Hello Anons,
I'm creating this thread to gain the opinions of others to see if the business world is for me. When I say this, I mean is there a profitable role in the business world that is tailored to my skill set and there's a good chance of me making profits.
The reason why I'm asking this question is because for the past one to two years, I have been searching for a side business venture. I currently work as a full time police officer and serve in my nation's military part time.
Often times on my days off I feel like I could be making extra money. I already put overtime in both of my jobs and have enough time to do other social/recreational things (i.e. friends, girlfriend, working out, going out etc). I guess you can say I'm looking for another hobby/skill to spice my life up a little bit and at the same time make some money.
I'm not your typical anon looking for some quick get rich scheme. I'm fairly comfortable with life and with what I make/do. Though what I am looking for is something more that's on the side, that's interesting to learn and can make an extra couple bucks a month. I'd figure something in the business world could possibly fulfill that. Hence why I've been looking.
I'm also not a "NEET". I have a major in Criminology and a minor in Social Work. I've also had the opportunity to train at the international level with other military's in terms of tactical training. I volunteer time to time with my nearby community center and have enrolled in additional courses offered by external companies (i.e. conflict resolution).
The catch is that I try to be business minded and have been told growing up. So far I've been relatively smart with my money and save most of the time (60k+ saved and no debts). At the same time, I'm horrible with math and numbers. I've looked into business education but majority of it doesn't seem interesting to learn.
To be continued below. Thank you for reading this so far, it mean's a lot.
Continuation.
Though I find this board particularly entertaining and intriguing. It's cool to see the business community interact and talk about various topics. I guess you can say I'm interested in money making but it's harder than it sounds.
I've consider stocks, e-commerce, real estate and running my own business. Though I don't find that interest spark when I look into those ventures. Futhermore, I also can't think of what skills I could use that would want a customer to buy in. As you read most of my skills is within the law enforcement sector (fitness, tactical, public speaking etc).
I'm not going to ramble on further but to end off, my great grandfather was a great business man. He owned his own sand and gravel company and owned multiple properties. I thought moving forward, someone in my family should follow in his footsteps in some way or another.
So /biz, is business for me? If so, any suggestions on what to look into? If not, then please let me know!

21 year old dude with a BSc in physics, graduated top of my class with close to all A's from a very prestigious university but I've decided I don't want to continue with physics for various reasons. What would be my best bet for getting /biz/? I've considered going into computer engineering with some finance/econ classes mixed in there. I've heard that tons of employers love physicists who can program, better yet physicists who also actually are proper computer/software engineers. Also I assume a mild background in finance/econ wouldn't hurt.
Ultimately I'd like to be an entrepreneur and I think my unique background in physics and (potentially) software development would be perfect for that. Any ideas? Or should I consider something completely different?
>inb4 trades
Also I should say that I already know a fair bit of programming through my physics degree and more importantly I've been doing a lot of programming in my spare time for a couple of years now.

Software + math skills + statistics
That kinda skillset should get you a pretty sweet paycheck in a lot of different industries?

Only a dumb person would believe the lone wolf genius stereotype is in any way representative of most people in the 140+ IQ range. I guess by your logic Einstein isn't a genius because he discussed relativity with his peers. Fuck off.
Where should I invest and why?

