On unemployment right now lads what are some books I can read to enhance my intellectualism

Intellect and knowledge are not synonymous.
A person can be intelligent but lack knowledge on many subjects.
A person can be very knowledgeable about different things but lack a level of intelligence (i.e. aren't that bright).
That being said reading a bunch of books won't "enhance" your intellect, it can increase your knowledge.
>>
You want to get into philosophy if you plan on being at all intellectual.

Start with the classics and go from there.

Ausfags, get in here. This is an emergency thread.

Today, the Australian Government indicated a plan to limit cash payments and potentially remove the $100 note as part of a crack down on the 'black economy'.

http://www.baka.com.au/federal-politics/political-news/future-of-the-100-note-up-for-grabs-as-government-targets-undeclared-cash-payments-20161213-gtakk5.html

I have over $100,000 in $100 notes.

Questions:

1. How much can I legally deposit at bank branches in one day? Assuming I deposited $5,000 per branch over 4 branches per day to avoid suspicion.

2. How much can I deposit per week, or per day, without looking suspicious or being reported?

3. How much can I or should I deposit per year (assuming I even have that long), without being fucked over?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Amerifat here, if the real concern is the fact that the 100 dollar bill will become useless, why dont you deposit at a medium rate, and then go to other banks and casinos and get other currency sizes. Ozzies got a $50 note right? $20s?
>>
Read this today at work.

I'm srsly disgusted at this trend and step by the Government. How much is too much surveillance?

Buy gold with it.

Then when you need to sell the gold and get a check for your bank. As long as it its a bit at a time. 1000 here, 1000 there, etc...

If the govt ever finds out use some creative accounting to explain the deposits.

Can someone explain to me how discount bonds work? Despite trying to teach myself, I still don't really understand how they work. Please, /biz/.
7 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>1668917
newbie here but i'm just guessing.

A bond is basically money lent to an institution in exchange for annual interest. The interest rate is called the coupon.

if the coupon is 0, then the discount is considered the interest. I think thats how they do treasury notes (or bills i forget which is which)
>>
>>1668922
So, essentially it's interest-less bond lending?

Sign up with an online broker and trickle money in to an account. Spend like 1 day a month researching shit and looking at what is happening. Possibly invest in index funds. If you really want to spend time you can find a strategy and go with it but it does take a lot of time to learn how to do fundamental analysis and technical analysis. You have to learn finance to do solid fundamental analysis in the buy and hold strategy on growth stocks of non technology businesses. The main thing is that its gonna take time. And dedication. But, every job does. This one will have you in front of a computer looking at numbers a lot.

>>

It's semi-worthwhile. I'm employed, at least, making ~$50k/year; but the work is horrendously unfulfilling. I was happier as a part-time shitlord making $15k a year but that's not an option now due to loan repayment.
>>
>>1668844
That's fair. Quality of life is an important consideration to make. Unfortunately because you're employed gainfully in the field you studied for, it's unlikely you can appeal for loan forgiveness. Although if you're a proper capitalist, you won't anyways since that's just helping give government reason to grow and steal more money from people (i.e. the rich and middle class) to give to the welfare state.

How about you find something else to make your life fulfilling and keep the job. At some point you might find yourself quite happy with the balance of work/life and fairly good income.

What part time jobs are available that pay at least 50k?

Currently I'm working as a business analyst and I fucking hate it. Pretty much hated all my jobs. Anyways, when I was on college I was working part time making $23 an hour. Now I have a larger skillset. What possibilities are out there?

>>
>>1668733
There really aren't any, unless you are a uniquely talented individual who is in very high demand.

Any job that pays that well will usually want you to work full time. It's like applying to a hospital as a doctor and saying you can only work Tuesdays and Thursdays, but nothing past 6pm.

Or else become your own boss.

If you're too stupid to answer your own question, then you're too stupid to make 50k in a part-time job.

Sure, go ahead and be a freelance programmer. Let me know how it goes.

Whats so bad about wagecuckery? You get some job security and you get to begin a life.

If you really want too there is always day trading after you save up 30K as a wagecuck, or be really fuckin good at swing trading on Robinhood using various metrics you probably learned about in college with less money than 30k.

You can start your own Edward Jones and do financial advising for people but you have to bust your ass and really work for people.

FOMC decision tomorrow, and we have been living above our means for too long. It is only a matter of time until a bubble pops. Obviously we are not going to default on our $19.9 trillion debt, so we will just wait till a bubble bursts. If they do raise rates tomorrow, it could trigger 60% drop or more over a matter of months in DJIA and S&P500 (unless the fed sacrifices the U.S. dollar and causes hyperinflation to save the stock market). Average P/E of S&P is 24.87 at the moment. We only kicked the can down the road in 2008 by keeping interests rates low and we never had a full correction. Now we are in a much worse situation imo.
Banks been putting all their money back at the fed collecting interest since 2009. https://www.federalreserve.gov/releases/h3/current/

We will see what happens.
>>
Tomorrow the Fed will raise interest rates by 0.5% this will send stocks in a tizzy that will last for 3 months. Bullish will turn to 'bullshit!' after a month, major firms will sell stock. The housing construction sector will implode. Oil will go up and plateau raggedly at $72/bbl. Sell any GM stock you have as well as any consumer discretionary or construction. I called it screen save if you want.

You are not liable for anything if your identity is stolen to obtain a credit card.

You have to file a state police report and sign an affidavit. Then you send a copy of the police report and affidavit and a letter stating the fraudulent charges through certified mail to each of the credit bureaus and to all of the stores and parties involved to inform them of the fraud.

You will probably end up having to do this at least ten to twenty times over the course of the first year it is stolen. Your credit may be frozen during this time, so yeah, it is that easy for your shit to get fucked up

How does a 18 year old, with eh credit, get approved for a 5k loan?

What is the loan for?

No one is going to give an 18 year old 5k, if all you want to do is fuck around with shitcoins or you have "an idea" for an app, unless you have a co-signer.

Just trying to get back on my feet.
Was going to use the loan for a car, and to pay off some debt that I have..
>>
>>1668701

Do you currently have a job? What are you doing for transportation right now?

How long would it take you to get ~2k for a beater car?

Put your other debt on hardship deferral. They're actually very lenient with this as long as it hasn't gone into collections. If it's already in collections, then fuck em. Your credit is already ruined, so just hold off on it until you get back on your feet.
