What do you guys think about the original Megami Tensei strategy spin-offs (Another Bible, Majin Tensei I, II and Ronde)? I'm not a big fan of this kind of genre but I really like the series and these games look very interesting.

Have they been translated yet? I wanna try them.
i finally got around setting up my retropie and i wonder how you guys go about adding roms to it : i could download them again one by one or go through my old hard drives but i wonder if you use a standard way to save time and trouble. is there a well maintained romset out there or something like that?
No intro roms sets. Use the mighty spoon full feeding Google for more

Seriously, stop with your stupid posts. You want attention? Go suck a dick.

This is one is way better than the bait posts. It actually has pretty fair lists and includes a lot of less obvious games. It could actually lead to a decent discussion.
IMO, all three consoles are pretty tied up in terms of side-scrollers/platformers. These 3 are the kings of that type of game.
I think SNES has more games in total, and many good ones, so maybe SNES is the number 1, but NES and Genesis are pretty close. No other system comes close, maybe GBA, but not retro.
Never played any of them. How long does it take to get used to tank controls?
5 minutes tops
Takes exactly 300 hours of playtime.
You'll get used to them in minutes or you'll find out you're so disinterested in quality games that you view a functional but obtuse control scheme a deal breaker.
Gonna play Final Fantasy for the first time.
What am I in for?
>>3971652
The attack was ineffective.
>>3971652
a really annoying noise in your party menu
>>3971652
A long haul through dungeons filled with dangerous monsters. Be prepared to treat each major dungeon starting with the Marsh cave as a journey to prepare for, since you'll be delving deep with limited supplies each time (IE you only get a few charges to bring your guys back to life, few magic spells between each rest in an inn, and a limited amount of potions to carry).
On top of that, have fun making your initial party, and the game is beatable with any combination.
Have you guys tried converters like these for your old consoles on HDTVs?
Do they eliminate the input lag, or at least vastly reduce it?
https://www.amazon.com/Panlong-Converter-Adapter-Output-Monitor/dp/B00D875R5K
>>3970109
Input lag is about the same, but depending on the quality, you might get a better picture.
>>3970109
No it doesn't.
>>3970109
They make input lag worse.
Those kind of things are mostly designed for old VCR's and DVD players where input lag is irrelevant. It doesn't matter how much delay there is in something that has no active inputs.
What is the best SNES emulator
ZSNES without a doubt
>>3966525
that one
all the cool romhax work on that one
Yoshi and friends, lolis or Pokemon?
lolis and pokemon. Not that big of a fan of the Yoshi version.
>>3977861
Lolis for me
>>3977861
Pokemon lolis with oversized breasts.
Fuck this. Just give me the jewel case please.
Could be worse. Could be 'too large to fit with the others'.

I like the playstation long boxes. They look cool!
Here have the good version of the game
Trying to play Tomb Raider 2 - v1.0 on 1.9.0 -via cdrom drive. On Win 7. Whatever I use im getting this effect with any water in the game (see picture). Tried to use theses plugins with default settings:
Pete's DX6 D3D Driver 1.76
Pete's D3D Driver 1.76
Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.76
Any ideas for advanced settings tweaking/ Bilinear filtering?
Also, any epsxe settings issues thread.
>>3977252
Switch to mednafen. It is the most accurate PS1 emu out there.
You could try using mednafen instead of an emulator built by cocksockets.
>>3977256
My exp so far with medna has not been good. settings & keybindings becoming reset has been a huge peev.
Im happy with all my other emu needs -fceu, sms/genplug/vba.. psx & mame are the only ones that give me issues.
I just want to figure out this issue.
How rare are these?
How much do they go for?
Why should we tell you, reseller scum?
>>3976869
Pretty rare outside Japan
Quite a lot
They seldom survive shipping intact
>>3976874
i only want to know so i don't get memed when i buy one for more than i shoud
So, /vr/, after taking some of your advice on my first ever retro purchase I couldn't be happier. This little guy serves me better than I could ever imagine. I am having tons of fun with all the games I used to emulate.
Now I have come to ask questions about another console I'd love to own - The Super Famicom/Nintendo.
First of all, regions. Are the consoles region locked? I am a sucker for the 4 color design of the PAL/Jap console. Also, I hear the PAL plays the game slower, is it true? Could I get a Jap NTSC? Even though my country uses mostly PAL TV's modern tv's allow switching. Will I even be able to hook a SNES/SF up to a modern TV?
Is there any hope of a new edition of the Everdrive that supports the chipped games? If not, do cheap repros of the chipped games exist?
TL;DR Redpill me on purchasing a Snes/SF today. Thanks, /vr/, you guys are the best board
chill dude
I can't be sure that was your intention, but I bet this post is gonna make some people mad
but hey man good on ya hope ya have funa lot of this shit you could just google, if not all of it
>>3976731
I just wanted to exhaust all questions to leave no ambiguity to my intentions.
Also I'm still pretty excited and enjoying my GBC.
ITT : games that you went through with the hardest time of your life and everytime you play it again make you wanna cry

Wizardry general.
>>3975915
Woa you can be a furry in this game?
I've a confession.
I've played way too many Wizardries, but not once have I finished a single one
>most mainlines
>wiz empire
>wiz gaiden
>wiz dimguil
>wiz summoner
But oddly enough, I've finished a bunch of the clones like Elminage and the newer anime-likes.
I really need to finish wiz 7. i sunk so many hours into 6 and 7 and i really want to import into 8.
ITT: Post hidden gems
Did you notice they make a cameo in System Shock?
