I fucked up my lower back six months ago, diagnosed with sprained/strained lower back ligaments. I did physical therapy and since then I've not lifted.

Yesterday I got the same injury(feels the same) at work. I wasn't lifting anything heavy. How do I heal my lower back and prevent this from happening in my daily life and when I go back to lifting?

I tried this, and it helped me a little bit, to recover from a bad mattress and bad chair. I never really completely destroyed it or anything, just long mediocre to small amount of pain with all the function more or less.

Why is sumo nutrition so ridiculously stupid? Ive watched severel docus/YT vids now and their diet is just beyond stupid.

A typical sumo wrestler (including the world champion), eats a soup called 'chankonabe' every fucking day. Its a soup with shitloads of vegetables. And they drink quite alot of beer with it. FUCKING BEER. And they are actually convinced that the soup is very usefull for gaining weight. Now im quite happy for them that their hitting their micro's due to all the vegetables, and surely, they put quite some meat including fatty meats in there, but even with all the fatty meat, their fucking main meal still consists our of mainly water and vegetables. How can that ever be a good idea if your purpose is to get as fat as possible? And then they drink fucking beer, as if athletic performance means shit to them.

I say this is a case of a sport still living 500 years ago. There is such incredibly room for improvement here.

>decide to do some more workouts at home
>have 1 push day, 1 pull day and 1 leg day in a week
>pick 4 exercises on each day (example on push day: push ups, incline push ups, kettlebell shoulder press, kettlebell skullcrucher)
>design a solid program that add a tiny bit of reps or sets to 1 or 2 exercises each week
>focus entirely on slow reps, keeping the tension
>workouts last max 30min a day, 3 days a week
>i am literally bigger than ive even been

Moral of the story, progressive overload and controlled reps are 90% of your results. I seriously am so muscular atm that i absolutely have no intention to even go to the gym anymore. I am very happy with how i look.

Anyone had one of these? I felt a bulge in my groin and went to the medcheck. Doc told me I have a 50/50 chance of it being a hernia or swollen lymph nodes. Wtf /fit/, why me? Recovery time is 6-8 weeks post surgery without lifting...

They said I wont be called in until late next week for a CT scan, should I go ahead and lift until then? Seems pretty pointless if im going to be out for 2 fucking months

I'm currently doing the texas method, and on volume day I do 3 sets of holding the weight I did for romanian deadlifts at top of a deadlift. If I get to a minute I increase the weight by 10 pounds next week.
