I know you get these threads all the time /adv/, break up bla bla, how do I get over her etc.

I just want to know if I am on the right way of getting over my ex and it would be nice if you could give me some direction. We did not have big fights or whatsoever but shit just didn't work out, apparently and we broke up in what I think is a good way.

What I keep doing is spending time with friends, meditation and self-reflection, reading, working, sporting, listening to music, etc. I also walk outside more, but it still takes me some effort not to think of my ex and especially the nice times we had.

Also, I notice something weird. I travelled on my own last year and surprised my then-gf with an unexpected visit in Shanghai. And I notice that I do want to travel on my own after I am finished with my studies, but there is some kind of fear of doing it on my own, even though I did it before. I guess something like this does hamper a bit with your confidence.

I don't necesarilly admire my ex, I look positive to the future. Happy for what it was, though.

My gf bought me really nice running shoes as a surprise gift... is she trying to tell me something?
I have put on about 20lbs in this last year but I thought I carried it well and she's kinda chubby.

Maybe it's nothing because I used to run and she wants to get me motivated to get back to my hobby... or I'm too fat for her liking. Thoughts?

Is it legal to shoot a dog that is trespassing on your property?

My neighbor has some pit bulls and German shepherds that keep trespassing on my property and I hate dogs, and these dogs annoy me.

If I put up some no Trespassing sings am I in my legal right to shoot the dogs without penalty so long as the bodies are returned to the owner?

tl;dr: This girl expects things from me she doesn't fulfill herself.

This girl I've been dating for two weeks now seems to be overly jelous or at least has double standards (maybe she's just inexperienced or childish).

Two days after we had our 1st date her father passed away. Now I tried to be there for her and give her full emotional support, but she seemes to block it and told me that she just needs time and also time for her to open up.

We got to know each other from a german version of tinder and apparently she knew me (or at least saw me/remembered me from a 20min thing 3 years ago) IRL before that (i had zero memories about that though). And at that 1st date I told her that I'm only looking for sth serious, because I just had short term relationships and fwb for most of the time and she totally agreed, because she just had one bf and another dude she was dating for 2 months (he didn't want to keep dating her, she told me). She also told me she's extremely jelous.

After that she told me that she'll delete the app and I deleted it right away in fron of her eyes, but when we met a few days ago she told me the "time-thing" again and that I shouldn't think too much, because "we're no together/in a relationship with each other anyway". I was pretty fucked up emotionally after that, because that's exactly what I don't want.

Now I installed the app again and we didn't write for a whole day and the 1st thing she replies to me writing her "hey, did you sleep well? how're you feeling?" was a screenshot of my profile and "looks like things are looking well for you" (shit like that). I just wrote her that I'm not a liar, because I do sth I told her I'd do and she didn't do what she told she'd do. So I don't see a problem, but her jimmies seem to be rustled quite a bit.

I don't know what to do /adv, I tried to call her a few times and told her to call me back or come and see me here at my work place.

Does anyone have experience with Couch Surfing? What about Couchsurfing in your own city/state, to meet new people? Is this allowed? I'm just looking for new ways to meet people around me. I understand this is usually for travelers... but I am attempting to think outside of the box.

Any advice is appreciated.

/adv/, I've been going through a dry spell, a severe one of a couple *years*, partly as a result of life-upheaval and several moves. Finally got my feet under me again and I have lived in the Bay Area for about a year. Problem is, I haven't found love, haven't even gotten laid, and I haven't even made much of an effort to.

I've had a couple OKC dates, but I wasn't feeling it with anybody. I had a crush or two at work, but the old "don't shit where you eat" advice squashed those in the bud. I feel like I've forgotten how to 'put myself out there' and meet women, flirt, all that kind of thing. I used to fall in love like every month, and those days seem very far away.

OKC has been very discouraging--not that I've been rejected/ignored more than anybody else, but more that I don't even feel interested in almost anybody on there. I feel like I'm too up in my own head after so long without having a relationship. What do /adv/?

Besides school and work? What is a common activity that they do? I go to the gym and shit and everyone just pumps. Well what I really want to know is what everyone does at night? To be more general, what do people do on their phones? Texting? I like big groups of people my age, specifically things like festivals, but I can't always dish out the cash. Where do people gather in big groups?

About 2 months ago I broke up with my girlfreind. About a week later she attempted suicide. I told her sister and her friend and they went to her appt to make sure she was okay. I then went to her appartment later to talk to her and she said she would just keep on trying unless I was with her. So I told her I would give her another chance and we've been dating again since. I don't really want to be with her though.

Right now she's trying to go to counciling but the wait is so long there's really no hope for that. Her family and friends also won't talk to me. What do I do?

How do I know if I'm drinking too much?
I drink maybe something like 4 pints of beer every weekend. Is that considered "too much"?

I guess I have high blood pressure, and apparently drinking can cause high blood pressure if one drinks in "excess", but is 4 pints a weekend excessive?
I figure I should cut back either way, but what would be a more socially acceptable amount of drinking?

I'd entertain the idea of just being sober for a while but I really look forward to drinking after wage-cucking all week. What do senpai

My sister physically attacked me and a day after I am in a lot of physical pain when I move. I want to know what are the pros and cons of reporting this to the police.

First off, I am a girl, I live in Victoria Australia and she is younger, I know what you'll say, beta as fuck right?. Why didn't you defend yourself? The honest reason why was because her attacks didn't actually hurt that much at first, she had a bottle of hairspray and she was hitting me with it but my thinking was 'I really don't want this to get worse, I will just weather this. I don't want to push her back because she might hit her head on the treadmill'. Then she shoved me really hard against the wall and I heard something in my chest pop/snap. The kind of noise you hear when you pull gristle off a cooked piece of meat. I don't know what's happened but I'm in pain when stationary and if I try to lift my arm the pain radiates from the centre of my chest to the top of my shoulder, on a scale of 1-10 I would say it ranks around 8. Generally moving and breathing is aggravating.

All this was caused by her thinking I said something negative to my mum about her and she flipped (I didn't she misheard). My parents are indifferent about this and I am moving out in 3 months. I just feel this is really wrong and I know it will cause my family anxiety if I file a report but I feel really angry that nothing will happen. I think whatever has happened in my chest is probably not going away for a while since I think it might be muscle related. I have taken photos of the bruising on my arms as it progresses. I am bothered that I am going to be in pain and no one really gives a shit and my sister isn't going to be held accountable.

Basically, I know I am being petty but at least I want to know the pros and cons of going to the police, I have never done anything like this before. Will it damage her career prospects? I just want justice, not to do anything overboard.
