The video game entertainment industry was created by outcasts most of who didn't have a stable home or even their own computers to start with.

Let's hear your bullshit story about why you can't be successful? What's holding you back, /biz?

Are you working yet? Is it a career path?

If not, just put it in a savings account for now. You need liquid cash while you're young to get started and have a buffer so you don't have to use credit cards.

Sure, you may lose 1% annually to inflation, but what is that - $140? That's opportunity cost to have the full magazine loaded when life throws shit at you.

Just resist every temptation to spend it on stupid shit. Wait for it .... wait for it.....

Build up a 6 month living expenses safety net for Shit Happens (believe me, it does and debt sucks)
Then start bumping your investments up a little every year. Never cash in those investments.
Then start saving more so you can buy everything wish cash, including cars and furniture. (debt sucks)

Move and get a better job. No reason you should be paying 24 grand in rent and food while you make 30k

I intend to spend £10,000 to start a small business and make a good £70,000 - £90,000 at the end of the year.

Started working in audit after graduation. It's only been 6 months and I can already say this place is not for me.

I'm actually a fucking econ major, lowish GPA, just randomly applied for a bunch of companies and accepted this offer for no real reason.

Now I hate every moment of my life. I have no other options. Need some advice :(

I need to keep busy over the next 6 months at least before applying to finance grad jobs. I want to improve my competitiveness as much as I can until then. Any ideas?

Im considering sitting for the Level 2 CFA exam, and i'm trying to find part-time work but I need some other stuff to do. Is volunteering good? Is it lame to include another language you learned on Duolingo in your resume? Should I try learn VBA?

I need some ideas.
12 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Volunteering can bring networking opportunities, and networking is always a very good thing. Two of the jobs I've had I got through my network of people I know. A ton of new jobs start with "Hey, Mike. You do good work. We need someone else in the XXXX group to help with the work load. Do you know anybody you'd recommend?"

Languages? Only if fluent and the job entails working with the public. Knowing 300 words of Spanish isn't really something you put on your resume.

Imagine yourself at your first job. What do you see yourself doing? What ancillary skills would make your life easier doing this job?
>>
Referenced skills are the only ones worth a damn. Work under someone who can actually teach you something
>>
>>1671341
If you study for lvl 2 CFA, then pass the fucking and thing do nothing else. Won't have many times in life with no work for 6 months.

If that doesn't work, perfect your skills on your knees

Is accounting going to die in the future?
20 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>1671169
its dead, jim. way too automatized already.
>>
>>1671169

Accounting will never die, most lawyers just review due diligence and compliance, heck even knowing several languages is a plus for any accountant.

Automation can only go too far, you'll have to supervise that and inference, implicit meanings and abstract thought are out of the picture with reliable automation checks, machines can be exploited very easily. A second pair of eyes is always required so basically take the full money shot with accounting because its the very basis of having a foundational understanding in anything you do and pursue. Heck, Bloomberg wanted his daughter to pursue accounting and its often a basic starting point for /biz/ in general, you need those fundamentals to audit yourself instead of relying on a machine or external third party.
>>
no chance. real world accounting is way to messy to automate

So yeah, what are some ways of creating passive income? Anything thats actualy do-able
