Hey /fit/
so I've never really been to this board before, let alone posted here, but I have recently realised that I've had a weight problem. I am underweight with a BMI of around 15 or 16. These past couple months I've been trying to figure out why this could be. Whenever I eat out with friends or family, I'm always the one that eats the most, and I always eat a lot of food and have several meals every day. I am not very physically active, apart from walking my dog for 30 minutes to an hour every day, and I am suspecting that may be the problem, but I am still not burning a lot of calories.
I am asking this here because the only real advice I could find for my situation in the Begginer's Health and Fitness Guide.

>>
OP here, forgot to ask my question lol
so what could the problem be?
>>
1. Calculate TDEE
2. Consume more calories than this
3. Gain weight

If you're not reaching stage 3, then repeat step 2 with more emphasis. If that still doesn't work, see a doctor.

Also, post fucking stats in OP

Does anyone here have any experience in lifting with IBS? I used to lift but got out of it about a year ago and in the meantime I developed moderately bad IBS. It basically prevents me from drinking milk at all (sorry mr rippedtoe) as well as some other stuff that I'm trying to figure out. Have any other /fit/izens with IBS managed to make it? What are your diets like?

Yes, I have a horrendous case of it and a lot of stuf I have to do to manage it. But every case is different so that won't help you.

The wisdom I can give you is that yours is going to be unlike anyone else's, and what works for you may not work for anyone else and vice versa. Stay safe but keep an open mind and trust that if you're putting in legitimate effort its going to pay off eventually, even if it pays off differently.

Good luck.
>>
I get IBS when I don't workout and lose gains. I quit lifting for 2 years and developed it. I became overweight and stopped exercising. I believe my IBS is accompanied with anxiety. Exercising balances my body out so I started again last week.

'IBS' is a catch-all term that doctors use for when your digestion is fucked up, but they have no idea why (and can't be bothered to figure it out or aren't good enough at what they do to figure it out). Even gastroenterologists usually can't be bothered.

Try eliminating foods from your diet that aren't 'organically' grown, especially WHEAT. The reason why isn't that 'organic' is anything magical or shit like that, it *is* because non-organic foods (especially WHEAT) are literally drenched in Roundup (herbicide, contains GLYPHOSATE, which is toxic as fuck), there's residue of it that persists even after processing and baking, and it will fuck you up especially if you're sensitive to it. BTW they also do this with corn, oats, beans, and I hear sugar cane, too. It's done just before harvest because somehow it increases the net yield. Try that for a month and see if things improve.

So on Friday I maxed out my bench (215lbs) and hardly felt a thing in my pecs the next day, but on Sunday I did push-ups and today I'm feeling way more in my pecs. I did cable flyes after both but the difference is very noticeable and my serratus is finally feeling it too.
What the hell is this? What's the point of bench if I don't feel it in my chest?

Of fucking course it works your fucking core and help you build muscles in that region. Yet you need ab work anyway to strenghten it likewise the lower and mid back area as an antagonist muscle

How many ways do you train your shoulders?
(Apart from being involved in other compound lifts?)

I counted 5 positions for the front delt:
1. Front raises
2. Chest flyes
3.Laying on your back as a dumbbell-bench, but lowering your arm, straight to your hip, and back up again.
4. Laying on your stomach and raising the weight with straight arm, so it is in front of /above your head. Like an OHP with straight arms, but laying down.
5. Same motion as a chest-fly but your body is on its side, so the squeeze happen when the weight is infront of you, at its heaviest.

Rear-Delts i counted also 5.
1. Reardelt flys/raises
2. Laying on your side with the weight mocing from in-front of you, to over you with straight arms (same motion as rear-delt fly/raise)
3.Stiff armed row, were you are leaned forward
and move the weight to your hip with elbows close to the body with straight arms.
4. Same motion as skull-crushers but emphasis on having straight arms, preferable performed upside-down.
5. Skull-crushers while on your back.

Side delts just two?
1. Side raises
2. Laying on your side lowering the weight with a straight arm to your hip, or slightly in front of the hip.

What variations do you do and how often?
What rep-ranges? What made them pop?

Try a protein sparing modified fast.

Fastest way to lose fat while maintaining most of your muscle.

Lyle McDonald has a book on it you can read.

Currently 2 weeks in and have lost 14 pounds with 2 days of lifting and 0 Cardio besides an active job.

Can an ass like this be saved by squats, or is it doomed because of asian genes?

How fast do you gain muscle weight? As in, as you acquire muscle mass how will your total body weight increase? I asked google but I am just getting "how fast muscles grow" results.

Why bother with Google when the answer is explicitly stated in the sticky?

Answer these questions:

1. how does weight loss/ weight gain work
2. what is tdee
3. how do muscles get bigger/stronger
4. what does calories and proteins do for your body
5. why should you do cardio
6. what is cardio
7. why is sleep important
8. what effect does vitamins and fats have on the body
9. what is protein synthesis

Just entered snap city like an hour ago. I'm dumb, but am I rounding my back? I was only able to record the first rep, but I heard and felt a pop in my lower back on the 3rd rep and have pretty bad pain right now. Pretty sure my form got even worse on the later reps as this is the heaviest I've attempted DLing. Filesize too big and I'm retarded at making webms so:

Anyone? I would like the not repeat the same mistake in the future so any input is welcome.
>>
First of all, go to a Physical Therapist or Chiro (preferably both) and get it looked at.

Second of all, your form on the DL could improve, in terms of lift-off, SQUEEZING the chest UP till it's uncomfortable can help even out the lumbar and thoracic parts of your spine.

Lastly, a trick I use to help flatten the back and engage the lats more is think of pulling the weight with your ring finger, idk how this works but I feel more recruitment from the lats when I do this which helps take some of the weight off of my lower back

For the past few years I've always had the same level of cardio and thus the same endurance. However, since I've started lifting weights, I've gained about 3 kg of muscle so far. Maybe it's all in my head, but... it feels like I last a lot less longer during my sparring bouts. Noticeably so even.

Can bigger muscles affect your endurance, even just a few kilos?

I just think it's weird that my endurance didn't seem to adjust accordingly and that I essentially need to increase my cardio to 'catch up'.

More weight of any kind = less endurance. Marathoner vs sprinter for example.
