Okay biz, I need advice. I'm kind of stuck in a shit predicament. In September, I got into a car accident. I got hit by a pub-lix semi truck on a highway. Long story short, they came to the conclusion that it was my fault. I had bare minimum insurance (pip) so they didn't cover my damages. (Here is where I need some advice) My car is fucked. I have no transportation to work or school. I have no family to help (besides mom which is where I live but she doesn't care to help me.) I don't have good enough credit to finance a car or even the funds if I wanted to. I don't have savings. I was working a shit part time job just to put gas in my car and to eat. now, I have been missing work due to lack of transportation. My gf is threatening to leave me. My life went down the drain ever since the dumb ass car accident. I just need a new car and all of my problems will go away. I'd know better and would save more and possibly get a second job while in college. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

How do I go about finding a pro bono attorney to discuss my business's legal structure, licenses/permits, and an employment contract?
I went to my city's chamber of commerce and they said they can't really help me but gave me some numbers to call that might help. One was a number for legal aid and the other was the district attorney's number. I called the legal aid which is what they recommended first obviously and they said they don't just have a list of pro bono or retired attorneys and that I would need to contact a private attorney. How would I go about finding a pro bono private attorney for my busniess?

Pretty much any service industry that doesn't require strict contractor licenses that take years to attain like plumbing, HVAC, electrician, etc.
Starting a janitorial business would probably be the easiest and low cost business to start. Just buy equipment, a business license, and liability insurance. Then start calling businesses. You don't really need to do any market research or anything. Just ask what they are currently paying then offer $X less. Talk about how your business is a small local business so you're more convenient and everything. Come up with a sales pitch.
My Dad basically did this. He was a dead end janitor all his life. Finally said fuck dealing with $11/hour and shitty managers, he was starting his own. He spent about $2,700 on equipment and starting calling places where he used to clean for working for other companies and undercut them. He started doing $3,000 a month GROSS in his first 2 months and now after 3 years he's hired 3 employees (other janitors he used to work with) and does like $800K a year in revenue. He cleans for churches, doctor's offices, banks, an eye care place, and about 17 Sprint Mobile stores within the region. Churches are probably the easiest to get in to first.

I got hired on the marketing team with a ~$60k salary in a "managerial" position. The marketing team is really small--less than 5 people.
There was nothing about equity or stock options in my contract. Should I ask HR? How do I ask? How much should I ask for and what are the standard terms?
I'm also going to ask my colleagues to see if they have options. I've already signed the contract though, which was dumb of me.

How do I stop feeling depressed about other people's success?
I am in my 25th year of my life and have accomplished absolutely nothing.
It is too late in this lifetime to kick start a career in finance and make millions.
It is too late in this lifetime to start scientific research and contribute anything meaningful.
It is too late to start training and become an elite sports athlete.
It is too late to hope to become fluent in multiple languages.
Whatever I try to achieve will be nothing but a shadow compared to someone starting towards the same goal 20 years ago.
I don't mean to spread crab mentality with this thread, but if something as simple as a chess app can throw me into a depression pit - I need some advice from the success-board. How can I possibly focus on starting a business or getting education or lifting in the gym when I know that the upper bound is mediocrity at best. How am I possibly meant to be social/positive and "network" to reach success when I shoot myself. How do I stop falling into a frenzy of envy whenever I interact with someone successful? How do I keep being organised when others will view me as nothing more than a mediocre try hard?
Advice? Sorry for venting and any grammar errors.
