>TFW people are making huge BUCKS off Malware and stealing peoples' information

>TFW meanwhile I'm poor and wagecucking like a beta

Why the hell is everyone on /biz/ not doing fraud and involved in malware? It seems like the .com goldrush of our time. And it appears to be wearing thin by now, we should have got in years ago.

Why didn't we? Why the fuck are we missing out?

Literal 80 IQ mongoloids are making lots of money without any programming knowledge just by buying this stuff.

Why are we still poor?

Why are we still coping? what's the point?

Good thing you don't actually have to, you can just buy the bins, buy a bunch of loads and then sit back and make $$$$$$$$$$$$.

Seriously it's so retardedly easy i dont know why we didn't get in on this.

They sell this shit for so dirt cheap. You could buy some of these bots like Neutrino for $250 fucking dollars. And then make $$$$$$$$.

WHY DIDN'T WE?

Does the US really need manufacturing jobs back in the US? It seems we would be moving backwards by bringing back old manufacturing jobs to the country. Bigger corporations outsource these jobs to developing countries and basically any place where it's cheaper. Places with higher populations.

Will demand for American products drop in a domestic way if american manufacturers cannot keep up with the foreign manufactured output? Does manufacturing deplete other services?

The only thing americans should be manufacturing is increased technology. We should continue increasing our service industry and thriving off a service industry is a sign of a well developed first world nation.

Are americans with no jobs ready to work 70+ hours a week to keep up with demand?

Can we increase real GDP and HDI through manufacturing like in the past? Can you revive an old economy?

>>
well yes because you need to fix unemployement.

once you fix unemployment and healthcare you get more return in taxes, less welfare participants, less ebt cards, less section 8 housing.
manufacturing in particular is important because most low-end jobs are unreliable and consumer based. and anything that is consumer based is likely to use imported goods which takes money out of america
>>
>>1670065
Good point.

>>1670065
If there was a way for the US to have any manufacturing jobs, the rust belt would not be the rust belt. It is actually funny that while US likes to hate on commie Europe and yet they are unable to have a solid manufacturing without getting overrun by US commies.

Anyone do App Development or Software Development Part Time?

I am going to start a job in Finance which is ok pay (63k a year with 5k starting bonus in NYC), but I won't be working crazy hours so I want to be able to do some App Development on the side.

Coming out of school I will have some experience developing apps as I am also an IT major, so I won't have to learn from the ground up. Granted, there is still work I need to do in order to be marketable.

how did you get that job?
>>
>>1670032
I also (will) have degrees in Finance and Econ. Triple Major (Finance Econ and IT). I took on the IT major as a side interest and really found it interesting, however my skills were not developed enough to land a job in the field before the school year was over. Next semester I will be taking most of my IT courses.

Got the job through networking with alumni and knowing my shit about finance
>>
>>1670029
What / how many apps have you made? How long is it taking you to graduate with 3 majors?

OK so i'm guessing this has been done 1000 times but im just thinking about why this would or would not work. I am an electrical engineer with decent coding skill (Java/C/C#) and I have an interest in the stock market.

Steps:
1) Create a Neural Net and train it on the shit load of stock history data until you get a net positive outcome for arbitrary stocks. (So the net will make on average a return of 10% in a month say)

2) Get around 1000 USD and let the Neural Net have fun and start trading.

3) Profit?

>Implying all the big trading houses don't already have million dollar software running 24/7 trying to do the same.

Go for it. Just understand that you've got some really well financed competition.
>>
It's already been done and its already in widespread use. They have mixed results. They do really well with futures market stuff but suck at picking stocks.

Do a google search or something dude.
>>
I don't understand why this is a problem (since I dont really have a huge amount of experience in finace). So surely the trading houses are really well financed and can operate much faster and make transactions much faster than I can. But why is this a problem? My system may pick up different trends than theirs making it so that we are not competing.

It's not a true Fair-Isaacs FICO score.

