So! I am in america on vacation now..
and I am a bit confused.. so!
can someone explain the whole credit score thing?

it seems like the biggest scam ever? you have to use a credit card a lot and pay fees to be allowed to borrow money from the bank?

so if I`m not completely off, you have to pay fees for a long time before you can get a loan and make more money for the bank?

>>
>>1457646
It's just a way for the bank to evaluate how likely you are to pay back the money they extend, regardless of fees.
If you can't prove a history of paying loans back then, no, they're not going to be beating down your door to lend you money.
>>
but would it not make more sense to pay a 15% downpayment on the loan, and if you cant pay, the bank takes the house and they have 15% to work with...
not give a 100% loan for a house..

the banks would take a bit more risk, but people would not get fucked so hard over..
>>
>>1457659
They're not going to let you buy a house with a credit card, Bud.

Have any of you biztards ever owned/worked/operated a vehicle towing company.

I own a automotive collision repair shop and am thinking about purchasing a used rollback truck to pickup the light tows that we are constantly subcontracting to our tow guys. I have done some quick math and realized if we finance one of these rigs we will more than cover our monthly payment if we can bill for the tows instead of referring them out to our current tow guys.

- Any input on this as an additional income stream? Seems like a natural addition.
- Any input on insurance issues?
- Any input on brands to beware/maintenance issues, etc?

You'll have to pay someone to drive it. Would it be cheaper than outsourcing?

Wreck towing here is about $200, what are you paying your contractors?
>>
>>1457585
Why not? Cut out the middle man.
>>
>>1457590
$150-200 is about the average cost here too.

Couple other components;

- We are opening a second location, rollback may be nice with load-leveling between the two shops.

- We have contracts /w insurance carriers to pickup customers vehicles from same central location every time. We wouldn't we running all over town looking for addresses. We would pickup from the same lot that we visit everyday anyways. This would constitute 80% of our billable tows.

- I doubt that I would hire an internal dedicated driver, myself and a couple others could drive it. We also could move them faster than waiting in queue for a tow driver.

How likely is it that jobs in Investment Banking and Hedge Funds will be automated soon?
4 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Plot twist, they already are
>>
>>1457549

This is true but someone have to watch it to be sure everything does as it is programmed to do so aka people literally monitor screens all day looking for errors.
>>
>>1457545
90% of an investment bankers day is doing trades for clients and dealing with clients. 10% is spent on their own portfolio.
the investment bank could use automation for their own money, but clients want to speak to someone and have someone accountable when making trades.

Yeah but the market is so flooded because of that, its incredibly difficult for new teachers to get full time positions.
And canuckbucks is only like 0.77 freedom dollars. So still like 50% more than the US.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL OR A SHILL - THIS IS THE HOLY TRINITY
>AMD
>SWHC
>AA

>>>NASDAQ: AMD: Advanced Micro Devices

It was $6.92 the other day, it'll moon to at least $9.50
They released a new zen chip... Just search up "AMD". Every article from the last 3 days is all about their new zen chip. TL:DR
Intel is getting shit on, AMD is rising to the top with their new Zen computer chip
>http://www.anandtech.com/show/10581/early-amd-zen-server-cpu-and-motherboard-details-codename-naples-32cores-dual-socket-platforms-q2-2017

It's basically a revolutionary computer chip which is like a PC but all in one, chink companies will buy this in bulk, give it a week or 2. It's a bit late to buy now, but you can get in on the moon train. Tommorow on Monday, it will finish at 1:00 PM with a closing of $9.00 or even higher. This is the holy grail for chink companies, Asus, HP, etc. Basically all gaming companies and tech resources are gonna buy shares and buy alot of AMD Zen chips for their future gaming computers

>>>NASDAQ: SWHC: Smith & Wesson Holding Corp

Let's face it, nearing the election, people will be afraid hillary will win and take away their guns, so they buy more. This is a good stock to buy now. Mooning predicted by near November ,
>and the day before the election?
Oh boy. You better kiss your money sucking wife Goodbye.

>>>NYSE: AA : Alcoa Inc.
The company will be split in two soon. The traditional bulk aluminium part of the business will remain, but a partition will focus on specialty aluminium parts for aircraft/military vehicles. It's already in the Pentagon's budget to buy loads of aluminium undercarriages or whatever for US Army humvees to protect them from IEDs.

