Is it worth getting a bachelor's in business if my end goal is an MBA? Can I just go with my passion for my bachelor's and then get my MBA straight from there? I feel like it might be a safer route as well, in case I find something other than business, and I can always fall back on the MBA.
>>1459285
Depends on the passion and how many loans you are willing to take. MBAs are expensive as fuck. But yes, for the most part, any Bachelors lets you go into any Masters (though some business coursework will help you look better on applications).
Can I get a business related job with a BS in Geology? The mining and O&G industries are in the pits, and I just graduated. Can a jabronie like myself be able to sell himself and get an analytics/BI job?
>>1459291
Tough road to hoe. Should have done a double in econ.
I am a new business analyst.
I am wondering is it worth it to start working towards a IIBA or PMI certification?
I have passed cfa1 but my career path is moving away from finance and towards BA/BI work.
I am starting on my masters this semester on the company.
Are certs ever worth it?
>>1459254
PMI is absolutely worth it.
Be glad you have a job and work hard. Dont be a cuck is all.
>>1459310
Looking at the time requirements
I think I will go for the CCBA first then the PMI-PGA and cap it off with a CPBA.
Anybody have any experience with this? I mean I'm sure i could make a website and convince people I'm a female, i guess it's just a matter of getting traffic...
Why fake?
>>1459252
I'm a male, i know where to source pictures and vids but that's not the issue.
>>1459248
HAHAHAH FUCK THIS WOULD BE HILARIOUS
/biz, what are the best investment/insurance steps to take before/during an economic collapse dwarfing that of 2008?

Hey,
Small IT software business but we're starting to grow both internally and market-share wise. Also the team is great, they're clever and they're really doing the business proud. No problems there.
The issue is that the entire team is so indecisive that I have fears of promoting some of these guys as the business grows. They will discuss issues for a good week before deciding on "we should probably choose a" etc.
Please /biz/ what should I do? Is there training for this sort of thing? Should I hire externally? Should I drop a few of the top ones into the deep end and see if they float? Please advise
And yes, I realise that good decision making can take time, I a m not trying to rush the cook. I just want decisions to be made with confidence when all options are presented fully.
>>1459200
I would hire a manager with experience in the field, it sounds like there's currently no one making decisions.
>>1459207
Either this or you need to step up and start being the decision maker.
I'm sure there's training, and honestly if you have a good influence you can bring that out of them.
Does pic related actually have a future? Lets be real here, I mean its purchasing power has been GREATLY diminished, its no longer backed by precious metals or foreign currency, they create more and more of it every day, and people like the Rothschilds have abandoned it completely:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/rothschild-dumps-us-dollar-for-gold-other-currencies-bitcoin
Documentary on its constantly weakening value:

What does /biz/ think?
>>1459195
It's backed by oil and whenever someone attempts to break away from the petrodollar they end up with a nasty internal coup or wholesale Freedom delivery.
The greenback isn't going anywhere.
>>1459195
>USD is a memay!!!
>Youtube link
>It is no shit another mike baloney video
>>1459203
How is it backed by oil? I understand the world trades oil with it (for now), but its not actually tied to oil like it was once tied to gold, and several other countries are trying to switch to trading oil in other means. Countries that we couldnt curbstomp like the Iraqi sandniggers.
>>1459206
then go watch one of the other documentaries on the subject, theres dozens of good ones. Or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7M3EEHYkJ0
They are a good way to make money? How can I start?

