Post fatties

Fat animals are fucking disgusting. And the shit owners who let their goddamn pets balloon to that size are even worse.
You're that dog or whatever pets lives. You're their everything. You feed them, you exercise them. You're the one who makes sure they have happy, healthy and fulfilling lives.
But to overfeed them and let them get fat like that and force them to live out the remainder of their lives in pain and misery in that shit body is your fault. You're literally making your animal suffer and shaving literal years off its life because you're a shitty pet owner.
Nothing makes me mad like shit owners who ruin their animal's lives by letting them be fat and worthless.
In this thread we invent conspiracy theories based on the assumption that a species of animals is secretly running the world.
So, why are we still using paper to print books when we have e-ink technology?
Why are we not all using recycled toilet paper?
It might sound crazy, but once you think about it, silverfish are running the world, and are secretly manipulating us so that they can eat books and good toilet paper.
And we thought that humans are the smartest. We are just pawns in a big game.
What species do you think we're being manipulated by?
>>2219886
Isn't it sentient reptiles?:
>why are we still using paper to print books when we have e-ink technology?
Aesthetics. E-readers are less pleasurable to use than a real book.
>Why are we not all using recycled toilet paper?
Silverfish can eat recycled paper. I'm not sure why you're even asking this question.
The overlord race is corn, end of story.

My Maine Coon recently passed away and I have been feeling guilty about keeping his ashes in my closet collecting dust. Do any of you have anything special that you do with the ashes of your deceased furry family members?
I have been looking into pic related, as Max used to always love to climb trees so i figured that he would like contributing to the climbing of other animals. I don't really like the idea of scattering his ashes, so I like that i would be able to keep them together, for the most part.
Does anyone have any unique/cool ways they have memorialized their pets? Apparently there are even products out there that allow you to turn ashes into a marine reef, however i'm pretty sure doing that would cause my cat to haunt me considering how he felt about the ocean.
>>2219699
Yeah I buried some of them underneath a dwarf maple tree I have growing in a planter
I have a cat skull. Would have a dog skull but I waited so long I forgot exactly where she was. Tried to find her but she got buried pretty deep. We had a marker but it got destroyed during a hurricane.
You don't have to worry about not watering bones enough. For ashes yeah I guess you can just mix them up in some soil. I have some of my friend's ashes in a necklace but I don't wear it since I don't want to lose it on a train or some shit. An urn would have been nice but he got split up between family and friends a lot.
>>2219714
I have always been weirded out by splitting up ashes/remains into many pieces. Obviously no judgment to those who want to do that, it just seems weird to have a literal small piece of someone/something's body. Not really sure why it bothers me since ashes are basically all the same.
Found these growing on a tree outside, what are they? are they safe to eat?
crabapples! perfectly edible but you won't like it.
they're good for jam.
>>2219700
I already ate one, it tasted pretty good!
>>2219702
really? if it wasn't super sour it might not have been a crabapple. either way, definitely some kind of apple and safe to eat.

Google is your friend.
Feel free to ask questions but know that there are a lot of resources out there that could answer your question a lot faster and accurately than /an/.
Make sure to include these things in your post before asking because we can't help you if we don't have the full picture:

Do low-maintenance grasses exist?
What about carpet plants?
I would like to try either in a 5gal if they are real.
>>2219495
valisneria is low maintenance, but is more of a tall grass
for easy low tech carpeting try glossostigma, marsilea hisurta and the like.
Are LED lights for plants supposed to be expensive? My store only seems to sell the ones by Current. The one I want for my 20 gallon is 150 cad. What if I want a bunch of tanks?
Niggas, I just found a stray sitting outside my house moewing.
It's all fucked up. Front right is twisted to the side, its left rib is a bit sunken in, and I think its back leg might be messed up too. Gave it some water and pieces of ham
What do I do

Post on /an/ about how outside cars have been living with humans for a long time, they can take care of themselves just fine, they can have a better quality of life if they are free to explore and reproduce.
Also if anyone disagrees with you tell them to kill themselves and call them a shill, because as you now know, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH OUTSIDE CATS!!!!
Seriously OP take it to the damn vet, or put it out of its misery yourself.
>>2219478
>hurr cars should be indoor only and imprisoned, never allowed to roam the open roads and highways like they were meant to at 100mph
off yourself
>>2219475
That's what happens to outdoor cats. Put it down.
The apex predator lived through the KT extinction event. Physically unchanged for 100 million years because it's the ultimate killing machine. A half ton of cold-blooded fury and a bite force of 20,000 Newtons, stomach acid so strong, it can dissolve bones and hooves.

