Anyone ever been in a situation that you need a whistle?
>>1076925
No, but speaking from a SAR/rural EMS perspective I can think of times people should have had one and it either took much longer to find them or they were found dead. I carry one in my kit, weighs nothing.

a plastic whistle weighs about 2 feathers and could easily save your life. why not?

I wear it around my neck on a lanyard.
Imagine you tripped and fell, tumbling down quite a ways. Wake up later battered to hell and can't move your limbs enough to get into your pack or maybe it fell off. Hopefully the whistle is still around your neck instead of tucked away somewhere in the pack

Now that takes me back. I have my old scout handbook stashed away somewhere. In it is this very card, nestled between it's pages
>>1077758
makes me wonder... are the newer editions of the Scout Handbook still any good, or has Modernization ruined them like so much other stuff?

Do you want the Sissy merit badge with pozzed nut cluster? Yes? Get the new handbook
>>1078534
I will take that as a yes to the later half of the question... I'll start looking for a few older editions. any particular one's folks have to recommend?
