Got a container of precooked boneless wings in the back window of a black car wrapped in plastic to keep the heat in. If the skies stay totally clear and blue, the sun should heat them up and in an hour, I'll have lunch.
>>9100186
And then when I get there, I'm gonna discard the container and walk around with a bag full of boneless wings while playing Pokemon Go.
I hope you enjoy salmonella.

Anybody here eat snails? I think it seems disgusting, but here's my question to anybody who does like to eat snails
Why don't you just go out into your yard and scoop them up and fry them every day? They are extremely common in yards especially when it rains
>>9099880
>Why don't you just go out into your yard and scoop them up and fry them every day?
i don't really like snails but as far as i'm concerned you have to starve them first and some people here catches them but they prefer them raised on some snail farm.
>>9099880
those arent the same snails as you eat.
snails are delicious. i prefer sea snails though
>>9099880
For the same reason you wouldn't feed your pet lizard insects from outside. You have no idea whether it contains bacteria, pesticides, or harmful toxins.
Besides, the snails we eat are force fed on flour and herbs. It makes them taste much nicer.

Why do people say Denny's is bad? I've never had a bad meal from Denny's yet all I hear is trash talk
Denny's was good in the 90s, but in the 00s took a huge nose dive. I had it a few weeks ago and it was okay for breakfast, but, still underwhelming. I mean there are worse places you could eat.
Doesn't help that it attracts the worst customers.
>>9099695
It's not. It's actually good but I rarely ever go there and not for any real reason either.
Because people lack appreciation for cheap diner food. It's also not very cheap anymore.
Does /ck/ have any tips for curing olives?
I heard putting garlic and rosemary in the brine is good. Got any tips?

Steak newfag here, going to a steakhouse this evening. Which cut should I get?
Tenderloin, sirloin, flank, rib eye, roastbeef ....?
Ribeye on the bone.
NY strip if you are paying, porterhouse if someone is paying for you.
NY strip and Porterhouse are both safe.
And for the love of fucking god don't get anything past medium-rare or you'll be insulting the cook.

> that guy that sits at the drive-thru window and checks if his order is correct
I am that guy because at most places I have special snowflake orders. You gonna fucking do something about it?
I understand if they need something specific, like if they're allergic to peanuts. I don't check though because I trust that I'll get my order, which is true almost all the time. The only 2 times I didn't get the right order, I ended up getting something of greater value or a change that cost the same and didn't matter to me.

What sort of restaurant?
Wa la get Fazoli's
I'm an idiot when it comes to cooking, but I've been slowly trying to add more stuff to my repertoire. The other day I learned how to make Mexican rice and it was delicious.
The thing that's so interesting about it (to me, at least), is that it's essentially the opposite of Japanese fried rice (fry first, boil second), which got me thinking that you can basically do whatever you want with it. Does anyone have any good ideas on ways to change up the Mexican rice formula? Like I was thinking I could trade out the tomato sauce for something more Asian-y or cheesy. Any ideas?
>>9099001
You can add chipotle flavored tomato sauce, orr instead of chicken stock use some other kind of sauce. You can also make something similar to a paella, just change up the ingredients.
Rather than something "Asian" I think it might be interesting to take out the tomato sauce completely and maybe try for a more Mediterranean-type flavor profile? I'm not sure what to use instead of of tomato sauce though.
>>9099079
Saffron and garlic, like paella?
>>9099087
Yes, throw in some seafood too. Maybe use fish stock instead of chicken?
Gourmand here. What are some foods I might like to try?
Why the fuck is a tire company rating restaurants and acting like a foremost authority on fine dining?

CHILI DOESN'T HAVE BEANS!
CHILI DOESN'T HAVE TOMATOES!
What kind of sophist bullshit is this?
Chili is mainly a meat dish; literally chili and meat.
There's no "better" way to make Chili, all that is is puritanical BS designed to make one 'type' of chilli be seen as the be all and end all of them all.
The key way to make chili is a way that you think it tastes good. If you like beans, have beans; if you like tomatoes, have tomatoes.
My own chili has a bunch of other stuff like green pepper, onion and even, yes, mushrooms. I take no shame in this whatsoever.
Food is about what tastes fucking good. If you don't like tomatoes, leave them out. If you don't like beans, leave them out. What's with this "purist garbage" in the word of gastronomy, where if you aren't following the 100% authentic recipe according to cookbook you are absolutely haram.
This is my favorite chili recipe, and yes, it includes beans and tomatoes: https://youtu.be/H6FAcVIw6HY
But I'd never stoop to say that people who prefer the texas style are WRONG. It's just different tastes.
What's with all this fetishization over authenticity and BS. It's ultimately just minor variations on a meaty, hot, fairly wet dish with chili pepper flavoring.
S
It's mainly a battle between extremist chili goers that their way is the only way.
People argue over stupider shit and people argue about things that are relevant.
