Who /sales/ here?
What are your tips and tricks?
My job is essentially sales, people come to me for a service and my job is essentially to build up the value of that service than quote them a price which is entirely at my discretion. I'm still kinda new and have had the problem where I quote some people way too low and others way too high.
Hey I have been in direct/phone sales for quite some time now.
Here is a quick summary of my system which can be applied to almost all sales.
System
First I start with the 3's 5's and 8's
3s - Steps to the INTRO
Smile - Eye Contact - Enthusiasm
abr. SEE
5's - Presentation
Intro
Short Summary/Story
Presentation - these two are the pitch - so basically the problem / solution you provide
Close - get the money
Preserve/Rehash - keep the money and get more
abr. isPCP
8's Effective Work Habits
Positive Attitude
Attitude Management/Maintenance
Be on Time
Be Prepared
Work a FULL day
Work your territory correctly
Know your GOAL
Take Control
abr. PABBWWKT - pronounced pABBWorkout
People have impulses - figure out which impulses for each person and USE them
Sense of Urgency - instill the customer with the feeling that they must buy TODAY!
Jones Effect - Using the fact that thousands of the people in their community have purchased - they should not be left off
Fear of Loss - Making them feel they will miss out if they do not purchase -
This one is particularly effective when used with other so give them a good deal tell them that others have bought it and there is a limited supply - if they don't want the deal now it will cost them more in the future - It is important to note that you must be willing to walk away from a potential sale in order to back up that this a good deal and that others will simply want it - puts the pressure on them
Greed - Appeal to their sense of control and Money
Indifference - Use a CALM tone - NEVER surrender control : VERY IMPORTANT
Guilt - obvious
there are obviously others but you can simply look into behavioral studies to see the different impulses - keep in mind some of them can get quite complex
LAW of AVERAGES
Most, if not all, sales is about NUMBERS - the more opportunities taken the more likelihood of a sale.
Would you like me to continue? - I have quite a few more tips but this is a good start.
One of the things that is important for you in particular - sorry I just read your full post AFTER I posted mine.
The most important aspect is KNOWING your WORTH.
My father had the same issue being an independent electrical contractor - sometimes he would under-quote people but not make as much BUT have a lot of work.
I told him just charge more you are worth more than 50 an hour - one day he got back to me and said you know you were right - he started charging 70/80 an hour AND surprise surprise all of a sudden he had MORE customers because people felt that because he charged more that he would do a better job than some schmuck charging 40/50 an hour - and they would be more satisfied with the service.
Keep in mind you most likely have to build an established brand for yourself first - once you have a good name then you can service a different stratum of people who are willing to pay more and usually are more relaxed about things.
Think about you getting a service -
if you pay 40 an hour for an electrician you might expect him to be very busy because he is cheap and therefore his work might be lower quality.
Whereas if you are paying 80 an hour for the same person - you expect him to be an artisan in the field, he knows he can get away with that price because he wouldn't charge it otherwise if he couldn't - you also have less worries about theft or any accidents/mistakes because he will surely take his time to ensure the best possible job at that price level.

>sell benefits not features
>explain full scope of service before telling them anything about price, but tell them immediately after explaining the service so they don't get irritated like you're dodging the question
>don't be a "how are the wife and kids" suck up faggot, people can smell that from a mile away
>set realistic goals every day

They invest your unsettled funds after a trade. It's also pretty basic shit.
> When is it coming to my country?
Never. They only have "plans" on an Australian beta.
> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, email their support. They are very good.
> Is this the place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
NO! THIS IS 4CHAN, A PLACE OF POLITENESS AND PROFESSIONALISM!!!
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform. -- (also learn difference between LIMIT and MARKET orders!!!)
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want a 2nd account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.
>How do I git gud?
Search for press releases. Don't listen to any advice in this thread.
> Can I use Robinhood on my PC?
Yes, download an android emulator

