They're such a simple tool the only things to really consider are size and material. Rough stone usually works best, it doesn't yield as much as wood does and the little pits help hold things down as they're ground. After that you just want to consider how much shit you want to grid up at once and get the appropriate size.

Let me give you some personal insight on the matter.

I've been with my wife for 10 years now. We met in high school, and I got her pregnant.
She is and always has been a lazy person and a shit cook. I wouldn't even mind eating shit food if she at least made it on time. But she rarely did.

We'd get into screaming arguments constantly about how lazy and worthless she was. I felt like an asshole for it, but goddamn she was a real piece of work. The only reason I dealt with all this was for the kids, and also because the sex is great.

But one night, I got fed up. Not only did she get drunk, neglect the kids, and made me top Ramen for dinner, but she decided to give me attitude too. She was being real fucking bitchy. So I told my grandparents to keep an eye on the kids and told my wife we were going to go out and have dinner together. I drove maybe 3 blocks to a quiet area (we live in Oregon, it's not hard to find a quiet field) and I got out of the car, went around like I was going to open her door for her and let her out, and I just beat the shit out of her while she was still seatbelted. After a few punches, I asked her if she wanted to go back to her parents. She started screaming and yelling and said yes, so I beat the shit out of her again. Then I asked her what she wanted to do. She finally got smart and said she wanted to go home. So I took her home and dared her to start trouble. I even handed her my cellphone and dialed her mom's number on the drive home. I made her talk to her mom, while daring her to fucking say something.

Before that incident, I had never laid a hand on her. But I had always threatened it. I told her "one of these days, if you don't straighten up, I'm going to lay hands on you."

All my meals have been on time, and she just recently tried to make a meatloaf. It was mediocre, but I was just thrilled that she tried.

Because it's an art, it takes years upon years to master, the best fish isn't cheap and no it's not cheaper in Japan, most western places on charge out the ass because they know people will pay, lesser quality and usually frozen ingredients and chefs with basic knowledge, you won't really see sushi like you do in the west in nip land, it will usually be at a bar like sweating and you will have a chef prepare in front of you what he want you to eat.

You can find cheaper sushi in convenience/grocery stores, but if you go out to a restaurant that serves sushi you'll pay more because it's popular and people are willing to pay those prices. I know multiple people who would eat a lot of sushi for a few months and then hardly ever eat it again, I think those are the kind of people they're banking on because they can charge them a lot while offering low quality sushi. You're better off finding an Asian-style buffet that serves sushi if you can't find a place like >>9199455 describes where there's a chef preparing the sushi right in front of you, for you. That's when it's usually worth it because the ingredients are better, it's fresher, it tastes better, etc.

It's odd how cyclical my beer journey was. Started out in high school with schlights, but then moved on to get the best craft brews. Farmhouse ales, porters, IPAs, ales, and everything in between. After a while, I realized that my wallet should probably take a rest, so I settled on a 30 rack macro that I liked. For a long while that was Miller High Life. After realizing that although decent, the thing I really want on my drinking days is just a beer in my hand. With light beer, you can drink more, stay more hydrated, and most importantly have one in your hand at all times. So it was a homecoming return back to my roots.

Get a job as a line cook in a decent (non-chain) restaurant. Work your skills on and off the job. Work your way up the ranks. Find a better regarded kitchen after a while. The key is to never settle and always be eyeing the next step up the culinary ladder you can take.

Hiring managers looking for a fucking line cook don't give a fuck about culinary school. It just means the new hire is gonna think he's tough shit.

Its just a bad investment regardless of cost. Youre never going to make enough to be able to pay off any remotely decently sized loan. If you like cooking, find a genuine fine dining establishment committed to doing it the right way and just shut the fuck up and cook your ass off. Your career path will take the exact amount of time as you would with a degree and you wont have the burden of loans to pay on 12 dollars an hour.
