Is this a meme? I feel like this doesn't happen much and you are much more likely to encounter trouble when out and about.
Also I feel you're more likely to be burglarized and have someone take your nightstand pistol and kill you with it when you get home from work than actually habing to use it. Not saying you don't need some sort of defensive gun in your home but a big knife or machete would work IMO, it also totally depends on where you live desu
>inb4 "lock ur guns up before you leave"
That takes a lot of time to do EVERY TIME you leave your house and come home
I'm a heavy sleeper so im probably fucked anyways, still armed to the teeth though.

>>33516294

any advice?
>>33516180
>any advice?
Get rid of your AMD (unless it's a Ryzen) and get a WASR.
>>33516192
AMD > WASR

My neighbor just had someone break into their house a few days ago so I'm looking into something to defend myself/my family with. I already have an ar-15 for coyote hunting but I'm really worried about overpenetration as my neighbors are so close. My thought was to get a 9mm handgun but I'm only 17 and I live in Illinois. If my brother got a foid card and bought a pistol, would it be legal for us to keep it on my nightstand and would I be in any legal trouble if I shot someone with it?
Forgot, pic somewhat related, its my ar before I got an optic
You're not going to over penetrate into another house with .223. Anyone who says otherwise should be taken as a cock polisher until they cite an instance of it happening.
AR will kill intruders dead (just ask Oklahoma /k/ommando who downed 3 nogs using only his carry handle just recently), just keep shooting until they stop moving.
>>33516179
This. An ar will still go through whatever it hits, but a faster, lighter bullet tends to dump it's energy faster than a slower, heavier one. 9mm will probably penetrate more walls than .223.
Looking for a new all around/carry pistol. First compact for me.
Should I go aesthetic/historical with a Manurhin Walther PP (8rounds .32 ACP)?
Or pure practicality with the CZ P-01 (14rounds 9mm, light rail)?
Anyone own one of these?
Go full historical, get a webley scott. I mean you only care about how it looks and will never use it so why not.
Please respond.

Would you put a suppressor/silencer on your weapon?
>>33515786
Yes
>>33515786
and why not.
>>33515864
That's not a suppressor, anon
what does /k/ think of arming quadcopters?
>ISIS retaliates with badminton rackets.

Quadcopters are an abomination of aeronautics.
>>33515763
UN should ban this.
Is their any real defense against nuclear weapons? I've heard of things like, "Just shoot them down," but wouldn't that leave all the radiation and debris to fall wherever is under the nuke.
Say the North Korea launches a nuke at Tokyo, Japan tomorrow, if the Japanese/Americans were to shoot down over northern Japan, wouldn't it make that area uninhabitable?
Or is their a way to completely destroy a nuclear weapon that is en route to a location? I know it would've never been done before, but theoretically could a military power do that? It seems like that would be the only way to prevent casualties.
>>33515753
Hole in ground and about one foot of dirt. In most cases nuclear weapons only have a direct reach on five miles or so, your piss city may get one or two in the downtown district but mom and dad's house in the suburbs will probably only have fallout and supply issues. Nuclear war is not only survivable but is winnable. Would help to have a prepared population with basic shelters and supplies and an early warning system for civilians.
>>33515753
If any hostile launch is detected from North Korea, it's going to be shot down before it reaches Japan at all.
But anyway, the only defense against a nuclear barrage is to try to shoot them down and bunker in.
It wouldn't necessarily explode if you shot it down. They work with carefully timed and directly blasts to start the fission process.
I want to put a red dot sight on my 10/22 but don't want to spend 500$ on an Aimpoint. Are Bushnell's or Primary Arms any good? Any others? Water proof to some degree and fog proof are what I need because of where I live.
I've heard holosun is good.

I put this guy on my AR and it works bretty gud
I'm happy with my Lucid HD7. Not super expensive, and it's clear and accurate.
Battery life is like 50,000 hours, and it's easy to swap out. The auto brightness doesn't work great if the target is better lit than your shooting area. The manual brightness only has like 4 settings, so it can either be too dim, or so bright that it's blurry.
Other than that, it fills its role nicely.
I want a mini ak or an ak74
Something along those lines. I'd like to know what are the best brands and what's and how is the best way to take care of these guns. Ive only used a pellet gun before but nothing like this.
>KKKOMANDER
wtf?
>>33515498
First look up videos on firearm safety and how to be responsible with them.
>>33515498
that is litterally the worst fucking thing to buy the first time.

Lightweight barrels, what's your opinion? Is gov profile/med profile really the best of all worlds for an AR?
>>33515240
Govt profile is worst of all worlds and lightweight barrels or light sorta med countour barrels like the BA Hanson are god's gift to the ar15.
>>33515240
very handy fast to point and obviously lighter so you can hold it up longer. faster to heat up than other profiles but also faster to cool. groups open up when it gets hot, but as long as you arent shooting for tiny groups, its not a large factor.
you might percieve an increase in recoil, less weight to absorb the shot
Pencil barrels are the way to go imo. So comfy. They heat up faster sure, but they also cool down faster.
Loaded "range trash" (basically the powder found on the floor of firing ranges) into my colt single action army, with custom steel cases I had my friend make. I wore heavy gloves in case i burnt my hands off, and fired the gun.
It violently exploded when I fired. the barrel wasn't really a barrel anymore, and the cylinder looked like someone stepped on playdough. The hammer completely flew off and some other metal bits, and I never found them. Please never try this. your gun will get fucked.
