Being totally overwhelmed by the animal strength you obtain when hiking for a long time. When it's 2030 and you're on mile 35 having been through multiple passes that day and you could keep going. When you burst through the tree line to face the setting sun over the wilderness as sweat drips from your chin, letting out a bestial roar. God it makes me hard.

Mostly because i would be drunk.
200ft is excessive.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I will inherit a bunch of land in the mountains of northern Portugal (And have to buy the rest from my relatives) and I want to move there. There is a small house which I seek to restore as well as a woods owned by my family in those mountains. I want to learn how to survive there by myself and to do that, I'll need to learn agricultural skills related to farming, animal keeping and husbandry and skills related to woodcutting, surviving in the woods by yourself, hunting, building simple tools like bows, basic herbalism, how to skin and prepare animals and their leather and other skills and knowledge related to this. Where could a complete novice with an interest in this learn? Could you give me some resources or direct me perhaps to youtube channels? I'm really lost and need your help.

I doubt you'll be able to live 100% off grid, but depending on soil and climate you could grow a lot of stuff.

How much is the extra land costing you op?

Between his hand sewn baby poop hat, the 'earplugs' and 'spookies' comment, cutting off tags to save on half grams... he wins hands down, but tops it all off by apologizing to his wife for his man-spreading. Maybe he should grow a pair first.

Bought me a new bike. Since I'm fat I'm trying to get in shape. Since I'm moving my body I rather do it outside and see the landscape than doing it inside and worse probably in front of a mirror.

However, I barely made it on top of the bike as I can only rise my leg so much while being fat. Pretty much anything on the package carrier an I either fail getting on top or kick that something off the carrier.

Being fat sucks. Since I finished complaining, make this thread a biking general or something.

I need a recommendation for a waxed cotton overcoat. I need it to be full length. I'm looking for a functional piece of equipment for hunting and working in the rain. No hipster bullshit.

>>
>>1074246
What's functional for one person may not be functional for another, and those coats are so outdated you'll be lucky to find one at all, let alone one that has exactly what you're looking for. Why don't you just make your own? Cotton and wax are cheap as shit and you'll end up with something that will fit your needs perfectly.

>What's functional for one person may not be functional for another
What the hell does that mean? What keeps the rain off one man's back will do the same for another.
>>1074249
>and those coats are so outdated
How are they outdated? Did climate change cause all future rains to cease? What else do you wear in the rain?

This post might be more suitable for /diy/. Ah well.
Owing to my dad's brilliance some decades ago, I have 20 acres of land in the Ozarks near a beautiful river. I would like to build a shit shack like pic related to serve as a base for exploring the area. It only has to fit two small beds, a desk, and a fireplace. Needs neither electricity nor plumbing. Just a comfy place to come back to at the end of the day. If any of you have done something like this or have general construction experience to share, it would mean a lot. I don't really know how much money to expect to spend on a project like this and I'd rather not get into all the "tiny house" memery.

>>
Just get a tiny house and stop spending so much time considering what other people will think of you.
>>
Ive been looking into the same thing
Does this area get snow? And if so how much?
Do you want a foundation or not?
What material do you want it made out of?
Etc etc
>>
>>1073296
>get
Eh, half the fun is building it. And it's absolutely a tiny house, except for short visits instead of year-round use. Won't even have a lock on the door.

I'm really thinking about this, definitely as support staff as I do not have a science background. Seems like a lot of fun, I have no problem working as a janitor or line cook but ideally I'd get on a heavy equipment operator as I have a background in that.

I've spent 3 years as an OTR driver, deckhanded on a lake freighter for a season and worked on a fishing boat. I dont mind shitty conditions for long periods of time, I learn to revel in the misery. So unless you really think this would be worse than being forced to splice lines on deck in 30 degree cold on Lake Superior, dont say I cant do it.

but for real, can I do it?

Seems like you'd have no trouble. There are some location-specific things to watch out for, but the people who are there can fill you in on that sort of safety stuff.

You ever just think about that medieval wilderness, though?

We have a small local pond here in _________, Colorado that I'm thinking of stocking myself with fish I'll breed and raise at home. Probably next spring if I'm serious about it. What are some good options?

>>

How bout you fuck off. The local waters are fucked because dumbshits like you.kys
>>
>>1068594
Fuck you, nigger. The state doesn't even stock the pond and it's ten minutes from my house. It's basically mine to stock.

I was thinking of putting in some tropical exotics during the spring. Something that should grow to 10-12 inches quickly and would at least get killed off by the cold if not by every spic that thinks there's fish in that pond. They deserve to catch a piranha. I think some of them eat those where back wherever they come from.