>>1459176
Considered this myself when daydreaming about winning megamillions. It's be awesome to be Mr X using a Bank of X credit card to pay for stuff
You have to be at least part reptilian, and can trace your bloodline back to the home planet. If not maybe you can make a sacrifice and one of the lizards can vouch for you.
Is it worth taking matters to court over unpaid wages, /biz/?
Best board i can think of asking on, need /law/
Had a messy separation with my last job at a small start-up. I found out they'd been underpaying me for 11 months and confronted my boss about it. He spent three weeks looking for a way to fire me before he just decided "you spoke back to me, you're out".
I offered to resign instead and he accepted, but now I've added it all up I'm owed 13k by them not including contributions to my super.
Do any of you have experience with small claims? Is it worth the trouble? Is it easy? I feel like 13k before tax is worth the trouble of making some court filings. Im in QLD Aus btw
13k isn't small claims.
If you can finance an attorney, or find one who is money hungry, then it's worth it.
Be prepared for hell though.
>>1459152
Go to the better business bureau, and report your old job. If they are skimping money out of you, then they are doing it to others as well. Stand up for yourself AND other people. I would also recommend talking to a lawyer and stating your case. You may have to search for a finance lawyer (or whatever they are called) in your area. If you have documentation that heavily supports your case, the lawyer will agree to help you for a small "fee". Stop talking to your previous company about it. You want them to know as little as possible until you blindly hit them with a shovel. Its not too hard to do if you have a good case in your favor. It just takes a while. I would recommend giving the lawyer a nice % cut of any wins you get, so he will be incentivized to fight harder for you. Otherwise, you will be sitting waiting for info for 6 months.
>>1459167
this, except
>I would recommend giving the lawyer a nice % cut
is wrong. You have a case that's winnable by the vast majority of lawyers, find one with a reasonable price
>2017: VR and Self driving cars are the next big thing
oh well what do you know, fucking uber and dominating the self driving car market and oculus the VR market, small plebs stand no chance

>>1459135

what's the point of this thread?

Dear /biz/ I bought into a small position of Aurinia Pharmaceuticals. I bought into it using my own research. Why does everyone call it a meme stock?
>>1459085
Because a week ago there were 20 different posts about it all on the same day.
>>1459095
Oh I see.
I also bought in fuck it im riding this Meme and the stock looks legit anyways.
Why is it so hard to make money as a software developer by yourself?
>>1459079
there's a lot of competition and you're probably not that skilled
To make a really groundbreaking project that beats professional teams where each member has more experience than you is very hard
>>1459079
Because you are going up against companies that have more money then you, more people working for them that are more skilled and have successful business models.
Why should I wait a year for you to produce X when Y company has 50 people that produce it in 2 weeks time?
>>1459079
It isn't. I make 70/hr contracting and I only have a years experience.
What does /biz/ think of Mr. Money Mustache?
http://www.mrmoneymustache.com
>>1459071
I think he makes money off selling people a false hope and saying retarded shit
He's one of the new crowd of "motivational" bloggers, where they sell you the dream of early retirement while they're retiring early from their blog's views.
>>1459072
this. also that comic is some deep shit and it made my penis erect.
>>1459071
>>1459072
I visited it a few times and notice it's never really updated. I read 5-10 of his posts and that was enough.
There's nothing profound about anything he says. His mantra is "if you earn $200,000-$400,000 per year in a fairly challenging job but want to give it up soon, use that substantial paycheck to set up your departure"
It's just literally useless information for the 99%'ers
Has anyone noticed the drastic and rapid drop in prices of television sets at Wal-Mart? Any insight why? Is there some new product/tech coming out that's going to obsolete the current kind?
>>1459057
Dude, they only just stopped producing actual new VCR's this past month
>>1459057
the first run of manufacturing a product is the most expensive as new tools and methods have to be invented. Following production runs are cheaper as the tools and methods are paid for.
after that production gets cheaper as it's spread to other locations and parts are outsourced. Next production becomes dirt cheap when the subs that you outsourced to steal your tools and technology and start producing in competition with you. Finally the bottom drops out of the market when lax Chinese intellectual property laws mean anyone with a couple dollars and a factory can start cranking out your product using your own suppliers and slap their name on it.
All of this means electronics, like any Chinese product, get cheaper over time.
when you see a brand name that's not dropping in price- cell phones are a good example- it's not because the product isn't getting cheaper to manufacture, it's because the brand holder is raping your ass.
Ah I see. So basically 'Black Friday/Thursday' whatever this year we'll be seeing absurdly cheap televisions? Would that extend to computer monitors as well?
