I can really recommend the Project Zero series. They have great atmosphere, the fighting system is innovative and there are lot's of di´fferent ghosts.

Part 1 is sometimes a bit frustrating because the controles move so slowly but because of this it's even more scary. Part 2 has better controls & graphics and cute young twin girls.

Tried Illbleed a bit. It's great, because it feels kind of fresh. Its mostly not about monsters and crap, but about finding hidden traps. Literally this game makes you scared off dinner plates :) But after i while i found it quite repetitive

that's the PS1 game- you don't feed it to the dog but rather have to throw the soap into a feral dog's eyes in order to escape from the house in the second scenario if you chose to send the statue to the house

It's a survival horror game without the horror. Why the devs made it point and click I'll never understand considering if they'd just used tank controls I'm 100% positive it would have seen international success.
