Tom Green?
>Go to psychiatrists
>See she got a new fish tank, neat
>Wait
>3 bettas inside, all female
>One pleco
>Notice the tank is small
>Ask what gallon size the tank is
>She says 5 gallon
>Tell her a 10 gallon would be much better
>Says the pet store people told her a 5 gallon works for 3 bettas and a pleco since bettas stay in those tiny tubs
>Keep seeing the biggest female betta chase and nibble the other two
>She wont listen and controls my meds so I drop it
Tell her she's the reason you need to see a psychiatrist.
>talking to cousin about pets
>says that if she ever got a cat she would get it de-clawed
>say that if she's worried about furniture then they make the claw cap things you can put over their claws
>she says "Yeah but I'd be worried about them falling off"
>tell her that they stay on for a while and don't fall off
>"Plus what if someone came over and my cat scratched them"
>just stop talking because they're retarded

>she's not wrong

I'm looking for a new job, and there's a Petsmart hiring nearby. I've heard some mixed stuff about them and PetCo.
Is it all as bad as I've heard, or is some of it over-exaggerated? I mean, I've heard things that put their suppliers on par with slaughter houses at times.
>pet store horror stories too, while we're at it
>gif not related
try to get a job somewhere that doesn't sell livestock
When I was a little kid I wanted a Beagle puppy. My parents got me one from our local store. I live in an urban environment fyi. It's not exactly the projects but it's not a middle class area. When we got the puppy she was coated in dirt. No fleas iirc, just a lot of dirt. The people said they washed her but they obviously didn't.

>Go into Petco
>8 Leopard Geckos in the same 5-10 gallon tank
>Most of their tails are bone width
>Russian tortoises that don't move and are in a glass tank, most likely have parasites
>Bearded dragons all climbing on each other, food bowl full of dried carrots, mealworms only and a gigantic clob of powder covering it all like sauce covers pasta
They treat medium sized mammals fine but anything else is treated poorly, while reptiles are fucking abused.
if they're so smart, why do they go back to the cove every year?
instinct.
their intelligence is overrated.

None make it out alive.
>>2217948
that makes no sense though, if huge groups of people went to some place and no one made it out alive
>word would get around
Can you guys post some happy pictures of your dogs, please?
I just watched this and I'm pretty fucking bummed out
yes
Why would anyone pay for a remote-operated shock collar when they can just hit the animal for free?
>>2217806
Are you Mr Fantastic?
>>2217806
You haven't thought this through. Convenience is the answer.
I got one because I can't be arsed to get up off the couch, walk outside to the garage, get the broom, and beat the dog every time it starts scratching at the garage door.
>>2217810
Why do small dogs yap so much?
poor training
shit owners, I've never had a small dog that yapped.
>>2217706
This.
The same reason large dogs maul people.
Snake husbandry question:
How sensitive are snakes to candle smoke? What about incense?
I'm looking at getting a plain ol' ball python as a first snake. In the past, I had birds and so burning things was a no-no. I've come to really enjoy burning a little incense/scented candles now that I don't have little lung sacs to worry about. ANYWAY, how sensitive to this kind of thing are snakes? My apartment is pretty small, so a single incense stick can make it visibly smoky. When I burn resin, I use damn near smokeless charcoal but clearly there's still hot aromatic molecules in the air. I thought I'd play it safe and just ban burning again, but I thought I'd ask if it was much of an issue before I sacrifice my ambient hippie stink.
>>2217689
Animals don't like perfume.
Snakes are slightly less sensitive to it, but still don't recommend doing this.
>>2217719
Cool, thanks. Small sacrifice for a healthy animal, just curious about it.
snakes won't mind much, but it's really bad for birds and shit.
Post endangered species, what can we do to save them, and whether they're worth saving.
>Pic related is a Scottish Wildcat. There are less than 100 in the wild. They're being lost due to hybridization with domestic cats.
pacific bluefin tuna

Responsible cat owner brain.
Pretty rare nowadays.
They've led 400 species into extinction in the past five years alone.
There are 3 million feral cats in Australia right now. Some estimates reach 5 to 6 million.
>inb4 hurr durr cats have lived with humans forever
>hurr durr vet propaganda

Hopefully that troll got hit by a car, just like the feral cats he loves

>They've led 400 species into extinction in the past five years alone
Oh shit. is that true? Do you have a source on that?
>>2217510
that's in australia alone.
you can easily google it.
ITT post shiny plants/animals
>genetic mutations
>color mutations
>rare/unique colors
>mismarked breeds
If you have a mismarked breed, if you could please add the breed and the mismark to the post if you know it.
I had recently spent a weekend figuring out what the breeds and mismarks were in my mismark folder. Not fun.
Pic is a GSD with mismarked 'Panda' markings. I heard they were trying to make this color it's own breed now, I wonder how that's going
Leustic ('blonde') chinstrap penguin
If anyone has breed requests, I'll see if I can oblige.

Alright so my house just got robbed, my heart is in pieces right now and I need your help /an/ there is no sticky and I'm a newfag.
It's just me and my mom and I'm literally going into paranoia of home invasion atm so I was thinking of a dog with a menacing allure to dissuade/protect my home and family.
I know these kind of threads are frowned upon but I'm getting desperate I can't live in fear in my own home.
I was thinking of adopting an adult dog but I never had a dog before.
What kind of dog would you recommend for this purpose? I live in a house with a big backyard which would be nice for a dog I think easy maintenance and care would be a plus I don't have preferences of breed.
A german shephard or rottweiler.
>>2217191
I'm yurocuck and that's not going to help if I'm not home.
What drives a gator to do such an outlandish thing?
Is it the need to obtain pussy?
reptiles don't bother going around things, they just try to go over them.
they're not very smart.
