Here's a question I'm sure /biz/ is far too stupid to answer. How does someone disabled, living below the poverty line go from that hell, to being not just middle class, but wealthy enough to build projects like nature preserves or architecture?

How does someone both find enough money to pay the bills NOW, WHILE also trying to invest in some way that brings in enough profit to leave poverty? Keep in mind, there are all sorts of programs the disabled rely on to make ends meet (food stamps, medicaid, etc) which make it so if you have more than a minuscule amount of resources in a savings or stock account, you will lose completely.

And let's immediately dispense with the filthy Koch demons' "cigarettes and lottery tickets" propaganda. Nobody ever escaped poverty by simply saving pennies. That's not reality. It's deceitful propaganda. You actually have to have income great enough to leave poverty to leave poverty.

You learn a skill and hope you create something of value that people want. Hard work bro. If you're disabled try coding or something. I mean, if you're disabled and not working, you have all of the time in the world to get good at programming.

Programming and popularity. Design an app, an indie video game(minecraft, candy crush, flappy bird, angry birds), a cryptocurrency, a website, a youtube account, a livestreamer account, reviewing cartoons, music, videos,
Write and draw a comic book. Write erotic fiction or children stories with emotion bait.
Kickstarter, Patreon, Indiegogo, Gofundme.

Emotional bait.
Grab some cute looking puppy or kitten from the streets and make some emotion bait videos with her and watch the animal lovers throw money at you.

Farming spices and truffle hunting.
Raise small exotic animals (e.g. fish are the easiest)
Become a beekeper.

Can't do any of that? Not even a try? It doesn't have to be good, it has to be functional and pretend to have potential and become better. Then sorry, just end yourself, there's a million other people who can do it better than the average faggot and at least half a billion who tried and succeeded somewhat.
>>
>>1845174
Did I mention emotion bait? and then playing on the expectations and hopes of people?(Game of Thrones, Minecraft) and being charming for children?(Pewdiepie, JK Rowling). How about simple, but sure-fire ways that have worked for centuries such as growing your own crops?
Or hell just become a server manager, you sit all day making sure you're not receiving DDOS attacks, which happen once every blue moon to you specificaly.

> How is it free?
"People" invest your settled funds when you're not using them, just like banks.

> It's been X days, why isn't my account verified yet?
Not being approved in 3 days seems to be the new norm. Nevertheless, call/email their support if you've been waiting more than that.

> When is it coming to my country?
The only "plans" are on an Australian and Chinese beta. Neither of which has gained much traction.

> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, why?
Robinhood graphs are shit and only show you an average, not true real-time prices. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.

> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
Real brokers, like TDAmeritrade's thinkorswim. Otherwise you should be using stockcharts.com, finviz, or a non-pile-of-shit for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.

The couple of times that I have created the new thread I've wondered why the answer to the "Where can I get better charting?" question doesn't include a mention of tradingview. I've never used the more sophisticated tools, so I thought there might be a reason. If there's not, that seems like the place to put that.

I am. Have been for 2 years now.

It's a good job, but it involves a shit ton of administration work and constantly having other people's money/future in hands can get stressful.

Overall yes, I like it.
>>
Got a cousin who's a lawyer that creates bills that fund state pensions. She'll spend like 3 months authoring a bill with a team of people and it'll get voted down because it doesn't include enough LGBTQ friendly language or one sentence isn't explicit enough. Her husband is also a lawyer that does patent law. Whole other bag of bullshit.

Being a lawyer is not glorious. Most of them will spend years locked in a nerd dungeon examining huge tomes with rabbinical precision trying to decipher how they can do their job without getting fucked by normies. They're both basically alcoholics.
>>
Yeah. It's cool once you settle on a field that suits you.

There's a very wide variety of jobs contained in the word "lawyer". Being a criminal lawyer is hardly the same job as being an M&A tax attorney. Family and immigration law has nothing to do with civil liability, damages and torts.

