Duh. Flat grips makes for a smoother profile. Also they were often smaller caliber, so slides were slimmer and barrels shorter.

there are a very limited number of countries who can reach LEO, fewer that can hit a LEO target in a predictable orbit, let alone countries that could target and hit a fast-moving dynamic TIE. Our sats are TIE fighter food.

We also are greivously outmatched industrially. Our modern combat doctrine doesnt work on the Empire. Their logistics cant be touched. Our WMDs arent a major concern to them. MAD isnt in effect when they have a Death Star or Starkiller Base or any number of nasty weapons. They can pick the time, place, and method of attack, and we can only defend.

This is true for basically any interstellar species we'd go up against. They can take their time and pick off oil refineries, factories, hubs like the Pentagon, comms stations, ports, airports, etc, and we can literally do nothing to retaliate at the strategic level. Ffs the Empires solution to the Death Star blowing up was to just a build a bigger one over the course of like a year.

This is like asking if 1800s Japan could take on modern NATO

Why not... 42, Houston Texas. I grew up in Central Texas surrounded by Fudds and Bubbas. I started going on dove hunts when I was about 4, and retrieved birds until I was 6-7. Started with a .410 about then. I got a .30.30 (pic related) when I was 8 and started deer hunting. I have a small collection now and try to hit the range at least twice a month.

I used to take my 20ga 870 Wingmaster to school and leave it in the principal's office so I could go shoot clays with my friends after school.

It was normal for every house to have a shotgun or small caliber rifle next to the front/back door just in case, but nobody ever locked their doors.
