How do you get over the tedium of doing this while painting?
I've been trying to get into acrylic painting forever but am always turned off, as paint mixing and washing the brush after every colour probably takes up more time than actually painting.
Use a limited pallet.

This
aaaaanndd you should spend a good amount of time preparing your palette.
It sucks, and I hate doing it, but mixing certain skin colors and temperature variances off of it, mixing greens and browns before hand is suuuper helpful.
Try just using Zorn's palette for a while.
Yellow Ochre, Cadmium Red Medium, Ivory Black plus Titanium White.
Since all of you use social to publish / promote their works / drawings.
I finally decided to do it myself, but since I am social autistic in real life I am Also on the web.
For now I used it very simply log in, upload the image, add some hashtag and log off.
Then my stat are 0 follow and 0 like released the view or followers I get probably arrive by hashtag.
- 0 The people I have Followed in some way affects my view or followers?
- Having 0 likes released in some way affects my view or followers?
- People who write you for sharing follow, are useful?
Maybe the people who you released a like or follow to exchange follow, make you a view or released a like, but it is not useless?
it is only an increase of falsified statistics, They are not interested in your work and they will never ask for a commission, and you will never have a profits from them, or not?
In short the question is how the social media work? Help me to understand them and to understand Their netiquete.
>>2852701
You got it. Just: like, follow, comment others work.
If you have an advanced level you can produce brushes, tutorials, template that will drag a lot of people to you.
Also you have to know what kind of audience you want. Other illustrators are more interested in step by step work, but random people prefere a finished polished illustration they can use as a screensaver in exemple.
>>2852709
I take note
no one else have to give some advice?
Then simply I have to follow all registered users and put like at all the posts that are published?
Quantity is better than quality?

The best way to get any sort of a following is to pretend like you're friends with people and can be friends with anybody. Make yourself approachable, talk to people, make comments, strike up conversations. This kind of strategy really helps if you're mediocre. If you like people's posts on a website, send them a pm telling them how great they are; ask them questions about themselves since most people like to talk about themselves and their accomplishments. They might follow you back and then they'll see all your posts and possibly share them. This really helps if the other person is popular and you worm your way into their inner circle. You can also start out small and work your way in. Pick someone that's a friend of your target friend and build up a rapport with them and hopefully they'll introduce you to their friends or their discord after sometime.
Just a little side example, most of the people that browse creative don't want to look at good art, they want a cool friend to talk to because they're bored or lonely. People get attached to personalities, so you have to make one for yourself if you're lacking in that department. The whole personality thing is key, it's the reason YouTube celebrity is a thing nowadays.
When you make friends, they are more willing to support you than strangers if you want commissions.
If you have trouble talking to people, put on a work persona and pretend to be involved. If you can't do that, hire someone.
It's hard at first to start talking to people, but, use the text-based interface to your advantage. If people don't answer you, move on to the next person.
Done 1 year after the original Who Said What Art Show began, this piece is part of a quartet in which a new style of illustration was explored, making use of a more intricate background.
Frederick Douglass originally wrote this quote as part of an essay called "Reconstruction", which he originally wrote in December of 1866. The quote rings true to today.
>The quote rings true to today.
I agree. The abolition of slavery was worse than the Civil War.
The word "rebellion" needs to be replaced with "bloodshed" for the quote to not be fucking retarded. You can have a rebellion with very bad/misguided intentions.
He's young so he should take advantage of that fact and stick to art instead of shitposting so much. He's got the potential and the opportunity to make it if he can resist getting into an internet fight for 2 seconds.
He's an alright kinda dude.
>>2856533
He's a mediocre artist that cares way too much about himself and thinks that he's much better than he actually is. (even though he won't admit it).
He has potential if he strays from his comfort zone.
Any art, paintings, drawings, sketches, concept art of rooms, cityscapes streets etc.
Pic related is tekkon kinkreet, art book is amazing
I've been capping maison ikkoku on YouTube.
Just hold the on/off button and press the home screen button.
>get frustrated with practicing all the time and not getting any where
>try tracing and photobashing for fun
>"whoa hey that actually looks decent"
>spend hours doing this and tracing over stuff and just adding a few minor touches
>post on tumblr for the lulz
>go to bed
>wake up the next morning and check dashboard
>my traced art got a shit ton of likes and reblogs
>over 600 new followers
>message box flooded with people asking if I do commission work
>get a little nervous, but still continue because I wanted to see how far I could go
>this time get really into it and start tracing and photobashing as my primary method of art
>my "fans" love it
>eventually get depressed because I realize im a fraud and will never live up to that kind of skill that im fooling everyone that they think I have
>quit drawing and abandon that tumblr, haven't made anything since

What ways are there to earn some side-money with art? My hobby is sketching/painting architecture similar to pic related. I thought about selling prints with frames over a web-shop I could build but I have no idea if it's going to be worth it. Probably there is no demand at all. Do you think I should give it a try? Or is the only efficient way of making profit by creating a patreon account and make furry porn?
Do what you want. Don't sell out to furry porn. That's for shitty artists. If you get good enough there will be a following, even if it is small. Just gotta keep working.
Even if no one enjoys your work, you will. That's what matters. Art is supposed to be an expression of life.
>>2859450
>Art is supposed to be an expression of life.
The board isn't for fine art, but rather draftmanship and similar.
I second doing what you want. If you do it for fun (meaning you do it in your spare time and don't freeze up about "looking good to an audience" etc. too much) then you will make more stuff, pop up on people's feeds more, get a bigger audience, etc. See >>2858557
So I'm doing a painting for a dentist's office waiting room. I'm a little past a month late from when I told them it would be done. They paid in full and keep asking me if it's done. I'm broke so in the meantime I've been doing smaller projects to pay bills. They keep calling and leaving me messages asking when it will be done. How do I get them to calm down and relax. I need to pay bills, why can't they understand I had to take more work.
Not gonna make it.
How about you just fucking do the painting and give it to them?
>>2858811
As I said before I have to pay bills and I need money so I took smaller jobs to make some extra cash.
I'am trying to draw a person sitting just like the one in the drawing of the middle but with the perspective up. Can someone post one to help?

Post your current drawing here and provide helpful criticism and advice to others!
This is not a thread to discuss your autism, the rest of the board is for that.
Please make sure your posted image is clear, DOWNSIZED TO AROUND 1000 PIXELS WIDE, ROTATED TO THE CORRECT ORIENTATION, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one and then kill yourself.

there are proven weightlifting routines and exercises available that a person can follow to get swole.
Why is there nothing like this for drawing??? Despite having all this information available at your finger tips, and following advice from different sources, some people still don't really improve even after years of practice. Why is this?
Its not like they are learning from bad teachers.Reviews and testimonies exist, so you can filter out the good sources from shitty ones that will just waste your time.
>>2842385
>,some people still don't really improve even after years of practice. Why is this
They really aren't trying to get better. Improving involves conscious effort, focusing on specific areas, analyzing what you're seeing and what you're doing. Improvement comes from understanding. Simply repeating exercises won't make you improve.
Repetition will strengthen muscles, because that's how muscles work, but doing 1+1 over and over again won't teach you algebra.

Thanks for the bump I guess
