I hate those self-help-self-employed-internet-business-gurus talking about how many books they read per week. Fast reading. Audiobooks. Reading only interesting chapters.

Just read it.
If it is non-fiction do your research, take notes, google the events/names mentioned in the book (if it is a biography for example), get a calculator and test the advice given, compare the advice to other books and what other experts say. Take your time to fully understand what you are reading.

If it is fiction enjoy it. Read and enjoy the story.

I had $300 that I dont care if I lose, so I opened an individual brokerage account as my "Speculative" account and built a portfolio of 5 or 6 pharma/marijuana penny stocks. If they all go to zero, oh well. Im hoping they will pop one day down the road.
