I plan in long term economic trends and invest in such. Options and futures I have no idea because I don't have time to do so much analysis on all these stocks or put stocks quarterly earnings reports on my calender.

I made one decent guess on an option to short GM and made like $138 once but I was drunk. Its not my style to guess shorr term valuations.

Your point is valid. Beginners have to pay money in the beginning, but education costs money everytime so just keept going, learn about the stock market, inform youself about the companies you want to invest in bevore you do so and dont listen to voices glorifiing a certain stock.