Yeah, fuck off, im not investing in memes

every "investor" I know that's incurred 5 figure losses used a mutual fund. One lost 40k in 2008 and the other lost almost double that. Sorry, both are shit. Vanguard offered me a "fund" back in 20010 that would have lost like 40% of its value by now. Fuck off and get woke OP.
I've checked a certain site "valid shop cc"
Is this site legit? anyone have any experience with it? They require a deposit of $25 so I couldn't check how the whole thing works.
Even if it was legit, do they sell physical credit cards or only numbers?
How would a good law abiding citizen go about buying a credit card without ending up in jail?
>>1667460
>How would a good law abiding citizen go about buying a credit card
well considering buying stolen CCs is illegal you wouldn't also theres a lot of variables, what OS are you running? what browser are you running? How do you pay for the stolen credit cards? What do you plan on using them for?
>>1667521
>What OS are you running?
I'm using normieshit w10
>What browser are you running?
Tor ofcourse
>How do you pay?
I was thinking some bitcoin/monero bullshit
>What do you plan on using them for?
This is the biggest problem because I have no idea how I would get the money out without it being traced back to me
>>1667544
in my teenage years I probably sold 100s of stolen CCs and used 10s of them, first off for your OS install TAILs os to a usb then boot it, tor browser is fine (it's built into tails anyway) bitcoin is fine, if you get the physical card with the pin give one to a homeless man, explain you have more - tell him whatever he draws out of the accs he gets 10% of (be sure to make him get receipts) if they just give you the numbers find a local shop without cameras then say to the shop owner you'll give him £5 per parcel you can get delivered to his shop, order stuff on amazon (with prime) collect it the day it's delivered, go a few towns away and trade all the stuff in - honestly though it's not worth it even following all these steps perfectly you're still risking caught - work out how much you pay per card and how much the average card has - then take away all the loss you'd have (paying the hobo/shop/loss from having to resell items) then ask yourself is this amount of profit worth risking spending time in prison for
What happens... in every single place outside of major cities? What the hell do random places in the USA or UK like Nottingham, Dundee, Alabama, Montana even do?
I'm not even underage. I simply have no idea.
management, automotive, finance, manufacturing, mineral extraction, healthcare, education, retail

Yeah, but healthcare, education, services only serve the existing populace (mostly). What the hell they do that's not sustaining themselves? It can't all be natural resources
>>1667411
There will be a small portion of goods production - for example, making widgets for cars or making food for supermarkets.
There will be a large amount of "service industry". Hair dressers, supermarkets, doctors surgery, accountants, lawyers, education etc
There will be a similarly large government bureaucracy.

How the hell do I get into real estate?
1) Get a real estate license
2)Find properties that are on the market
3)Sell properties by communicating with buyers

You can work for yourself or find a property management company to work for.
You can also sell nothing and end up destitute. The choice is yours to make. It's easier in a good market. You have to be high-performing and driven to succeed

