I'm trying so hard to maintain proper form but I feel it slip sometimes. I don't want to die.
so don't up the weight?
if you can't maintain the form on anything but a PR, then you clearly can't do that weight and need to scale down.
Have you tried recording yourself and comparing yourself to videos of other people? Asked any local powerlifters? Asked in the /plg/ thread?
It's really the only way you'll get any wiser.
How many calories do I burn per day?

We all have problems friend-o. Keel the faith.

Start with Jefferson squats. You're not getting as much whole-body involvement but it'll give you a better base (literally) to begin with.

squats and deadlifts fucking sucked today
I was planning on squatting 235 today, ended up for some reason failing in the hole even tho i knew i had more in me. Mentally i just felt so fucked i wasnt thinking at all, failing all the cues. my brain just felt fried. i feel like shit, i feel like i wasted my workout today
just dropped the weight and continued, still feeling like shit. which ended up ultimately ruining my deadlifts
shit shit shit, all shit. man i feel like shit
Jesus calm down, it's not that big of a deal. Just get back in there next time and do it, you weird depressed freak.

Just b urself OP
Didn't get to workout last week cause of family and eating shit all weekend. Today could barely lift the weights I could easily do last week. Gonna take it easy and deload a bit
/fit/ please help. I've been doing starting strength for like 3 month and I can only bench 95 fucking pounds after constant resets. What do I do to improve. All my other lifts have gone up, my press is fine, my squat is great, my deadlift is solid. Why won't my fucking bench just go up? How do I increase it?
>>41775835
are you touching chest?
>>41775835
How is your form/ technique? If you've only been lifting 3 months and you're doing that poorly on just bench, you probably have a bad set up.
bench form is fucking hard, look up videos on youtube

Some interesting fitness related statistics. These are for the US.
>National average of pic related: 35.7% overweight
>National average of obese people (not including overweight): 28.9%
>Only 35.4% of people are below ~20 BMI, of these some may still have unhealthy levels of bf%
>Number of gym memberships in the US: 58 million
>Percent of people with memberships that actually go to the gym: 33%
>Average gym membership cost: $58 monthly
>Average gym retention length (i.e when do people quit?): 5 months
>Average age of gym-goers: 40
>Average income of gym-goers: $75k
>Those who pay per visit, go more often then those with monthly memberships
>Those who quit often do so because of expense or inconvenience of location rather than just laziness
>30% of gym-goers admit going only to socialize instead of exercise
Assuming that a person needs more than 5 months to get fit (not necessarily the case, but we can also make the argument that you'll need more than 5 months to *remain* fit, or to permanently ingrain the habit) he should:
>Choose a gym for convenience and cost over everything else (obvious)
>Pay per visit instead of a monthly plan
>Keep socializing to a minimum and choose partners that are serious about training
>Attend regularly for more than 5 months
>If you live in the south, be extra vigilant
Alternatively, a home gym (or bodyweight exercises) might be a better option, since high convenience and low cost (or no cost for bodyweight) could lead to greater consistency and better results in the long run. Bodyweight vs. lifting is another matter entirely though.
Finally, given that 2/3 of people are either overweight or obese, getting down to low double digit bf% probably puts you in the top 10-15% of the population, maybe even top 5% in terms of fitness.
So in short: we're all gonna make it and post some stats.

Tbh im just waiting for the day that America becomes so fucking obese that theyll have fitness competition at malls to see who can do a pullup, and I will get that Tillyd giftcard senpai
>>41775730
I think obesity has a great deal to do with income.
Often poor people are fat. Why?
Government subsidizes the beef industry, creating cheap and unhealthy fast food, which poor people consume.
My college is very expensive, and we have mostly middle and upper class, so obesity is much less prevalent. Kinda nice, many fat people suck.

I think the issue is quite complex actually and part of it has a great deal to do with culture. For instance, poor Asians still tend to be quite healthy vs. poor people of other demographics.
I think the unifying constant might just be processed food as you said, but not only because its cheap, but because it's convenient. Most Asian households for example, subsist on homecooked meals--which can be cheaper than fast food (and generally is, if you buy staples in bulk) but requires someone to actually take the time to prepare it (usually the mother/grandmother etc.)
Maybe women should stay in the kitchen after all, kek.
Any good routines that have NOTHING to do with feet?
I ask this because I broke a toe, and can't do anything that puts strain on my foot whatsoever.

Does /fit/ know how to get a thicker abdomen? Do I have to nonstop workout my obliques?
Its a genetic thing. Unless you have a thick waist, its not achievable.
