order not to cannibalize Tesla?
Crap drivers.
>>62348525
So on Linux, Vega might actually be faster eventually than on Windows and even Nvidia?
>>62348509
>Why is Vega behind in Games when it has much higher computer performance?
Assuming you mean compute performance, this is the way it's always been. It's due a whole lot of different factors but the short version is that they're fundamentally different approaches.
Welcome to /lgbt/ Libreboot is the Greatest BIOS Thread!
Beginners feel free to ask questions!
More info about the project:

Helpful resources:
Flashing the X60 internally (easy)

Flashing the X200/T400 externally (advanced)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyxgYnOcsTw
So /g/ why haven't you installed the only BIOS that actually respects your freedom, privacy, and human rights by using no proprietary firmware and disables the Intel (NSA backdoor) ME?
>inb4 the dev is a tranny and drama queen
That's a red herring and has no bearing on the project
The dispute with GNU was resolved several months ago

>inb4 no compatible system
You can literally get a ThinkPad X200 for $50 on ebay
>inb4 no beaglebone/pi for external flashing
You can get an X60 for internal flashing or use a Libreboot flashing service (about $50) on ebay for X200/T400
>inb4 that hardware is ancient
An X200 will pretty much do anything besides "muh gaymin" plus there are some descent mobo's that support Libreboot for an Intel or AMD desktop system (see below)
Compatible Laptops/Boards:
Server boards: Asus KFSN4-DRE and Asus KGPE-D16
Desktop boards: Asus KCMA-D8, Intel D510MO, Gigabyte GA-G41M-ES2L, and Apple iMac 5,2
Laptops: Asus Chromebook C201, Lenovo ThinkPad X60/X60s, Lenovo ThinkPad X60 Tablet, Lenovo ThinkPad T60 (some exceptions), Lenovo ThinkPad X200, Lenovo ThinkPad R400, Lenovo ThinkPad T400, Lenovo ThinkPad T500, Apple MacBook 1.1, and Apple MacBook 2.1

What is it like to have a UHD 4K display resolution? What do applications look like in it now?
>>62348331
absolutely amazing
Shitty DESU.
Unless you're using 1:1 pixels, no scaling, then you don't get any of the advantages of a 4k res. And you need like at least a 32'' monitor so your text don't look microscopic, but 32'' monitor is very uncomfortable for desk use.
>>62348331
Most of the applications I use look just fine. Everything is super crisp with lots of desktop space, all in all it's pretty comfy.
Many programmers hold views against GMO food and nuclear energy. Many also deny man-made climate change.
Why are programmers the only anti-science STEM people?
python programmers are normie enough for humor

It's mostly down to politics. Anti-GMO and nuclear policies are a leftist thing, while climate change denialism is libertarian and conservative thing.
Im looking for Radio Shack TRS-80 high resolution photographs of the boards and exterior. (or any simmilar late 70s - 80s pc) Is there a website where I could find something like that?

What are some good programs to remove the abnormal behavior of Windows 10? By abnormal I mean shit performance caused by 2000 background threads that are busy all the time fucking up my harddrive and uploading every bit of info to Microsoft? I can't run shit like this. Even Skype, browsers and Steam are slow AF. I have 7700K, this level of shit performance is unacceptable.
OOSU
You literally can't.

Still looks pretty cool to me, bro.

Pretty sure you wouldn't show one off in your home.
>>62348074
Depends on the room, if it fits with the design, I would.
At one university, 55% of students in CSC 115 (Introduction to Programming) fail the class. Why do so many students fail the introductory course to programming?
>>62347825
They're brainlets.
>>62347825
In the intro class I took the problem was shitty teachers. They didn't explain much in the lectures and openly said they would not answer questions if you were having g trouble completing HW. So if an assignment required you to model a physics concept and you didn't have much experience with physics you were SOL. Oh and you weren't supposed to ask your friends for help either because that would be cheating.
Actually fail finals or give up on CS because it's boring meme?

Really? From what I've heard iPhone apps make more money than Android.
>>62347608
>hurr hurr I'm going to be the next Mark Zuckerberg
>hurr hurr my app will be revolutionary
>Why am I poor
It's an oversaturated market; anyone who thinks they are the next big thing in app building either has the backing of millionaires or is delusional.
>>62347651
There are more Android users than there are iPhone users, but they're all pajeet street shitters. All the iPhone users actually shell out their hard earned cash for Apple's ridiculous prices, and are therefore more inclined to pay for apps. Also, Apple's done a very good job of stopping app piracy, while on Android, all you need to do is Google for the .apk...
>>62347659
His app was a pretty shitty idea anyway. He was trying to compete with Uber, Lyft etc. People only downloaded it out of sympathy, unfortunately.

It has a few advantages, also you are able to use built in stereo mix to capture audio. You can't with WIndows' built-in driver. It also has other features, such as system-wide equalizer, an ability to switch between headphones output and line-out on the same jack for laptops, etc..
