Can anyone here tell me what kinda Shrooms these are and if they are edible? I found them growing on an old log in the High Uintas of Utah.
>>1069674
Obligatory if you don't know EXACTLY what it is don't eat it.
That said, as an amateur mushroom hunter I can tell you that most 'gilled' mushrooms are super hard to tell apart and I've never seen an edible mushroom look like that.
Short answer, no.
>>1069678
Thank you. I didn't even pic them. I just took a few pics and decided to research them. They are growing a short hike from where I'm camped and I was just curious about them.

Could be Kuehneromyces mutabilis which would be delicious, or then Galerina marginata which is highly poisonous. Only one way to find out!

I think she is actually very good. I just cant stare at her because she looks like a nazi serial killer. Her face is very scary.

Nice try chosen one, but if you did your research before shilling you'd know most people on this board would enjoy the nazi serial killer look.

Currently thinking about purchasing a canoe and want some input as I don't have much experience canoeing. I've only used old aluminum canoes on previous trips and have never portaged.
I was thinking to get a nice tandem canoe from a local company (New England). Is purchasing a carbon or kevlar fiber boat a complete waste if I plan to use it mainly for weekend trips and maybe up to class III rapids on occasion? I do plan to start portaging so I can access more.
Other than material, what else should I be looking for in a new canoe? Is a shallow V the best bottom or is there something else I should look at?

>or is there something else I should look at?
Check out kayaks. There have been lots of little advances in manufacturing them in the past decade or so. They are much cheaper now and have lots of flexibility in what you can do with them.
FYI, Class 3 rapids can swamp a canoe.
While metal detecting found chain in ground, is leading deeper underground. to lazy to dig it u. what could it be?

You can eat it raw just make sure you wash it.
What's the best way to warm up for a LONG walk, /out/? I can walk quite a few miles without stretching or anything but I feel it's a mistake.
have a meditative wank
like, a few hours long walk or like Trail of Tears long walk?
walking doesn't demand rapid energy or hydration, so it's best to have some food and water before hand, but snack and hydrate as you go.
stretching is probably good if you're old or if you're carrying a heavy load btu oherwise, you warm up relatively slowly as you go. take breaks, and stretch afterward if you feel like you're gonna lock up (supposedly it's not best to just stop but slowly wind-down the physical activity).
wear layers that are easy to switch up, sunglasses and a hat/sunblock are a good idea too.

I'm going to Luxemburg for a week and I'm looking for a few abandoned buildings to visit. We want to go to maison Kirsch, but can't find an address anywhere. Any Luxemburgers know where it is?

You could try to contact Exploringandme (he is a dutch or belgian urbexer) You two probably speak all the same languages.
Luxemburg is zoo small of a country to find remote areas. The pressure on the real estate pool is enormous.
If you want to get something for your money, visit the Mullerthal. I work there.

Hey /out/, first time poster here.
I was wondering how I can introduce more /out/ related activites into my daily life. Currently I am studying and have what I would say, a very plain life. I would like to do some activities that have the outdoors and adventure in them, or at least try to start living a more fulfilling lifestyle. I have become something of a couch potato and would love to know some crap that you guys may get up to- even if it's in your own yards. Even simple stuff like practicing knots and shit.
Also- slightly off topic- what time do you fellas get up? I have a hard time waking up before nine these days, and would love for this to change. Any ideas on what could help this and my constant state of weariness?
>>1067821
Well as for at home activities practicing knots is great. You could get a fire pit for your backyard and practice making fire, you can also whittle while hanging out by the fire.
As for easy outdoor activities you could take short hikes, go fishing and maybe take up an outdoor hobbie like archery or something.

You're living in a big city. Something is happening and if you stay you'll die. Without a car you can only use a bike with a cargo trailer. Winter is two month away.
What do you load on the bike to somehow survive the winter innawoods?

Hey /out/ I'm planning a trip, like a date with a girl, and I wanted to take her to a nice, beautiful place. I have done some research, and I can't find very many suitable places in Ohio, what would any of you Ohiofags suggest?

Cuyahoga, Hopewell, and Blue Limestone come to mind.
