How many people here have actually made decent money from trading stock?
How many people make a living day trading? Pic related says you can't make any money, but I'm hoping he's mostly wrong.

i make upwards to $30 a day trading shitcoins and stocks with what little NEET money I have. Its not a recommended lifestyle for everyone, but I only need around $10 a day to survive.. No GF, no car, no expenses
>>
Depends really how much time you invest in it; and how good you are.
>>
last week i bought 5k worth of shares the next day it was worth 6k. if i invested 50k i would have made 10 grand

first time i ever bought shares. the cool thing is if it goes down just hold onto it until it goes back up. if u are buying something like 5k worth at a time you make enough to cover any trading fees as well as a few $ profit

I'm in a similar situation. I need to cash out some of my btc to meet unexpected costs.

Unfortunately since I don't have two weeks to wait for the money to deposit, I'm going to meet up with some dude in Oakland who's buys for cash.

Hope I don't die.
>>

Localbitcoins, wallofcoins, shift visa, gift cards, okpay, coinbase deposits only take a few days in US, there are also crypto debit cards.

All of these services have a lot of fees though. Try to only change crypto for fiat if you have to.

No it is not. Its actually one of the best coins out there. Great tech, great community, great devs and some great people behind it.

It lacked the hype of shitcoins though so it only goes through small steps.

Now it break out after long time and might go bonkers at last...

Btc volitlity. What are the factors in price change, is there a legitimate way to analyze its movements? Someone compare the risks of btc investments to standard stock investments (leave out the obvious potential 100% loss) I would be interested to know what effects btc price directly, if anything.

>is there a legitimate way to analyze its movements

No because it has no legitimate use.
>>
Is there a way to measure how many btc exist?
>>
No because it has no legitimate use.

It's used as a currency, so do you think it can be used as a currency based investment? Buy a bc for $1 sell it for $7, make $6.

Should I major in finance, supply chain management, or marketing?

Incoming college freshman here, haven't started school yet. Declared political science major because I want to go to law school but in case I don't want to do that, I want a degree that's marketable.

Not that big of a fan of math. I mean I never failed math but it's not really my thing. If I took a basic math course in college though it wouldn't be the end of the world. How much math is really involved in a major like finance? I'm a creative person and I do well in group projects. What's the best path for me desu?
31 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1457651
Political science is shit for law. As for your choices, business management is better, standard business degrees are best. You'll hate marketing because under a master's it's basically sales, finance is boring as shit and limited. Supply chain management is specific, try to get into standard business management.

Don't go political science. Get a business degree and go to law with that. MBA+Juris doctorate is really saught out for by major employers. Worst case scenario is that you stop at your MBA. My neighbor has a dual MBA and law degree and he makes well over 200k a year.
>>
>>1457651
You can also stop at your bachelor's of business and still have a marketable degree. Again, ignore marketing, and only go finance if it's your plan to go all the way through with it.
>>
>>1457651

If you're in college you're already majoring in cuckoldry by default, only way to switch out is to leave and start your own business.

Alright fellow ausfags, didn't see an ASX thread so I thought I'd start one and use it as an opportunity to ask a question of my own.

My grandmother passed away a few weeks ago and now I'm the proud owner of around $40,000. I'm a 19 year old student and obviously want to make this money work for me as much as possible.

I know that most people would say to just pump all of it into ETF's and wait. But I thought given the sum of what I've inherited, I would at least ask you fellow /biz/nessmen what your thoughts are. Should I use a portion to hold some bitcoin, are there any long term non memestocks you are shilling? I'd love to hear.

Also is anyone following LRS? It's down a shitload over the past few months. What do you think the bottom is? is lithium a no-go?

This is the advice I got a few weeks ago which i know is the popular opinion right now. Should I just follow this?
>>
40 grand? Mate haven't you thought about property? Even if the bubble bursts in the next 2 years (if it bursts at all), 20 years from now you would have a very valuable asset.

I realize you probably don't want to be tied down to any sort of debt, don't want to mortgage a place, but with interest rates pretty much as low as they'll ever be, if you could get a fixed rate you'd be pretty well off.

