Hipster meme food
What's up with these trendy hipster businesses showing up on my Facebook feed lately?
Take this for example: Sedaï Sushi Bowls.
It's raw fish and sushi rice sold on a fucking bowl. It's not even sushi. Hipsters here in Argentina are paying $15-$20 dollars for this shit.
Why? Look at all those fucking likes too.
Do millenials do this shit on your country?
They show up on your feed because they're targeted ads. They show ads based on your browsing history, you dummy.
You've played yourself

It is sushi
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sushi#Chirashizushi
>Chirashizushi (ちらし寿司, "scattered sushi", also referred to as barazushi) serves the rice in a bowl and tops it with a variety of raw fish and vegetable garnishes. It is commonly eaten because it is filling, fast and easy to make.[citation needed] It is eaten annually on Hinamatsuri in March.

They even have a meme food truck
I'm considering brining some chicken thighs for a day or two, and was curious as to how /ck/ would approach it. I've been considering a minimalist approach with some cayenne, parsley and black pepper, but eh.
>>9214760
Two days is overkill.
but brining makes poultry delicious.
Chicken thighs don't need brining. They are fatty enough by themselves.
Do you own a smoker?
Brining makes things more moist....what are you doing wrong?????
Induction, electric or gas? What does /ck/ think is the best for cooking?
Is there a objectovley best type or does it all come down to personal preferences?
whatever my mom has upstairs. dumb bitch
>>9214725
Gas because fire is cool
>>9214725
sadly I have no gas where I live and struggle with that shitty ceramic top
wish induction ranges where cheaper
I made some tendies and fries from scratch the other day.
The tendies were seasoned with just salt and pepper. Double breaded with an egg bath (an egg, a little milk, and hot sauce) and seasoned flour.
The sauce was an attempt at copying Zaxby's sauce. Mayo, ketchup, a touch of mustard, Lea and Perrin's, garlic powder, black pepper, and Old Bay.
The fries were fast food style. Peel a bunch of potatoes and slice them on the fry setting of a mandoline, fry at 300 for 4 mins, let cool and freeze. Take out a portion and fry at 375 until crisp and brown (about 2 minutes).
> desecrating food with a dipping mixture
Man, you're an animal.
>>9214676
If you chilled your tenders before frying I'd call that a solid 8/10. If you doubled down and made a second sauce I'd go 9/10.
>>9214676
Good on you for cooking anon. But what do you want here? They look breddy gud but a tender is just a tender.
I'd eat them but I don't want any sauce including mayo.

Sure. It was one reason I became almost vegan. But it wears off. I feel like eating meat again soon.
>>9214557
Can you vegan baiters give it a rest.
>>9214557

http://www.grubgrade.com/food-news/mcdonalds-introduces-signature-sriracha-burger-and-chicken-sandwich
Has anyone tried this?
>>9214540
>Is it dead?
>Company did test market
>Good enough sales to take it National
Well lets think about it, shall we?
>>9214540
No, sriracha whilst you consider it a meme sauce is successful because it had the right mix of hot, sour, sweet, salty and it has a good flavour. It is the all rounder of hot sauces and will be around for years and years to come. Here's an idea, instead of hating on somethings success why don't you promote somethings good qualities. Oh right, that's why, because OP is and always will be an irrevocable faggot.

I usually use macaroni, but I am wondering if there is a better pasta to use? Also, has anyone experimented with a goulash bake? What temp, how long, which cheese did you top it with?
>>9214469
I used Fettuccine
no cheese

Hi, /ck/. What should I eat to stop being depressed? Keep in mind I have little time to cook and in fact I suck at cooking.
Please advise.

Mushrooms of the magical kind.
Also if you're not taking antidepressants at johns wort. As for food-food, junk food just makes you feel like shit; baked salmon's always healthy and tasty.
>>9214301
I mean food-food. I'm not sure how junk is the stuff I eat but I don't eat much anyways.

Italian, French, and Japanese food are all equally shit because it gives me the most (You)s
For me it is the McChicken, everything else is a conspiracy to make me feel uncultured

Tu sei un testa di melone, molto idiota!
I want to eat more pork, but aside from barbecue, fried pork chops, and bacon I don't really know what to do with it. what are some recipes I can make at home?
Port loin roast is great. Cook about medium rare if you don't mind the texture
Ill get either bone in or boneless pork chops, marinate for an hour or more, then give it a good season and quickly pan grill over the stove top with EVOO. Its tender and delicious so long as you dont overcook it
>>9213815
>pan grill over the stove top with EVOO
>grill
That would be frying then.
Anyone else like watching these types of cooking channels? By that, I mean the type where people from villages cook traditional stuff.

don't sage my thread.
Looking for some good cheap whiskies. I like Old Crow and Old Granddad.
I too gravitate towards the Crow when seeking cheap whiskey. It's inoffensive and inexpensive.
Benchmark is more flavorful but slightly harsher.
If you are willing to spend a few bucks more, Evan Williams 1783 is a great buy (the black label is ok too).
>>9213718
I don't like Evan Williams. The taste literally makes me sick. I haven't tried Benchmark though.
>>9213708
>good cheap whiskies
Don't exist. If you want a decent bourbon you have to pay a certain dollar amount for it.
Which state are you in for starters?