High potential that it could rise to $12 or even $18 in the next few months.

Note from someone who bought this stock: I'm up 10.29% on it so far, bought it in April. Easiest money I've ever made.

Hey /biz/

What are some general costs for entry into online retail to account for? I have a product I'd like to sell (niche men's skincare) and I've been contacting suppliers about the cost to make it. But what are all the things I should consider beyond just the product itself? So far I've gotten:

Amazon costs ($39.99/mo, 15% referral fee)
UPC code ($250 first year, $50 after that)
Shopify ($29/mo, 2.9% + 30 cents)

What else should I account for?

>>
>>1457368

All that shit is chump change, your biggest cost should be advertising.
>>
>>1457398
How would I determine a ballpark figure? It will only be one product. Are we talking social media advertising? What platforms should I be looking at?
>>
>>1457414

I would shop around, do some testing on a few platforms and see what gives the best ROI

How can I pairs trade SPXS and SPXL, do I just buy one on its red day and sell it on green days?

Does some more complicated strategy exist for this, also how do I know if it wont just go red again the next day?

Wait until NYSE open at 6:30AM Eastern time. Watch to see if it crashes. If yes, buy when it bottoms out and starts to rebound, sell on the rebound later in the day. Tomorrow (Monday) works best because weekend after-hours trades go through.
>>
>>1457329
So using Friday as an example you would have seen SPXL going down pre-market then waited for it to crash which it did around 10 am and sold it later at 10:30 or so when it rebounded. Is that right?

Is day trading the only option, can you hold it and sell it later the next day if its green or is that not always guaranteed?
>>
>>1457329
is this pretty much guaranteed profits? how much do you typically make in a day?

Without delving into shitposting and /pol/ shit; any tips for investing money while in the Army or military?
Im 22 single and I make about 1800 a month after taxes and have almost no expenses other than 50 a month for internet. I put 5% into my TSP L fund, and have 15k in the bank making .05% interest. Thoughts on TSP in general?

How long do you plan to stay in the military. If you know you're doing 20 + years, throw as much as you can into your TSP. Keep living off of that low income, without changing your expenses as you increase in pay through the ranks. I don't know alot about TSP, except that I've heard numerous stories about disciplined individuals retiring with 1mil+ because they dumped 15% into it while serving.
>>
VOO my nigga

Or open a vanguard account
>>
>buy car outright so no payments and cheaper issuance
>split internet with roommate
>$30/month T-Mobile plan
>Limit alcohol and eating out
>Don't be afraid to pour money into a hobby that keeps you sane
>Use DANTES and TA to get a regionally accredited degree (kills time and let's you use your GI Bill for Masters, another bachelors or vocational school)

You can easily save $1000/month. Sucks as a private but life blows until you make Specialist anyways. Roth TSP is better than a Roth IRA because lower fees than even Vanguard and 3x higher max contributions. Very achievable to get to $50,000 and a BA in Underwater Basket Weaving at the end of 4 years. No on in the military does it though because they have poor financial discipline and independent study skills. If you're really smart, you use your BA to commission in a cush branch and coast to 20 years to enjoy that O4 pension plus the $750,000 in your Roth TSP.

If you're not trolling, which you obviously are, you're a dipshit for buying after hours. Some anon invested at $4 a stock, lost a shitload of money, and thinks the combined investment power of ~85k from /biz/ can make a dent. Not only would it not make a significant impact on the loss, but it would also be impossible to get everyone on board. Yeah, don't try to build credit with a measly credit card. Are you or your parents part of a credit union? If so, there's ways to can make out a loan literally to yourself, through the union or a trust or whatever, in order to simply pay off small interest rates on a loan you gave yourself. The union gets to keep the interest, but you keep the loan from yourself and in turn pay to build up credit. Alternatively, take out a loan with minimal interest rates from a bank or something, wherever you can find the smallest rates. Keep the money in the bank and simply pay off the interest without spending the money. You're paying to build credit, name of the game, and you can get a good score if you simply pay off the loan within X amount of time. I suggest keeping it 3-6 months. If you don't like where you got, just do it again.
