bought an aimpoint micro T-2 but I cant use it without glasses because of my astigmatism. Should I sell it for a lost and get an acog?
Sell all the things you dont need and but the Lasik surgery that you do need
>>33532940
I dont trust lasik surgery though.
>>33532954
It has been well perfected by now, don't be a pussy
I carry a glock 26. Most people I know who carry choose 9mm.
9 mil guns are so small these days and I really dont think .380 gives enough recoil reduction to justify carrying it.
I really cant think of a use for it, not even for small framed shooters.
>>33532879
>I really cant think of a use for it,
Then you obviously aren't thinking hard enough
>>33532918
Go on.

Good thing people who think of purposes for .380 aren't you, otherwise they may experience some sort of existential crisis.
Amazing how you can't think of a purpose, and yet Glock, Ruger, Kel-Tec, Seecamp, Smith and Wesson, SIG Sauer, and many more continue to sell them to people who just can't think of a reason to use it. In fact, Hornady can't think of any reason to produce XTP bullets, or perhaps Critical Defense loadings, I just don't get why Cor Bob still cranks out those 80gr JHP. The idiots at Federal just can't think of any reasons to keep on making Hydra Shoks either, but for some reason they just keep coming into my gun shop when I sell out of them.
Really activates my almonds ya know
Could anyone with a good of knowledge Mauser rifles please help me, I have recently noticed that of the front barrel band of my k98 is missing the first number of its serial number, mistake in production? Anyone know?

Can anyone identify what kind of knife is this? I know the sheath is Vietnam era but i can't find any picture of a knife with this handle.
The handle looks like the new German G36 bayonet, but it doesn't have a muzzle ring or the same blade profile.
The bayonet looks like either an M5A1 or M8A1 Can't remember which it is exactly. One of those designations refers to that sheath. I know because I own one of those for my bayonet and sheath for my Garand
The handle appears to be German or Austrian, the blade appears to be British and the Scabbard American.
Fascinating.
old one's down
nbc protection - what does /k/ think of it?

here's a few of the american masks in my collection (not shown with their carriers and accessories):

-1999-dated M40A2
what filter on the m40
>>33532543
for anyone that cares, go to home despot and get yourself a 3m full face respirator. the activated charcoal in a 40+ year old milsurp mask has long since gone inert.
OP, nice collection!
>>33532562
Original C2 (black one on left, green one is newer C2A1). The type that people warn of chromium toxicity. I have two that are unissued, so they should be fine to have around, but not use.
>>33532567
I actually have a 3m 7800s, it's a really nice mask, but a littlle on the uncomfier side. And thanks!
What has been the greatest shift in infantry combat in modern history ? I'm speaking of technological inventions and the impact they had on the way fighting is done. Was it breech-loaders ? Repeating rifles ? Smokeless powder ? What was the turning point where classical, close order, file and ranks formations were superseded by squad-based tactics and such things we use today ?
>>33532496
Machine guns
The bayonet, explosive artillery shells, the machine gun and tanks. In roughly that order.
>>33532496
Air strikes
Basically when infantry went from being the killer to the babysitter in firefights
Anyone have info on the mos 0313 LAV Crewman? Seems pretty cool but there is virtually no information on the interwebs about it. Halp me /k/
>>33532489
You go open contract 0300, they'll put you as 0311 or wherever they feel like, you do not get to choose beyond basic infantry. You could end up mortars too.
All I know is I kick ass driving LAVs in Project reality
>>33532489
It seems pretty cool, I knew a few people who went through the school.
You can also get it as a b MOS if you go in as any sort of 2600, which would be the smart thing to do.
Anyone else find shooting stressful?
Even at home sometimes I feel like I'm in 'range' mode. Alert, always worrying someone might shoot me, always feeling self conscious about whether I'm following the rules properly, wary of loud noises.
>>33532309
Do you ever get stressed out over other tasks that carry risk or require a lot of attention?
>>33532341
Not driving, but studying and meeting deadlines and stuff I find quite stressful yeah.
>>33532348
You probably just suffer from anxiety then. There's nothing about shooting that makes it relaxing, and to a lot of people with anxiety, the biological response to things that excite you (roller coasters, sex, and in this case, firearms) can be turned to irrational fear in the brain.
Anybody else super hard for the MSBS?
So the upper can fit onto the conventional or bullpup lower, we wouldn't be lucky enough to have the upper be the serialized part would we?
>>33531829
Should do it like Sig p320, and serialize the trigger group frame.
>>33531804
I would be if I hadn't filed it under the same folder as the Desert Tech MDR.
If it ever comes to the states I'll be excited. Until then I will continue lusting after guns that are actually here/actually stand a chance of being brought in country.
Hello /k/, /sg/ here.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bJw84eXALs
This is the hole moderate head choppers say was left by a bomb that was fired from an Su-22. Apparently it had a chemical warhead, which killed over 100000 gorillion innocent S*nni children.
Would a crater left on the ground by such a bomb be that small? Even bombs with chemical warheads explode, no?
>>33531716
whats /sg/?
>>33531727
Syria General, from /pol/.
>>33531716
Well it definitely wasn't a HE bomb, but it was bigger than a hand grenade. Mortar, perhaps? The chemical story is obviously bullshit.
What do you all think about steel casing?
>cheap
>works fine
>inb4 you have a shit gun
>>33531494
i use it at public ranges to piss off the reloading vultures
>>33531494
>>cheap
>>works fine
>>you have a shit gun
i agree with all of these things.
I've never had a problem with it in any of my rifles/pistols.
Only issue I've ever had with steel cases is with my AR. The steel casings have chipped some of the finish on the shell deflector, but I really don't care about that on my cheap ass no name shit.
And now he's hitting filthy SJWs back with a terrorist school.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tAP6yL-EdY8
What was it about this incident? We could tolerate shitheads like Philip DeFranco, H3H3 and Pewdiepie getting into slap flights with the WSJ because they're young Californians with lots of options in their lives who make shitty meta content mostly talking about youtube drama, but once Joerg Sprave got a strike on his channel, shit got real for everybody really fast. For all that I'm not really interested in slingshots - I even unsubscribed from him a year or so ago for not watching - seeing this guy in the crosshairs of the mainstream media really got my blood boiling. You just don't do that to someone as genuine as him.
>>33531482
>That whole video
Daily Fail utterly BTFO
Joerg's Jihad continues! Mashallah!
Glad he did nit sit back and let his reputation and channel be ruined by some hypocrite. I still hope her pursues libel charges but perhaps he's happy enough right now with this. Let it be a warning.
Also gives precedent for YouTube to reverse idiotic decisions like this (At least on larger channels) so they hopefully won't go after any others showcasing/testing weapons.
>>33531792
>Also gives precedent for YouTube to reverse idiotic decisions like this
They reverse strikes all the time. How new are you? They don't need "precedent" to do things. The Youtube community guidelines aren't common law.
Hey /k/, if there any K98 owners out there, I could use some help.
From research that I've gathered, it seems that a common problem for the K98s, due to their military style sighting, is for them to shoot high at <100 meters.
This is fine, and understandable, but mine seems to shoot low and to the right at <100 meters.
This is my first firearm, so please god be gentle, and I understand that this service rifle is over 70 years old. What should I try?
>>33531331
someone prolly filed down the front sight. either get a new front site blade, or raise your rear sight to the 200m mark.
>>33531341
Appreciate the advice, I'll try that whenever I head out to the range next.
>>33531331
addition:
just how <100m we talkin about here? becvause if you say ~50, its gonna be low, regardless if its zeroed correctly due to bullet trajectory arc.
What do yall think of ice picks as weapons?