Have money.
>open bank
>Friend opens another bank
>Have $1
>loan $9 to friends bank cause of fractional reserve banking
>friend has $9, loans be $81
>loan friend $729
>repeat until we are billionaires
How would this fail?
>he thinks they just gonna let him open a bank like that
what is fucking solvency
>>1667353
Not sure I follow you, OP. You have $1, so a fraction of that stays in your bank and you loan out, say, $0.80. A fraction of that stays in your friends bank and he loans you $0.64. So now you have $0.20 + $0.64, that's $0.84. Don't see how this scheme would work.
I hear the age of SEO is dead cause over saturated market, is this true? Anyone making money off of it?
>>1667281
Gonna have to be more specific, friendo.
Do you mean affiliate marketing? Or doing SEO for companies?
SEO is far from dead. The age of shitty 500 word keyword-stuffed articles is dead, but then again not entirely because small businesses are still paying content writers and link-builders for them.
>>1667536
Affiliate marketing, i want to run some internet business off of that or just any good internet business.
>>1667281
There is no such thing as an over saturated market with SEO. There's literally an endless amount of possibilities. If you are trying to get on the first page of google for the search phrase "make money fast," obviously that will be highly competitive and over saturated. The trick is to just find low competition, high volume niches, and new ones appear all the time. Say for example, a new watch comes out called the Timemaster 5000. You could make an affiliate site with SEO optimized for these search phrases:
>Timemaster 5000 coupon
>Timemaster 5000 review
>should I get the new Timemaster
etc. That's three search terms you could rank for all coming from one product, which is within the watch niche. So in the watch niche alone, there are thousands of affiliate sites that optimize SEO for different keywords. Now imagine fitness. You could do diets, exercise equipment, meal plans, fitness gear, etc. Say you choose diet. You can go deeper. Focus on one specific diet, like the Paleo diet. That's a niche within a niche within a niche. And even narrowed down that much, there are a ton of different search terms you can rank for just within the Paleo diet niche.
That's the cool thing about it. There's an endless amount of topics to make websites about. Beyond that, there's also the whole world that you have access to via the internet. If a topic that you really want to do is over saturated in the US, you can often just copy what the most successful people are doing and translate it to a different language and market it to a different country.
To sum it up, you have an endless list of niches, products, interests. And then tons of ways you can put a unique angle on them. That leads to literally millions of possibilities. On top of that, you have foreign markets that are largely untapped. Finding a niche isn't too hard. Getting your site to page one on Google is where it gets more time consuming and difficult.
Welcome to the dark art of social manipulation. You get a thick, big and strong erection when you see a naked women. Likewise, you can get popular if you push people's emotional buttons just right. When you get people to like you, you get free drinks, easy job promotions and more dates.
The social game is strategic. Unfortunately nobody taught you this in school; you learned by trial and error. The popular kids in high school "gets it". In the working world, those with better social skills will get better jobs and easier promotions even if they're below average skilled, ie the scheming Jew becomes the CEO through social connections or the incompetent secretary who got the promotion by sucking over 9000 dicks.
Here are the strategies you want to follow.
1. Show, don't tell. Never brag about your accomplishments or drop names. Instead, let people see your accomplishments on Linkin or your vacation pictures on Instagram. People are noisy, voyeuristic creatures who love snooping - that's why the best selling magazines of all times are celebrity gossip magazines. People are more infinitely more impressed when they "spied" on your vacation via Instagram than you outright bragging about your vacation. Better yet, let others brag about your vacation.
2. Praise people. How do you come across as sincere even if you have seething contempt for them? Praise occasionally. "Nice haircut! Did you lose weight? You look good today etc." Some people fall into the trap and overly praise which makes the compliment seem insincere. You'll get an intuitive feel when to praise without crossing the line. Praise everyone, even the obnoxious cunt at the office - you want her to be on your side? Why? Because even plebs in numbers can wield power, ie fat tumblrsettes and keyboard social justice warriors. When you help the weak, old and young, people will immediately like you. Politicians know this, hence kissing the baby on every televised election.
>>1667273
3. Have Patrick Batemen tier level of hygiene, dress style and fitness. People subconsciously want to associate with winners. After all nobody respects a fat slob with bitch tits. Since you have the discipline and will power to dress well with impeccable hygiene, what other amazing things you have in your life, they wonder. Curiosity will drive them to WANT to be your friend. It's no secret that people judge by appearance - use this to your advantage.
4. Develop a caricature version of yourself. People get famous on TV by playing a role - David Rempsey is famous for throwing a tantrum, PieDiePew is famous for screaming at the screen like a autistic (he made $7 millions off youtube last year), Simons from American Idol is famous for making mean comments at bad contestants. You can make yourself known as the "funny and intelligent guy" or "the guy who travels the world" or "the guy who is popular with the ladies" The worse thing you can is the boring nobody. Never express your insecurities and fears. Let people see the caricature you.
