>Satellite Internet (SI) is a new technology that will allow travelers travelling overseas or in-planes to gain access to the Internet.
>SI works by using a space network of satellites that surrounds the whole earth, connected to each others using fiber optic cables, and have coverage areas that covers the whole earth without frequency interference
This man is either insane or a genius.
>letting all the data in satellites where space aliens can just see everything

I thought they are already something like this? I clearly remember when I used satellite internet on Cruise ship.

Wait what the fuck is SVP?
I just randomly heard about it and apparently can make movies appear 60 or even 120 fps. Is it legit? What can /g/ tell me about it? What are the drawbacks?
example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wjb6CSe4708 [Embed]
>>62350539
Interpolation done right (ie not the hardware shit they put in modern tvs).
Though it's still shit for movies (artifacts) I recommend it for animu.
>>62350539
Drawbacks:
>articulating like on the credit text there
>minor distortions on some shapes sometimes
>can't handle it the entire scene moves very erratically
>very high CPU usage
Some people say that the SVP 60FPS doesn't look "natural" compared to true 60FPS video. I think they're either 30FPS tardlets or they're talking about live-action stuff.
For animation, interpolation between keyframes is consistent with how it's actually made so the results are often very good, minus the artifacting of course.
will mpv devs ever implement something as smooth as svp

at this point with all the sophistication that we have, why no one builds an editor with a parser and the code you write can be what ever meme language you want but the end result will be a high optimized code with very abstract expressions ready to be used with LLVM?
So Oracle pajeets are more numerous than Microsoft pajeets?
Thank you, this will be important when I end up as a manager.

codemonkeys are basically slaves to us
that's why a degree in Business management is way better than a CS degree
>docker is not open source
>many developers are pushing it
If something isn't open source it's botnet and if it's open source it's probably botnet anyway
>>62350125
>developers
Found your problem right there, m8.
Docker used to be open source, which is why developers used to push it. The open source version of modern Docker is called Moby.

What's the thinkpad of gpu-containing laptops? I'm selling my gaming desktop and want to replace it with a laptop, but all the "gaming" laptops I can find are dumb as fuck, and google and websites are so assfucked with advertising and paid promotion that they are absolutely useless. Is there any way I can get a laptop with a GPU with out dropping 2k for some gay ass razer?

Thinkpad P series

Those razer laptops are actually fairly normal looking and not too overpriced.

Leave your autism at the door. Let's get one of these threads going.
Do you prefer PC speakers or studio monitors?
I use a pair of Polk bookshelf speakers.
i use these:
http://www.neumann-kh-line.com/neumann-kh/home_en.nsf/root/prof-monitoring_studio-monitors_nearfield-monitors_KH120A
also, your monitors probably sound like shit if you just put on them on your desk and don't raise them to ear level

Didn't find any pc gore/cringe thread while searching the catalog. Why don't we start one then? Dumping my own rig.

I removed the side cover because when I was playing WoT the whole thing was burning hot since it's summer and I have no fans as you can see. The front cover was removed because the tower is 15 years old and the power on button was getting stuck inside every time I wanted to turn the pc on, resulting in a immediate shut down of the pc.

Never gets old.

gentoo is bloated
That's what happens when you just blindly follow a guide to install Gentoo instead of actually knowing what you are doing.
>he fell for the meme
do you not know what htop is?
Run it, and it will show you what exactly is using the memory. You will see what other shit you installed and autostarted.

Hey /g/ not a regular browser but I'd love insight from regulars here.
If I have a teenager that seems to like the idea of coding what resources are there to get him on the right track? Are there some languages that are "better" than others? In terms of ROI on learning them and so forth.
Thanks for any insight.
let them install gentoo
>>62349537
>get him on the right track
Keep him away from computers, spend time with him, enroll him in sports, get him involved in your local church and pray he meets a nice young lady.
This is your best course of action at this point. Programming is a gateway into other degenerate behaviour like watching anime, writing fan fiction, and other furry activities.