>>1457650
On another ASX thread an anon claimed that if you buy a shares in a grocer, a mining company, and a big 4 bank, you can pretty much match the ASX200. I suck at maths so I wasn't able to model this to corroborate it, but I suggest you look into that, why pay an index fund percentage to do what you can do yourself.

I do like the idea of investing 30% internationally in a index fund a because I think the States is going to have a better economic outlook than Australia, maybe even Europe once the PIIGS finally turn around.

You might want to plug about one grand in Bitcoin during the next dip, since it's so liquid as an investment you can pull out anytime.
>>
>>1457645
Also, just talk to an accountant. you might get fucked over by Capital Gains if you ever cash out your investments, so make sure you keep to keep your gains.

25 I just got laid off after two years working during school.

According to EDD I'm about to get $500 for the next two years. Should I immediately look for work (currently spending a month off before applying since they laid me off right before my PTO) or take even more time to do whatever (travel, additional education, etc). If the former, what would be the maximum amount of time.

I dont pay any bills other than a phone bill and half of utilities with my mom.

If I were in an uncertain financial situation like you the very first thing I'd do is look for work. Save up a rainy day fund in case something like this happens again.

Good planning anon, you'll be okay.

>having a job is like having one customer

Look for work, avoid significant unexplained gaps in your resume. You have work experience and are out of school, so it won't be hard to get re-hired.. You were also laid off, not fired, so see if you can get letters of recommendations or references. If you were let go on good terms they should have no problem helping you out.

Can anyone here Explain some Ways TO Use
Stock Scanner's Like Trade Ideas to day trade professionally

http://www.trade-ideas.com/

any advice is greatly appreCiated

I heard u should use volume spikes or volatility as alerts but what would be some specific settings

what else do u know about scanners?

>>1457614
>When you open trade ideas go to the channel bar and select surge
>close all windows except "high volume movers"
>right click anywhere and select "Configure all..."
>make sure all strategies are selected and then press edit selected at the bottom left
>at the Window Specific Filters tab make the following changes:
- minimum price $1
- average daily volume = 1 million
- and the most important: press the "more" button at the bottom, find the "alert count" parameter and add it. enter 20 alerts as the minimum
>go to the "exchanges" tab and deselect all exchanges except NASDAQ
>save the settings
>enjoy your money

disclaimer: not all of these will be mega runners that just go up and up all day long; some will go up for a few more bars after you get the alert and then they will die. learn how to take profits fast.

make these changes tomorrow morning and watch the tickers that appear. once you see that this works start trading the tickers with a sim account. afterwards get into using real money a.s.a.p but start small
>>
>>1457614
As >>1458393 said, but check each stock on yahoo finance for low float (less than 100 million)

This is my goal. I only want to make 2-3k after taxes as well so I can live in SEA with my wife's family. They bought us a house so I would have no living expenses.
IT fag so I will just re-skin some games and put them on App Store. If I feel really ambitious, I will make a game site for kids as well.

Make website catered to a specific niche like "Delaware divorce lawyer" or "Seattle Dentist" or Miami plastic surgery" rank it up on google look in the ppc boxes of the niche youre in and sell the site to them, sell them leads from your site, or monthly payment for a link directly to their site.

I definitely suggest you Look into IM shits fucking ridiuclous money. Im in SEO but, you can do whatever you feel competent in. Just do it online.

See the only real passive income is selling a digital product or service. There is VERY low overhead cost and the distribution is global and instant.

You can literally be at the fucking beach with your laptop or at starbuck trying fuck the stunner across the room who keeps on eye fucking you and still be making money.

Freedom is the name of the game!

how legit is to code a software to make fractal or abstract art and sell it's paintings (basically big prints) for money to modern art people?

They already have programs for this and I have a friend who tinkers with it and he got a big expensive printer to make prints he sells in galleries

You are...like 15 years too late with this idea
>>

Why don't you try it and find out?

Etsy seems like a place to sell it. Should be large amazing canvasses though, like as big as professional engineering drawings.

Even better - just do the outline and have the artist fill in so its hand made.
