I'll start: I like softshell functionality for a general cool/wet weather jacket, but I also like pocket space. Where can I find something like a softshell smock/parka?

I've been reading a lot of Skinwalker threads recently and I've noticed an unsettling amount of them take place near/in michigan. I'm going to Isle Royale National Park and Voyageurs National Park over the summer and was wondering what I should look out for (and what I should bring in defense), seeing as these locations are near many sightings and are rather remote.
I haven't completely bought into Skinwalker lore yet, but I'd like to know if there's been any spooky shit up there recently.

Needless to say we got the fuck out of there. Never found out what it was but it wasn't a bear or anything. Those were the biggest claw marks I'd seen in my entire life. This was a few years back, haven't been back since.

Anything using a pulley or recoil mitigation system usually ends up with freaky mag placement.
Some czech guns from the early autoloading days had this as i recall.

german anon here.
As you may guess I am concered about my safety and the safety of my loved ones.
I would like to purchase a knife for self defense.
German law allowes carrying of up to 12cm/4.7inches fixed blades and unregulated folders.
The folder must be opened with 2 hands OR it shouldnt snap in place automaticly.
I am ready to spend up to 50€/53$
Knifes can be bought on the internet quite easily here.
Any suggestions?

In terms of shotgun design, would a side-loaded magazine similar to what you see on a Sterling SMG?
And I don't mean "practical" or "intelligent", I just mean "functional". Like how would it affect shells (ideally brass cased) feeding since obviously this design was typically used on much smaller ammunition?

It's really only been used on rifles/SMGs as a result of early people not knowing that going prone is nowhere near as used as simply diving for cover.
This they put mags on the side to make things easier in prone, thinking "fuck off hand shooting" and throwing any sense they had out the window.

I'm working on a single shot firearm design and, while the trigger mechanism used by most single-shot firearms is quite simple, the notches in the hammer where the sear rests when in full or half-cock aren't features well suited to milling. Are you guys familiar with any interesting designs that are better suited for that manufacturing method? I'm not opposed to using a striker, either, as long as it's robust, safe and doesn't require EDM, waterjet or something.
