Crit me, /ic/, I'm sick and tired of constant spam and insults on my thread. Fuck all of you, you just can't admit that I'm better than your lazy asses and actually commit do drawing instead of making fun of people

thank you for making a thread for yourself.

What?
Does anybody else feel kinda gross for being able to use a computer to draw things? Admittedly, the one on the left still isn't very good, but jesus christ, it feels like cheating being able to take something that looks as abysmal as the thing on the left and be able to do anything with it. I remember watching the Bobby Chiu interview with Craig Mullins, and he mentioned that the footprint of the software designers is present in every painting we do, and that weighs on me because it highlights just how lacking in actual drawing skills anybody has to be to make something look halfway decent. At times, it makes me incredibly ill. Does anybody else feel the same? If you don't, would you care to explain why you don't feel that sense of guilt? I'd like to hear it from someone on the other side of this.
oh, and of course feel free to shit on the drawing. My ego could probably use several good kicks to the balls.
>>2860111
what??
How the fuck do you use computer to draw stuff.
Don't use a tablet or something.
>>2860114
Don't you use*
>>2860115
Yes I use a tablet.
I was referring more to the idea that the software is doing a lot of the heavy lifting, not the mechanical way in which digital artists draw.
How do we fix /ic/ guys? Why can't we have mods just like in the glory days of this board?
By ignoring shitposters.
These people react to (you)s, don't give them that.
It's what we can do here, while we wait for mods.
And you can also try the 4chan feedback to beg for mods, like I did, kek.
tripcodes enforced
>>2860035
This is one of the slowest boards on 4ch and it brings nothing of value to newcomers. Those few intermediate artists who become regulars are desperate attention whores. Most peope here are from /a/ and want to draw porn or manga.
Why not just get rid of it?
Need some critique on this; I usually stick with line art and character design shit so painting straight from life like this is new territory for me
your rendering (blending of colors) is bad. its bad specifically because you threw a bunch of low-opacity strokes on top of each other. chicken-scratch lines. just because youre painting doesnt mean you should stop making deliberate brush strokes, clean that up.
watch a video on rendering or something. ctrl paint has some but i think they make you pay for them
your color choices are nothing to write home about either, theyre pretty muddy but that might just have to do with all the black you didnt blend together well. i dont have your reference image, but put this next to it and really compare the two. did you really get those colors right or did you end up assuming what they were?
also you saved this as like a 30 quality jpg what the hell
>>2859987
hemerroid looks good here.
>>2859978
But this is actually good
I've always wanted to "be a creative" I have always been mediocre at best, cringe at worst. I'm not looking for "how to improve", but rather I want to know about you.
Answer all or none. I care, but I know your time is valuable. So, if a question interests you, please answer it. If it doesn't feel free to ignore it.

Before you guys ask yes I have read the sticky. I know it comes down to "practice practice practice", but "how to improve" is not what I'm asking. Wanted to "heed the rules" so feel free to critique my OP image that took 10000 hours in photoshop, but know that is not what I'm after.
Yes. Like two months now.
Like 8 months.
Different times calls for different motives.
Whatever I want to do.
Sure.
Implanting my vision onto a canvas.
Best it's ever been. None. Some, Nope.
/ic/ all day every day and draw.
Yeah, get old and your body doesn't want to do anything.
It makes me want to live.
You were right. You wanted this.
Fear.
Never giving up.

Thanks Anon, Appreciate the reply, saging out of courtesy.
>How do you self motivate?
A desire to organize tools and convey thoughts without the use of words, or without relying on one language.
>What do you do after you self motivate?
I arrange my implements on a desk like a flower arrangement surrounding my sketchbook.
>Do you want to "make it"?
You mean money? No. But I would like to aim for a 2,000 calorie diet.
>What does "making it" mean to you?
Self-completion.
>How is your social life? Friends? Family? Partner?
N/A
>Describe a day/week/month in the life of you
Collect reference and plan ahead. Draw.
>Does any part of your demographic qualities (age, gender, sexuality, etc) effect how you draw? If so How so?
Now that I'm older I can draw things that would have bored me before. A Prang Outlining pencil helps a great deal, as does the pen case. Being male, I tend to focus on female 'types'. I read battle-based manga, but prefer more domestic comics. I probably miss out on constructing more compelling characters because my aesthetic needs are still very centered around what's kawaii or popular.
>How does wanting to be "good at art" effect your life overall?
It sure does! ;/
>If you could go back in time 5 years, what would you say to yourself?
Buy an A4 Peter Pauper sketchbook. Get a wooden pen case. It's always the small stuff.
>What is your worst quality?
Willingness to read dry books over and over. A Mongolian sense of time, which is to say none at all. Disinterest in my immediate environment or in chores.
>What is your best quality?
Tremendous visual retention and synthesis.
>going to work
>be in bus
>get sketchbook
>look around in the bus
>see 9/10
>use 9/10 as ref.
>bus stops
>ref walks away

That's not even really bad.

>Planning to study arts and desing
I want to draw similar things to these image.
How much time it takes to make something like that? I know it's all about dedication but I want to know how much time it will take to get at level of these artist (I'm serching for his/her name)

Hi anons! I just want to share my bf's works. He works hard and spends a lot of time on them. He usually creates digital art but he's done a lot of pieces in the past that uses different mediums like painting and even working on a buggy. His art usually focuses on a subject with a twist and he works hard on details as well. I can say I'm really proud of his work :D I hope you guys love them too!
Recent work! It's for Australia Day :)
you can check out more on his IG account @zeppsiros

Am I the only one that thinks the concepts of "ocs" is fucking autistic... It's like PLZ DONUT STEAL MY IMAGINARY FRIENDS!!!! I feel like most people with them don't have a comic/animation or much of a story behind them besides possibly autistic daydreams in their head and roleplaying to make up for their lack of actual friends or romantic interests. Depicting them of perfect people they wish they were or they wish loved them its so fucking cringy when people with no life outside of deviant art their drawing go on and on about their ocs
deviant art tier drawings* not their
you honestly just sound like a really boring person with no original thought or fantasy
sure pic related is fucking cringy, but in this situation YOU are the weird one, not the other way around
nigger
What's wrong with some imagination, anon?
Who cares about what dA or Tumblr does with their OCs. They're having fun, even if it's "autistic". Why does it bother you?
Intuos draw medium or cintiq 13hd for a first time tablet, anyone have any opinions on either of these
