money isn't real

it's more real than you are
>>1760149
Then why do you accept in exchange for strangers fucking your butt hole?

damn
taxes are theft and stocks are a scam btw
I don't understand how people can be this dumb. I refuse to believe it.
Because people are bad at predicting future. Usually crisis begins when you lose your steady flow of income, you start to borrow to cover the decrease in income (because nobody wants to degrade their quality of life). And then you are off for a ride.
Then there's the bad knowledge of interest rates (and real interest rates) and the belief of ever lasting growth.
because many people just dont care. if they can have something they want today they'll take it, even if it can come back to hurt them in the future.
>>1760140
>tfw you're utilitarian as fuck
I have no idea how they do it. Even on my meager wage i can get by.
I get on a lot of mailing lists for investment dinners, most are chicken cordon blue, but last one was a thick cut of prime rib.
These events are usually full of old people, especially old ladies.
It amazes me how smart people like a doctor who's kid I went to school with thought the salesman had a good investment... she had all her money in chase (probably paying over 1% expense).
What does /biz/ think of going to these events for a free meal, and trying to convert his prospects, to my .35% fee retirement planning service that just does a 70/30 split between stocks/bonds.
His product was a fixed indexed annuity
>>1760058
you get free food to listen to bullshit?
>>1760080
yes of course!
It was amazing prime rib, normally you get chicken breast with ham+ cheese
>>1760058
Well I mean if you're being honest, and you have a legitimate business for people and the knowledge to do it, then by all means why not?
It doesn't sound like you're scamming people at all. If 70/30 stocks and bonds is satisfying your customers enough to stick with you, then good for you.
How dumb is it to opt out of health insurance benefits to get $500 more a month?
I'm thinking I don't need health insurance since I'm young and more than willing to take the risk.
>>1759993
It makes sense if you aren't sick and don't take any prescription medication. I haven't had health insurance for the past year and get tax exemptions so I don't have to pay the penalty. Just try not to get hurt

What is a Tradiing ETF and how do I invest? Total newfag to investing.
It seems that the only way to make some money off cryptotrading is to know about bubbles in advance / in their initital phase.
Any tips on where I can get that information?
You just have to be right 51% of the time.
Research each coin. See what the internet community thinks of them. Watch the charts.
Watch rumors. Start researching. Form your own opinions. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Go get it, Anon. I know you can do this. You just gotta do it. And then, you'll be doing it. And once that happens, well then, heh, you're doing it, alright.
>>1759987
Just accumulate a bunch of different coins at a low price and be patient.
>>1760008
>See what the internet community thinks of them
Could you advise any sites?
>Watch rumors.
Where? Don't say /biz/.
1) finance
2) economy
3) management
4) smth else?
how about
>open an account
>start trading

It's monkey-trading, without understanding
It's not /biz, it's fortuity
>>1759959
most of the people that make real money trading their own accounts have learned to trade somewhere else. over the years ive talked to a lot of great traders, what they all had in common was that they learned the ropes somewhere else before going out on their own. they either started at banks/prop firms/hedge funds and learned there or they had a mentor type of relationship with someone that learned at one of those places. the idea of some random, uneducated person making a killing in markets is largely a myth. not to say that it never happens, but the chances of it happening to you is so low its almost non-existant.
Hello Biz, I have found an excellent location for a 24Hour Cafe near a university, the monthly rent is around 10,000$ which is understandable for the location and I would assume I would need a total of 20,000$ for furniture and 3 months salaries. I would need 250 Customers a day to break even. This is considering I want to make it ultra-fordable at 1-2$ Coffee and free wifi. After establishing dependeability by students I plan on moving forward with other sources of income. Any advice for your aspiring anon?
>>1759895
WATCH THOSE WRIST ROCKETS!!!
I wouldn't do it - food and beverage have extremely bad success stats. What other ideas have you got?
Talk to potential customers first and see if they want it. At a university this should be easy. If they don't want one don't build it.
How many businesses nowadays are actual meritocracies?
Do your bosses pay and promote people based on actual talent and ability?
Help me out here /biz/, I want to find out whether actually companies do this or I'm chasing an empty, unfulfillable dream
In my experience they try to. But, very often, what they are looking for is NOT what the employee thinks they are looking for.
Working hard, putting extra hours, that's all invisible to management.
It's a sales pitch, like everything else in life. You have to self-promote, make yourself visible, do extra in ways that add value without adding time like taking a leadership role in projects without being asked. Things like this
github. look how that turned out
>>1759888
Talent at upper-management is based around your ability to socialize and lead your suboordinates
Without presenting those you will never succeed beyond wagecuck jr. level.
Hey /biz/. I know you'll find this amusing. I had to share this.
My friend who has been unemployed for a while got a job at McDonald's last week. They offered him a $500 signing bonus. I think it's odd and uneconomical that fast food places are offering signing bonuses to new hires. You're supposed to be a wage cuck. Signing bonuses are for salaried workers or those climbing up the corporate ladder, not a the bottom. I can see the franchisee is way too generous and their workers at the lower end are fleecing the company.
We have close to 30% unemployment in the United States. Why offer signing bonuses when there's 30% unemployment?
>>1759717
>We have close to 30% unemployment in the United States.
>>1759720
The unemployment was recalculated under the Obama administration so that it was made to look good. Same thing happened in the Clinton administration.
There are large swaths of the country that haven't grown economically since the Reagan administration. Many places are contracting.
>>1759729

