Daily reminder that having employees is not worth the hassle, either as a business owner or manager in a company.
To max out your earnings you need to make a choice:
If you can sell, get into sales. 200k USD is very doable if you are selling the right product, plus accelerators for over achievement.
If you cannot sell focus on building your skills and network until you can become a consultant. People with enough skills can charge $1000 per day or more.
You might think it's worth getting employees to scale out your earning power, but it's not. Employees will never care about your business as much as you do.

Tell me how your currency trading/bitcoin/affiliate marketing business is working out, loser. I grossed over 20k USD this month (Sales Rep), and even if I sell nothing I make at least 10.
OK
What is "sales"

>Daily reminder that having employees is not worth the hassle, either as a business owner or manager in a company.
employees aren't a hassle to a business owner. Only to managers.
your mistake is assuming an owner must also be a manager. This isn't true. So while you're laboring under your mistaken assumption, millions of business owners are making far more money than you with far less work.
>>1763508
Strange how basically all of history is proving you wrong and large corporations with heaps of employees are often among the most stable and profitable businesses. Guess the people responsible for like 80% of world GDP haven't yet seen the light as you apparently did. Bunch of idiots scaling their business models up, when they could be smart and labour away themselves all the time!
What's the first thing you're going to buy after you make it?

Would you consider me successful if I told you I was running my own accounting firm at the age of 27?
>>1763370
Doing your mom's taxes for 10$ doesn't count as running an accounting firm, anon.
>>1763370
depends on how successful the firm is. people can own any type of business and run it, but if it's a meme and doesn't generate any profit then that's not successful
I recently decided to put all my money into a 3.2% high-interest account (25k DOL/20k EUR).
So you might ask: "why would this be a negative thing?".
Well, the twist is: I can't withdraw the money if i'm not using them to BUY a house/pay down a house, i can use it as equity so i need to loan less.
I knew about this before i deposited the money, but i don't really need money really soon. So i decided to put it all in the 3.2% account because i'm going to buy a house later anyways.
Important
* When i use any of the money from the account (on buying a residential), the interest with stop adding up.
* I will keep getting interest until the year i'm 33 yrs old. (Or until i use some of the money).
Additional notes:
I'm 19 years old
I live in Norway
No plan of moving out until the age of about 25.
I'm currently working, so it's not like i'm in a crisis right away.
Currently no drivers licence but i'm still getting salary each month, so i can afford it.
I'm having a decent releationship with my mom, she will let me stay home until i'm 25-27 if i want.
Main question is if i should:
A: Keep filling the interest account until its fully maxed out? It can hold a total of 72K DOL/67K EUR.
B: Continue saving for emergency fund + saving for general things.
>>1763310
Lookup some rough numbers for mortgages in Norway.
How much does a starter home cost in an area you want to live?
As a first-time buyer, what % down does the bank require for a mortgage?
Those two give you an idea of how much to save for your house. Your emergency fund is up to you (6-12 months living expenses).
3.2% is a shit return though, and you're young, so put anything beyond that amount in a globally diversified portfolio of equities.
>>1763507
Do you have real estate listings in Norway?
What bank do you use? Does their website have a section for mortgages?
>>1763530
OP here (from work PC). I use a bank named "Nordea" It's also used in a few other scandinavian countries. You need to have 15% equity to loan cash for house.
> Do you have real estate listings in Norway?
What do you mean? I can lookup prices of people selling their houses, if that is what you mean.
/biz/ I am finishing up my MBA in may and after years of grad school I need a break.
How long of a break is acceptable before employers get concerned?
Get an offer letter before graduating and call up our boss and explain you want to go on a holiday before starting work. most companies will be fine with this.
>>1763269
What kind of a break? How long do you want to take a break?
It's going to be a huge red flag when you start applying. If you need a break after getting your degree it signals you don't have a strong work ethic. Say after working a year or two at a new company, are you going to say you "need a break"?
>>1763278
Like a month long break. 2 weeks of vacation and 2 of r and r.
I currently work 30 hours a week in an internship and go to 3 classes.

I have a question about retirement projections from 401(k) companies. When I put in my current income, it gives me an income goal for retirement which is a little more than half my current income. Let's say I make 50k, it tells me that my goal should be 30k. It then tells me that with my current saving strategy, I will have a 35k income, or something like that. Now, a person may be able to live on that today, but I won't retire until 2055, when 35k will be pocket change due to inflation. Is the goal given in today's dollar, but I will actually make more when I retire, in accordance with inflation? Or will I be in poverty when I retire despite saving over 2 million?
>>1763229
I think 401ks are supposed to be invested in a way that beat inflation, but then again I do not pay much attention to them as I expect to be dead long before I could withdrawal penalty free anyhow.
>>1763229
For whatever reason, most retirement calculators online don't seem to account for inflation.
Easiest way to deal with this is to ignore inflation entirely and adjust your expected rate of return accordingly. Ex. if your investments have an expected rate of return of 7% and you expect inflation to average 3%, use 4% as your expected rate of return in calculations.
>>1763263
Here's an example. Vanguard is nice enough to call out the fact that they don't account for inflation.
That said, I think a lot of people are misled by these calculators, put in their 401k's 10 year average return without adjusting for inflation, and end up saving way less than they'll eventually need.

Why would you absolutely need to find a co-founder to start a startup ?
I've got an idea on which I'm working on. The project will be out in a few months. If it works, I'll have enough money to hire some employees in order to do the work I'm doing right now, while I would work to develop the business.
But what a co-founder would be useful for, except taking 50% of my shit ?
>>1763188
>But what a co-founder would be useful for
Keeping the company alive after you're hit by a bus. Which is pretty important for investors.
>>1763188
>Taking 50% of your shit.
You need a co-founder to give your company backbone.
Alone, you have $2500, 1set of hands, one mind, and can do a limited amount of stuff.
With a co-founder, (A good co-founder) you have $5000, an extra set of hands, and can do twice as much.
A leader is just another person if no one is fallowing him.
>>1763188
Is it a tech company?
If yes, do you want another technically competent founder or someone who has "business" experience?
Do you know here to find a co-founder?
It can be quite challenging to find someone who actually WANTS to work, trust me, been there done that.

What does /biz/ think of this guy
Pretty cool huh(casually walks around his expensive rented cars and rented house). I got this with knaaaaahhhhhledge
>>1763121
He just rents all that shit. The only reason he is "successful" is by people falling for his bullshit. If you like this guy you'd probably be the kind of person to buy a pet rock or trumpcoin.
>>1763121
The most valuable info you can get from this guy is the way he promotes himself/his "67 steps" program rather than the actual content is selling. You can actually learn a LOT by carefully paying attention to his advertising/viral marketing techniques. Watch his videos, follow his twitter, and instagram. Everything this guy says, posts, etc is carefully written and designed to sell. His first "here in my garaage" video was easily one of the best direct marketing campaigns in the last few years, and it didn't even have huge production value. Just a couple rented exotics and a AirBNB in the Hollywood Hills (although now he has enough cash to actually rent the place lol).
Is going all in on MSCI World stupid? I want to save 500 bucks a months for 10-20 years and have not much knowledge of the stock market and don't want to give much effort into it eg watching charts every day. And no I don't want Emerging Markets.

My mom is demanding I find a job. There's a call center hiring full-time near me.
Should I work there?
>>1763001
Why not go for a telemarketing center? Minimum wage either way, equaully shit-tier work, but at least you can improve at it and get more commision.
If you really excel you even get to have non-shit jobs within the company.
>>1763001
No, work construction because you get paid more and its basically being paid to get in shape.
