I ca'nt afford the Switch/Zelda, Should I play Majora's Mask instead? or is it a meme?
>a meme
Aren't memes an internet thing? Majora's Mask is a video game.
Start with The Legend of Zelda on NES.
>>3852521
Too late. The entire Zelda franchise is a meme now.
>>3852618
I just checked my copy of Zelda that I bought back in 1986.
It's still a video game, not a meme.
FF7 is really gorgeous. It really captures that anime-cyberpunk look that was big in the mid to late 80's.
There has been a lot of god damn Final Fantasy VII threads.
Because one or two faggots want to piss people off while making FFVII looks bad.
I agree with OP though, beautiful looking game
>>3850084
agreed
>want to become a hardware fag
>realize you live in Europe
> 90% crt tv have no rgb
> pal games running at 25/50 hz
> gay ass rounded snes carts
a-at least our snes controller was colorful;_;

You have to use the RF adapter to get the image quality that the developers intended.

I am also Expanding this thread to include Western Sitcom retro games. I should have titled this thread Western /tv/ games.
>>3854497
I remember I rented a roadrunner game on the SNES once
I don't remember if it's any good
I think the only one I played and beat before is Conquests of the Longbow, which I enjoyed. I also beat Shadowgate, but I don't think that's Sierra.
Any of their point and click adventure games like day of the tentacle or the monkey island games. If you need help with emulating anything check the sticky out, my dude.
>>3854475
uh, so, boy, you know, I think you really missed the point of my question.
>what's a good game?
>any of them
>>3854475
>those games
>sierra
anyway op look up scummvm, you can run almost any sierra adventure game on that
So, I recently sold some old retro stuff on Ebay. A buyer complained that one of the consoles did not work, and he requested a refund. I said no refunds allowed - Ebay apparently doesn't allow that and refunded him and made him send it back.
I got it back and it's a totally different fucking system.
What the fuck do I do?
Serves you well for being a fucking reseller scum... i hope all of them ask for refunds so you dont ven make a penny out you greedy fuck.
In all seriousness, thats what you get for using the resellers bay, shouldve just dropped them on Craigslist or something locally.
Send ebay pictures of the serial number of the console he sent you that they can see is different from the serial number in the pictures from your auction.
Just kidding. I'm sure you didn't post pictures of the serial number and ebay nearly always sides with buyers unless he already has a bunch of complaints against him from buyers he's already pulled this on but either way you should still report it whether you're the first straw or the last straw
>>3854106
>What the fuck do I do?
Scams like this rarely happen, but if you're moving expensive items, you really should take (timestamped) photos of your merchandise before shipping it.
And are you sure it's a different one? The postal service might have damage the item en route.
>>3854112
>and ebay nearly always sides with buyers
lol, no. I've been ripped by resellers before. eBay didn't give a shit.
is there anyone here who unironically prefers the dreamcast over the saturn?
d-don't bully Sega
Us PS2 master race nobles could (hardly) care less.
>an actual 6th gen console
>the objectively best 5th gen console
Oh...I see! My bad. Stick to /vr/. What do you know, the PS1 alone rapes both of those systems.
Pssst...nothing personell kid. It just gets stale pretending either system is good. But for what it's worth DC > SS.
Arcade gamers
Welcome, dear /vr/ fellows.i'm looking for some good old horror game for the weekend. Can anyone suggest anything good? Any platform as long as its /vr/. Played already all SH, RE and most mainstream. Albo general /vr/ horror thread
Sweet Home?
腐界に眠る王女のアバドーン? (Retro in the actual sense of retro.)

Played already, but a great suggestion, thanks
How does /vr/ deal with the fact that playing SNES games on a 4:3 crt is inherently wrong and stretched?
While I can agree that it can look better than LCD,
can you really justify the morph ball being an oval?
more examples to follow
This is super mario world.
a first party game by nintendo.
Please do not give me "the devs intended for 4:3 to be the aspect ratio"
thanks
Yoshi's Island
This picture shows that the morph ball is clearly meant to be a sphere (so a circle)
which is also evident by the fact that it can roll
What's the best version of Maniac Mansion? Is there something like Monkey Island: Special Edition for it? PC is okay but Android would be nice.
the one for nes isnt bad if you want to play it on android
>>3845845
Isn't SCUMMvr also on Android?
>>3845850
If thats the case, there is a fully playable version inside of Day of the tentacle, the sequel
>...the simple fact remains that X-Men vs. Street Fighter is a terrible, unbalanced, pound-on-buttons-at-random-and-win-anyway fighting game.
how on the money is this?
>pound-on-buttons-at-random-and-win-anyway
If that's the way you play it, of course it is like that in your eyes. Anyway, why should I care about the opinion of some random opinionated faggot from the internet?
Still one of my favorite fighters and I don't get how MVC1 is preferred over it
Does anyone else here collect music from retro games (CDs or otherwise)?
>>3855734
I used to, and I had a fairly large collection of OST CDs back in the early 90's. I also used to download every remix at sites like OCremix and VGmix. It was a large part of my adolescence, and greatly contributed to my difficulties relating to other people and making friends at the time.
I still really enjoy that stuff, but I've broadened my musical interest quite a bit over the years. While I rarely listen to game tunes unless I'm playing one, it's still pretty enjoyable for me occasionally while doing other things, too.
>>3855775
>90's
I meant late 90's/early 2000's
Yes, but back then it was just called VGM, video game music. Pictured is one of my favs by the o'bits project.
I sold most of my collected game music albums about 10 years ago and went digital.
Still listen to vgm on a daily basis, I love the old (80-95) arranged stuff the most.
I'm looking for an old ice hockey videogame.
It was a brutal game, where the ring had blades and traps that could kill you if you touched them. I found a forum on-line where someone else is looking for that game:
"PLEASE HELP! This has been driving me crazy. Old PC game. Played it back in the 90s. Sports game, but ultra-violent. It was like ice hockey, but you were in a half-pipe, and in the middle there were obstacles like blades and stuff that would cut you up. You could cut off your opponent's head and score with it, if I remember correctly."
Ring any bells to anyone?
I liked 2004 ea one
HyperBlade
Mutant League Hockey?
Nostalgia aside, why would you want to own these ugly, poorly designed, objectively worse boxes? Only the most delusional collectorcucks will try to justify this.
>>3854714
I agree on all but SMB 3.
FF3 box > FF6 box
Yeah I agree, which is why I always organise my game cover art according to the game's first country of origin.
