Wanna know what you guys honestly think the best SNES game is. For me it's DKC 2
http://retro-sanctuary.com/Top-100-SNES-Games-Page-1.html
There's way too many rec. threads. My favorite's probably the same as yours.
Super Metroid or Mega Man X. BoogerMan gets an honorable mention.

This game is too adictive for its own good. How do you avoid running out of magic points?
You economize them. Do you expect some infinite source of health in a dungeon crawler? When you get demons with reviving spells you can get Yumiko killed so that her MP return to maximum. This also works for demons but those will cost money to resummon.

So, should i give up to using the strongs available demons? I'm now exploring the lower levels of valhalla's corridor
Also i love the sprites of this remake. I'd like to check them individually.

>tfw last thread died a quiet death
Can we have a nice Diablo I & II thread? I remember these being regular about a year or two ago but I just now am starting to really get into the series so I think it would be cool for these threads to come back.
Post builds you like, cool items you've found, tips for dumb beginners like myself, etc.
>>3918339
trying to farm good items in D2 singleplayer must be hell (no pun intended)
PlayStation X has a great port of diablo 1
Best fighter build for 1?
Maybe I'm dumb I think I just put too many points into magic.
D2 isn't retro.
Is it just me or is FFV the least "Final Fantasy" of all the games in the series?
Don't get me wrong, it was an alright game, but it just doesn't seem as though it should have a number so to speak.
Anyone else feel this way?
If not, what are your sentiments otherwise?
>The most fleshed out version of the series' iconic job system in a numbered title aside from XI
>Shouldn't be a numbered title
???
>>3967169
I haven't played it what's it about?
>>3967169
It's similar to I and III, so it should definitely be a numbered FF
What was the best retro sonic game? I liked three a lot.

It's pretty neat, yeah. Who knew Qix gameplay would work so well for ecchi stuff.

Because Japan

Be honest Anon, you wouldn't play for half as long if it wasn't for the nudity.Qix is still fun... naked asians just make it more fun.
Promised a guy on /v/ that I'd upload my WASD-style control config for MW2 so here it is:
https://www.mediafire.com/?a8n0jl41864lyqj
I included a control list along with some instructions and additional information in the archive which you can also view it here:
https://pastebin.com/Y7XybRa1
Also, I hope you are able to get MW2 on Dosbox running properly enough that you have music working. The soundtrack is quite good and the game feels kinda dead without it.
Feel free to use this thread to discuss mech simulators and shit, if you want.
>>3966092
Was this game any good?
>>3966116
No clue.
I've been meaning to give this series a try, but I don't have a clue where to begin

As someone who only plays singleplayer and doesn't care about Battletech lore, MW2, MW3 and MechCommander Gold are what I consider to be the best games in the series.
MW2 has more environment variety and "coffee break" missions that don't last too long. More importantly, the combat also feels more fun and balanced overall. Compared to MW3, taking out an enemy mech's arms first is actually viable, and you can't easily kill mechs by destroying one of their legs, you have to destroy both. The AI is also somehow more responsive and challenging in MW2. The GBL expansion is crap. The Mercs standalone expansion is riddled with technical issues (weapon hits often not registering is a huge problem), its missions are just plain unfair, and it doesn't give the player much room for experimenting with different mechs and loadouts.
MW3 has gear progression and is much more detailed and satisfying in portraying the feeling of piloting a 50+ ton mech. The weapons also feel way better, lasers actually feel like lasers and the autocannons kick so much ass. The Pirate's Moon expansion is good, but brutally difficult at certain points.
MW4 has some merits, such as having more meaningful differences between mechs (the hardpoint system which is infamous among BT purists) and more detailed and complex mission design, but the combat in the game just feels like crap compared to MW2 and 3. It takes forever to kill a mech and the weapons feel extremely underwhelming. The Black Knight expansion is good and features some great missions. The Mercs standalone expansion is tedious crap (dull and repetitious mission design), but decent enough and preferable to MW2:Mercs if the idea of creating and leading a merc company appeals to you.
MechCommander Gold is a different type of game, but very much worth playing if you have even the mildest interest in tactical games. Amazing mission design and rewarding resource management with an overall difficulty that is tough but mostly fair.
Anyone remember this game? After searching for 20 minutes I found that it was called Hexen

I thought it was rather fun, Hoping Hexen II is just as good.

Yes. It's one of my favorites. As is Heretic.
Why did they add so many ninjas in MK series?
Sub Zero and Scorpion were classics. Coke and Pepsi. Reptile was a cool little bonus.
Then they add Smoke, ok I see where you're coming from. Ermac? WUT? Rain? I have to admit that they diluted it with too many ninjas. Also where are those ninjas from and why do they all look the same? Also why is there a Sub Zero classic and Sub Zero modern?
>>3965715
>Ermac
Fun Fact: That name originated from an error message in the arcade diagnostics screen.
>>3965719
Specifically, "error macro"
does he count also
How does /vr/ feel about the Medal of Honor games?
It and Underground are must-plays. They're the closest things to having a Goldeneye on the Playstation.I found Allied Assault and Frontline disappointing in comparison
My first experience was renting Underground and it was so bad I returned it ASAP.
That's the only retro one I played so there's my two cents. *jim face*

What didn't you like about it?
Name a more perfect game than Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus.
Pro tip: you can't
(Don't mention anything past 1999, or the mods will ban your ass)
Oddworld is just a poor man's Flashback.

Flashback is just a poor man's Another World/Out of This World

Out of This World is just,
I got nothing.
