I have a few predictions.
>E-commerce will take over shopping centers (it pretty much has at this point), grocery shops too but I'm skeptical
>grocery shops will become automatized to compete with E-commerce (see Amazon go)
>manufacturing industry in Western countries will become largely automized too and because of Trump's protectionism China will go in a recession
>Bangladesh will get flooded causing 100 million people to migrate to other Asian countries
>because of these tensions the price of gold will go up
>Africa's population will continue to grow causing even more tensions and famines

>inb4 anyone with half a brain can see these things coming
Of course anyone can see this coming, but that's not the point. I'm just giving hints on how you can profit from these things.

Hey /biz/, so recently my father passed away, which leaves me with grief and $120,000+ in life insurance. As much as I hate how I got the money, it still doesn't change the fact that I have it, so, I figure that I'd put it to use.

I will be paying about $40,000 for college, scholarships and grants will take care of the rest.

I also will take $10,000 as "play money", which I can use on clothes, electronics, etc. Should last me quite a while.

That being said, what should I do with the remaining $70,000? I just turned 18, so I don't know if that will effect my options, but all suggestions are welcome. Also, I have about $77,000+ in an inherited retirement account, any tips or suggestions on that will also be appreciated and useful. Thanks.

If you don't already have emergency savings, put $10k in some kind of high yield savings account and do not touch it unless you have an emergency. Yields on these accounts are very low now, but your emergency fund needs to be in something with no market risk and quickly accessible. With the rest of the money, put it in some diversified mutual funds/ETFs. If you have a retirement account like an IRA or a Roth IRA, max out your annual contribution. If you don't have one, open one.

I have an idea to to start a business of pants that charge your phone when you put the phone into your pocket.

I've done all the science and I can make it work but I'm not sure who to market it towards originally. I was thinking Young Females since they have a lot of cash and really love their phones.

I did a survey of 9 people and 6 said they would buy it.

I'm hoping the initial cost will be $150, and considering how people buy smart watches and fitbits it doesn't seem too high for an initial product.

What do you guys think of my idea? And who should I market it to?

I'm not a very social person so I can't sell the idea very well by just speaking about it, what should I do?

i dropped out from some random economist school, after 2 years all i learned about the job was that you are supposed to click properly to book things on the PC like a monkey and calculate stuff similarly to long division that should be fucking automated in the first place. It might be quite different if you are going for some "real" useful jobs higher up though. Also when randomly googled it told me that profession is #1 in unemployed statistics for my country.
>>
>>1758777
because that shit is the first thing that is going to die.

accounting isn't science ffs, it is just putting a fuckaton amount of data into a predefined spreadsheet.

it is the definition of a monkey job

ur talkin about book keeping, which is fucking stupid.

if you wana do accounting and make it viable, then you have to get your cpa. at that point you become more of a business advisor to clients and are much more than someone who inputs numbers

I'm trying something out with options, but I don't know what to make of this.

What I think I want is to end up with S = ...
Where S is the price of the stock. The endgoal here is for me to find the price of the stock where I have to "drop" the option based on the option price and cut my losses. Does anyone have any idea what to do? Or is /sci/ a better place to ask?

Financial accounting and analysis is very useful in all corporations and knowing how to read the numbers and decipher what they actually mean is something a bit more difficult to automate.

Derivatives markets and financially modelling

Derivative Markets
Financial Modeling
Financing Small Business
Seminar in Portfolio Management and Capital Markets
Financial Accounting and Analysis

those courses all look like solid finance courses and they most likely will teach you practical skills

lol imagine trying to explain how the lion's share of your net worth is tied up in a diversified portfolio spread across taxable and tax advantaged accounts to a 25 year old woman in the American Midwest

So guys, my girlfriend's bank account was used by someone else and bought a bunch of food stuff, but then the charges disappeared and she was still hit with the overdraft for the purchases. Anyine got any advice or any idea on what happened? Her account was empty due to her moving all her money before the incident into my account. Also pic unrelated.

Get a better bank and don't be a dumbass with your card info maybe

If you get paid under the table is it bad to deposit cash in a bank account? I wanna buy some things but I am kind of nervous about putting money into a bank account without having a "job" per se. Do banks care? Thanks in advance /biz/
9 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1758645
banks don't care, however any deposit of 10k+ will be documented and sent to certain agencies in order to combat terrorism/money laundering. A record is retained if you gain a lot of interest in the account as well. But for banks you barely get anything usually, so that is a non-issue for most people.

>no 401k or investments

My wife is pregnant and worries about our financial future when the baby arrives, what is your opinion is she being a overly worrisome? what are some ways to better our situation financially?

Your wife sounds spoiled as fuck if she doesn't realize how better off that baby is compared to most.
You guys will be fine.
>>
>>1758635
doing pretty good
if your job has a 401k you should at least put in what they will match since it is free money and you don't have to pay taxes on what you put in.

if your job doesn't have a 401k another option is opening an HSA account if you have a high deductible insurance policy. You can then deduct your HSA contributions up to the yearly amount on your taxes. Everyone has medical costs later on in life so you only benefit from using them.

>what are some ways to better our situation financially?
Is it too late to abort the pregnancy?
Your wife could divorce you and use the child for leverage to get better payments and alimony. She might need to disappear entirely