It correlates highly with FICO since they use similar metrics. The "cost" is that you will then get spammed with all sorts of free credit card /refi / auto loan / etc offers. They sell the info you enter.

Some credit cards (eg Discover) give you a true FICO for free, and you can check it as often as you wish.
>>
>>1669770
Fuck no its not a meme! Do it. Now. Shit changed my life op. Spent $600 on a class that pretty much said sign up for credit karma and use cards intelligently.

450 score to over 700 and climbing. Saved over 3 grand this year on interest fees alone.
>>
>>1669775
Discover is US-only. They don't even accept it here for travellers.

The thing is that in Canada, CreditKarma only uses Transunion, which is said to be shite compared to Equifax.

Basicaly I'm asking this because I dont want to go into debt for a college degree and I think degrees are a bit scam-ish when you compare it to the debt youve accumulated for that shit.

Anyway, there has to be other ways to get decent paying jobs that dont require a degree.

Any advice?

uhh, you could go to a vocational school for welding and get a job on an oil rig?
>>
Senior I.T security consultant here l. Like 50% of entry level help desk I.T jobs dont require a degree, only 1 or 2 certification, I only have an associates degree. This industry values experience and certifications more than degrees, I know quite a few high level I.T guys who have no degree and make like $50,000 a year or more.
>>
Vocation type jobs and the military. Police officer and firefighter. All make decentish money especially compared to the less marketable 4-year degrees people get.

Also lumberjack, miner, oil field worker and fishing.

Generally they pay well because they are difficult and somewhat dangerous and not many people are cut out for it.

business partner (investor) insisting on being able to cover monthly overhead for first month

worried about going 2-3 months without overhead or little to no profit after. this was the case for quite a while with last company. any thoughts?
>>
He's obviously worried that your business will bleed you both dry. As someone who's tried and failed before, any negative cash flow is an enormous red flag.

I'd talk to him about strict timelines and declaring immediate failure right away if anything happens after month one.

So I'm helping out a friend with a business that provides graphic design/video editing + targeted ads using fb.

How do I get clients in my city? (Austin).

I've skimmed the newspaper for potential clients but none of them really understand the potential of targeted ads vs newspaper.
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Why are you limiting yourself to Austin?
>>
>>1669596
Because I'm thinking about walking in the business to talk instead of cold calling. I'm in the process of making a video explaining targeted ads, etc.

Would it be preferable to cold call in different cities?
>>
>>1669605
Why not try? Make the video and put it on your site. Don't just cold call, but get in touch with businesses via e-mail and social media. Your type of business is global, friend.

Amazon FBA: meme or dream?

I have been wanting to do thus for years, but cant find any decent suppliers
>>
Seems cool in theory but hard to execute. Suppliers are hard to find.
>>
>>1669613
suppliers aren't hard to find.

you need to find a product that sells already and offer an alternative. buying from china isn't the rip-off meme that people make out either if you do your homework.

you can definitely make money with niches. find a product that sells, find a supplier of something similar, do your calculations and if it is worthwhile, undercut the price and do FBA. don't make it the cheapest.

it's pretty easy and there is info if you google, but you could spend $10 on udemy and get a step by step guide how to do it.

you need to work out the long term storage costs if things don't sell and figure out your b/e point & whether you think spending $X to make $X+Y in Z months is worth it.

best way to find a niche is go deep in the amazon directory and find the best selling items, then search for similar.

Realising you now have a product that is much cheaper to manufacture, thus you can decrease the price and force your competitors out of business. End result is more wealth and less work, which is fucking brilliant.
>>
>>1669567
But if people don't have jobs, they can't participate in that wealth.

I need a yard for a business, where do I find on up for lease?
6 posts and 1 images submitted.

I'd inquire with local businesses that have parking available that you do not directly compete again and offer to pay money to park your shit there.

I'd try a salvage yard or some other place that is privately owned, reasonably secure, has heavy vehicle traffic and zero concern for what their property looks like.