I for instance wouldn't be caught dead practicing criminal law. Fuck that shit. And while I do enjoy family law - it's very hard on the emotions and really impacts your personal well-being. It really fucking sucks if you've got two parents arguing over custody and you can plainly see where the kid would have a much better life and future. Only problem is - you've been retained be the other side and should now vigorously fight for your client's interest.
Sure, it might be a client's whole fortune or a runious law suit, but it's always so much nicer and easier to deal with when there's only money on the line.

Just Google it you shit! Or obtain a copy of Starting a Business for Dummies.

Also you will fail and never get anywhere so who cares. Why couldn't you even pick a decent business plan? Clothing? That market is controlled, you would work 80 hours a week and make less than my brother who works at Mcdonalds. Take the lead express to hell.

Some details: I will mainly sell desktops. I will buy and assemble parts for $100 below what I sell the prebuilts for. A $400 office desktop will be sold for $500, etc.
>>
Who in the fuck do you think you're going to sell to? Desktop users fall into two major niches: individuals interested in computing who will just build it themselves, and enterprise, where things like support and reliability (which you cannot possibly provide at scale) are the most important factors.

What is your draw? What makes your product different from what consumers can already get?

been working for a year at a private company and recently got awarded stock option grant notice. should i do it? what to watch out for?
3 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>1844790
Don't know about ESOPs for private companies, but public company ESOPs are usually fantastic as they can guarantee a high ROI.

Biggest questions:
>How much of a discount are you getting?
Basically, how much do you have to vest vs. the value of the stock that'll get awarded. My company does 15%, so that's an instant 15% return pre-tax on my vestments.

>Can you even cash out?
You're taking stock options from a private company, so then there's the question of whether or not you can even sell the stock. This is important because, as always, you don't want to stick all your investments in one place. Standard procedure for ESOPs in public companies is just to cash out once they're distributed, netting that 15%+ return, then immediately diversifying that money.

Some companies even require you to wait a certain amount of time before selling your stocks. The the larger the time, the greater the risk that you guaranteed return gets eaten away or turns into a loss.
>>
>>1844876
thanks, any good resources i can read more about this? can i get a good indicator of how much it's worth by looking at the company's financial statement?

I lost my bank account details and now I've been locked out. Even forgot my secret answers because I remember I used 10 digit random numbers for them like an autist and saved all the passwords in an encrypted harddrive which I accidentally reformatted.

Had 320k saved up in the bank. But I've been forced to move back to my parents because the bank is going to cancel all my automatic direct debits on rent, crunchyroll, netflix and
b-brazzers.
Is there any hope for me ever accessing my bank account again /biz/?

Anyone else here is a millionaire? Can we take a moment and react to how we have won from the matrix and how anyone else is a slave, and they dont realize the extent of it that we do? I just don't think they realize just how trapped they are. For instance, I tend to keep my wealth a secret and some of my friends nearly on the verge of tears for $100 dollars.

I know that feel. I was at the bank the other day making a withdrawal and at the window next to me was a girl the same age as me, maybe a couple years older, going back and forth with the teller about a check she was waiting to clear so she could make her $200 car payment because she didn't have enough in her account to cover it. And then there was her credit card payment, her student loan, her this, her that, and she's shuffling money back and forth trying to pay it all. Meanwhile, I'm next to her withdrawing what probably would take her 3 months to make so I could buy some diamond rings.

I wasn't looking down on her. It just made me take a step back mentally and look at my own life. Even once you have the money it takes a while to set in that it's all real. At this moment I felt it more than ever and I drove to the jeweler shouting like Henry Hill in the Goodfellas when he hears on the radio that they pulled off the Lufthansa heist.

Personally, I believe in the new space industry, but /biz/ does not seem to share my enthusiasm, see >>>1838364 and currently it is very hard to invest anything into it if you are an ordinary small fish.
Also, of course lolWEED420#blazeit might offer a lot, since more and more countries are pushing for a legalization, but it is high risk.
And then there is Lithium miners, which are pretty hyped right now, because our electric future needs that shit.
And pro tip: Nautilus minerals. Subsea mining. That stuff is theorized since the 60s, but they now have the technique and the licenses to do so.