Wow, you're so knowledgeable and above the rest, anonymous 4chan user l4slkJm! This is why I like, comment, and subscribe to all of your posts!
>the STEM meme
I'm not smart or motivated enough to actually become an expert in a niche field, and will probably be a codemonkey.
I'm 2,5 years in, should I quit?
it sucks, but what are your alternatives?
99% of people's lives suck
exceptions are famous instagrammers/youtubers/anything that takes 0 effort and big profits
actual geniuses like john carmack actually enjoy the technological work because its like a game for them
>>1759645
Just get your undergrad in STEM and then just get a grad degree in whatever the fuck you want
>t. Physics major who ended up getting his masters in Behavorial Economics
But of course, switch if you think that will help. If you hate your major and/or don't have the ability to pass with a high GPA, quit and pick something easier.
A HIGH GPA IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER IN COLLEGE
A good GPA means good graduate school and/or better internships (did I mention, get a fuck load of internships? Because you should also be focusing there!!!)
>>1759658
who would hire a guy that did mostly physics then a masters in economics for economic stuff?
in any case you are most likely autistic, someone like me can't get physics, math, CS, or anything that would be useful along with a masters in economics
so I dont have many other options but NEETting, it sure beats wagecucking. i make 300 usd from adsense and i fuck 8/10 escorts while most people beat it.
I don't want to be a wageslave anymore
>>1759575
it's your fault that you are not rich!
>>1759633
Capitalism is shit.
my stepdad is offering to pay for my university (can't be community college) but it has to be under 20K per year and my grades were shit(3.0 with GED and average SAT).
The only places in my state that fulfill this are SHIT-tier.. not even ranked on college ranking sites, don't have engineering programs unless you count (3-years-of-physics + 2-years-at-a-real-university transfer-program) thing where they give you a physics and engineering bachelors after 5 years... should I just do it anyway even if the colleges are absolute shit since it's free? Should I just go for an associates and then transfer somewhere else and gtfo out of dodge that way?
I feel like I have a really good opportunity here but with a huge catch and I don't know what the best option is.
Swallow your pride and go to a Community college
>>1759553
no, i'm saying he won't pay for community college.
>>1759555
Why the fuck not? ItsIt's the same as going to a shitty college. Well then go to a shitty college.
Why?
Also, does this actually mean that technically you could buy this share at around $600 on some mornings and sell them for $850 a couple minutes later? What is this madness?
>>1759532
shitty Q4 report
>>1759538
it's most likely not correct. what exchange is that supposed to be on?
Why can't I find a job?
2.5 GPA What the fuck...
>>1759522
>Got lazy and had my 6yo write my resume
If that's what youre handing in for job applications you might want to reconsider remaking it. Pad it up, as a college grad you should be capable of much more.
>>1759522
Because your resume is fucking ugly, look at the lettering, background and layout, I wouldn't hire anyone who doesnt bother presenting themselves nicely. I bet you wore a fucking hawaiian t-shirt to your interview