I'm in my first year of uni and planning on joining a society next year to increase my chance of getting a good placement in my third year. The issue is none of the societies look interesting or fitting for me except the Muay Thai society. Will this help my chances despite the fact it isn't an "academic" society?
How does society membership affect the likelihood of getting a placement?
Define "society". Define "placement".
I don't know what these are. Placement for what? Are societies just campus clubs?
Okay /biz/.
You're writing a free web-comic in manga style.
List all the ways you can possibly think of monetizing it!
Note that you have already invested in high quality material and only the finest cup noodles - you have a little under $500 for advertising and self publishing if that's even possible.
>>1756715
If its possible sell merchandise of it assuming it has a big enough following.
Shirts, pins, stickers and stuff on sites like red bubble are an easy way to get into that since they handle print and distribution though they obviously take a cut of each sale. Save up enough to buy a t shirt printing machine, and then try selling shirts off your own website as exclusive prints or whatever to cash out better I guess. Maybe reach out to a publisher and see if you can find any good offers to get your shit on shelves and marketed.
All I can think about off the top of my head, good luck anon.

Yooooooo, I just found these mangos in my basement.
I'm surprised they're mint condition, pretty neat.

On top of that, once every couple of years tap into some political hot potato to drum up pity-money for a kickstarter e.g. My hot Hispanic girlfriend has all my insulin and is trapped on the other side of Trumps wall, pls help us charter a private jet pls guise or I'll be too dead to draw the strip you all love. Kickstarter, GoFundMe, whatever.
Branch out into blogging/vlogging. Monetise that shit. Get some skilled pajeet to turn your strip into animated shorts.
Invent a charity. Embezzle all the donations.
I made over €100 profit today by reslling soldout event tickets. Couldve been a lot more if I bought more tickets. I guess perhaps i was lucky to find a good event, but is this a good long term source of income? I would guess this 'market' is oversatuurated, but appearantly I was able to make good money off it
>>1756643
>is this a good long term source of income
nothing in life is except for an actual job with benefits.
>>1756643
sometimes people like that are lynched by the angry mob tho and beaten half to death for selling overpriced tickets they bought up before the even.

I am in an industry where contracting is fairly prevalent (software), and I am considering forming my own C corp and having my company pay my company directly, then paying myself minimum wage from my company. I'd also want to sell my car and house to the company so that the company owns all of my assets. I want to own as little as possible and pay myself just enough for living expenses and some extra to dump into a retirement account.
Is this a good idea? Would I come out on top tax-wise with this strategy? What other suggestions would you have for me?
To clarify: I meant to have my employer pay my company directly.
>>1756473
Don't corporations pay a huge flat tax on all profit?
>>1756473
If you are in the US, you'd pay a higher corporate income tax rate than if you took that as personal income.
Maybe an S-corp is a better solution.
And the car and house will be compensation to you for the portion not used for business purposes.
Is soil erosion a major problem?
How will this affect the economy within the next 50 years, if at all, and will it lead to a spike in the cost of living?
>>1756409
Bump for interest
Any way to provide off of this besides investing in agriculture-related biotech and desalination?
>>1756409
>Is soil erosion a major problem?
Yes.
Especially in Africa and now China where the desert is literally growing every day. Chinese Arable land is decreasing every year.
Now, how to profit?
10 years ago, I would have told you to buy Potash, but that boat has left the dock, made a great run, and now crashed & burned.
I'd stay away from commodities (fertilizers/Potash) and look at AquaTech..
But you don't make any money trying to install wells for 3rd world Niggers who can't pay for shit anyways.

I'm on the fence. It seems like a short term cash grab, and stock markets are loving it (pic related €4000 in under one year), but long term maybe trashing the environment and going towards protectionism is bad?

Who told you that? (((scientists))) ? yeah they sure know everything.

China and Japan already do it.

How the fuck do I get a minimum wage job(excluding restaurants cause those are slave labor)?
I get way more interviews by flat out sending them my contact information than a meme resume.
Every interview it's the same shit. "We picked someone more experienced." Every fucking time. I could get 10 interviews this week and fail every fucking one.
Laws have been made that disincentivize companies from providing honest feedback so don't worry about that. The real reasons probably have to do with you being vulgar and unkempt.
>>1756302
What experience do you have? If you have none, get a job in fast food or at a restaurant washing dishes
this yuppie thinks he's too good to work at mcdonalds even though he has never had a job. terrible attitude to have
Looking for a guideline on what books I should read to become a more informed/better investor. Either fiction or non-fiction is fine.
Does anyone have an order I should read?
Also, is the intelligent investor still a must read?

Intelligent Investor is great, it's a great value investing book but also a great book on building a solid, rational foundation on stock investing. Very powerful book.