5. Send them a happy birthday card and New Year card, via email or post card. Create a template for your class mates or co-workers to save time. Something like "It's been a pleasure working with you. Who's awesome? You're awesome. I wish you the best of luck and make this an amazing year. See you at work tomorrow!"
>>1667278
6. Got an invitation? Turn them down. Since normies are boring, you want to strategically hang out with them. For every 2 invites the send, turn down one. This implies you're a busy person who values your time and hence, people will treat you with respect. All of this is done without saying a word.
7. Only say positive or neutral things about people. Never gossip, even if you have seething contempt for them. It's easy to talk behind a co-worker's back. But the person you're gossiping with thinks you talk shit about him also. Remain neutral on the topic, even if you have a strong opinion.
8. Your time has high value. Never get used by people who repeatedly ask you for requests but give no value in return. Turn them down by saying no. Tell them you're not an expert in this subject matter. Never ever waste your time with a fucking pleb. Occasionally you'll come across an idiot - never argue or pick a fight. Nod your head, smile and locate the nearest exit.
9. Appear to have no agenda, even if you have one. People have a hard time buying from a sale man but an easy time buying from a friend. You want to come across as genuine and sincere. Don't try too hard to offer help or freely give people things (remember the try hard kid in class who always raise his hand first or brown nose the teacher by offering help?) Be selective in giving your time, money and praises. Strange fact in life: the more you give people free stuff/time/effort, the more likely they are to abuse you.
>>1667273
Ughhh another le edgy social manipuator thread...
Really gotta disagree with point no. 1.
You have to brag, you said it yourself people are noisy. People don't give a fuck about you, they aren't investigating you, they're too wrapped up in their own shit. That's why you need to brag a little bit, don't be Donald Trump on the podium (although look at the way he builds himself up, 60% of the time he doesn't say it directly), but you need to frame the conversation about yourself, because as far as other people are concerned you're a blank slate. That's the worst thing you can be if you want to be a Machiavellian master par excellance.
I do agree with part no. 2. It's the best advice you can ever give anyone.
Not sure what you mean by point 4? How does that work in everyday life?
no. 5 isn't a bad idea
you might be onto something about no. 6
no. 7 is a good one. Self preservation! You never know when an errant bad comment will come back to haunt you.
No. 9 is interesting... it worked well for some historical figures, Stalin comes to mind. But then look at someone like Steve Jobs who made his agenda abundantly clear all the time. I think this is one where you have to match it to your personality.
I see pic related linked a lot, and I work in healthcare IT. It seems like the "common sense" advice is to just save as much as I can, and invest in diversified stock index funds (moving from high growth to low risk as I get older).
So what's the point of reading on the subject? Will it offer me any benefit whatsoever?
Ignorance is bliss I guess.
>>1667244
>So what's the point of reading on the subject? Will it offer me any benefit whatsoever?
Well geez anon, what's the point in learning about auto repair, or carpentry, or the art of letter writing? The real question is what is your interest/commitment to the subject, if you investigate it thoroughly enough you will get some benefit. Also finance is a multi-pronged, complex discipline with many subsets some of which are more useful to the average punter than others, and also depend on your industry, personal wealth, income, and even geography.
But I'll stress it again: how interested are you?
That's the only question you should ask yourself, if you're not interested focus on healthcare IT, get really super-good at that, learn about climbing the greasy pole and how to negotiate for promotions and personal branding so you can increase your salary.

last time I declared bankruptcy you had to pay on a debt for at least a year for it to be discharged rather than having the sale reversed and that debt remain. Of course if they can't reverse any of your sales you'll probably be charged with fraud.

So check out my idea, I just created a page in which you can pay $1 for me to be able to put a direct link of whatever product or services you are affiliated with. I plan to accept unlimited links so I'll be posting them on a daily basis. I really think it's a $1 well spent because if the site goes viral and heavy traffic people can browse through the links and actually buy something so that $1 will work for you forever or until the page goes down.
The address of the page is www.theaffiliatewall.com and I would like your opinion guys. What do you think? Is this just stupid?
Its not a bad idea - but you are going to have a hard time getting people to pay you $1 because people dont know your skills - Other ways to use affiliate marketing - For example I teach people how to make money , they dont have to pay me anything onlything i ask is that they use my affiliate link, once they do that as long as they are making money i get a small percentage of their success - everyone wins
I'm not selling any skills. Just a space for your link in my page. That's it.
>>1667170
Why would anyone browse this with the intent to buy anything? You seriously think people interested in buying something are going to scroll through (theoretically) pages of affiliate links likely padded with sketchy links to find the product they're looking for?