Aren't the people real too? The horse is just acting a character like they are.
>>2219148
Lyra has no character. At least pick Fluttershy.
Is there anybody who can identify these mushrooms?
That would be Psilocybin Ursidae, also known as the bear mushroom. They grow in the lower intestines of brown bears who have eaten a lot of rotting meat. Then, when they reach maturity, the bear shits them out. They fungus feeds on the excrement, and will eventually grow into another bear.
>>2219032
AWESOME I'm excited to sprout my own bear
Don't eat mushrooms you just fucking found somewhere you dumbass
Longtime snake shitposter, longtime animal owners, but first time puppy buyer. My brother and I, we live together, are looking to get a pupper. We found a Rhodesian ridgeback breeder within 50miles of us, and they have an 8 week old liter and I've gone back and forth with them.
Anything I should keep an eye out for or be sure to note when picking a pup? My family track record with males has been great, so we plan on getting a male. Pick related is the puppies
>>2218824
Here is the male, with the female behind him, and a relative underneath him.
>>2218825
Here is a pup shot.
>>2218824
If you are going to the litter to pick one out, pick one that is with the other puppies, playing nicely, but not shy when you approach. Like in your second picture, you probably wouldnt want to pick out either od the dudes trying to be front and center.
Ive never gotten a puppy personally, but a friend swears to me this is the best way to get one with a good, even temperament.
Saved this little bastard from my sibling. It's an African Dwarf frog and he is about 3.
Little fucker has been surviving off of goldfish food for all this time, and was living in almost complete darkness for the past few months due to being kept of desk shelf.
I named his Lord Pepe, and I want to treat him as such. I am going to petsmart today to buy some stuff to give the little guy a better life. So here are a few questions.
>what pellet food will he eat?
>does he need a bigger enclosure?
>How often do I change his water?
>how can I give the guy the best life possible?
He stares at me, he does it in a way were I know he is acknowleding me. He is screaming for help.
Help me frog /an/

African dwarf frogs are practically blind. But a 5 gallon tank will work for his entire life.
ITT: Common myths surrounding animals
People have a lot of misconceptions about animals. Let's post some.
>"Alpha wolves". That was debunked years ago. Wolves are like lions, meerkats, and other species. The alpha wolves are the parents. The children ars submissive because they're the kids. When the kids get old enough they go off to start their own packs.
>"Feathered t-rex". Yes, they had feathers however they weren't completely fluffy. I honestly prefer them completely feathered but studies suggest only select parts of them had feathers (unlike raptors). Also it was highly unlikely they were bright colors like red or pink.
>"Ferrets are wild animals". I live in an area where ferrets are banned because of this and it's annoying. Pet ferrets are domestic and won't survive on their own. Cats are literally worse for the environment than ferrets and are probably more dangerous towards kids too. That's not even an anti-cat thing, it's just a fact.
>>2218727
ferrets are illegal in only three states and it's because of either rabies or concern over them establishing a breeding population and disrupting the ecosystem.
>>2218730
Like I said, that's impossible. Ferrets are unlikely to survive more than a few weeks on their own. People only fear them because they look like wild weasels.
>>2218735
>Like I said, that's impossible. Ferrets are unlikely to survive more than a few weeks on their own. People only fear them because they look like wild weasels.
Yeah, all of this. All ferrets, unless you get from a breeder that, for some reason, allowed your ferret to stay intact, will die in the wild. They can't survive on their own and are kind of idiots when it comes to learning what to eat as they imprint on their food. They need human care or else they'll die.
