Know any artists that use the style? I can't find any.
I'm sorry if I sound like an idiot but the how to draw by Scott Robertson is ridiculously difficult to understand for me. I've been rereading it to grasp what's being presented but I feel so dumb.
That's because you are dumb, why are you reading instead of drawing?

Read a section or a page of that section. Draw what he drew. Try to reapply what he drew in different ways. Repeat until you grasp the lesson.

This, the whole thing isn't supposed to be consumed in one sitting. Read each concept he describes and practice it until you get it, then move on. It sounds like an unneccesary pain, but you'd spend more time going back and trying to figure out what you missed if you rush it
I have been checking phil noto's artworks for quite a while now, his artstyle has a mid-century minimalistic theme to them.I really loved it so I thought about learning how to paint like he does, failed miserably because I ended up making artwork look bright and colourful whereas his artworks are mostly subdued and has a retro feel to them.
how can I possibly mimic his style by only using water color or gouache?any help would be appreciated because the fact I can't mimic his style is really making me depressed.
bump :(

Hey guys. Inspired by this guy >>2859938 I'm starting my own thread where I'll be posting my stuff daily. It's not as good as mikejc's work but I hope you guys can help me out to become a professional. My goal is to work as a concept artist. All critiques welcome

This piece was made with paint sai using mouse. Sorry for the weird orientation, I pressed something and couldn't figure it out. I still don't have a tablet so its better than nothing. What do you guys think? Maybe I can color it later
So is this really against the rules or not?
>work in a place unrelated to art
>boss/coworkers ask you to make drawings for work related stuff
how do you react?

What kind of "drawings"?
>inb4 it's going to be done for free
Dilbert creator Scott Adams is worth $70MM or more. Yet I've never seen any of his real artwork, never seen his life drawings, never seen any proof that he knows his fundies.
Seth MacFarlane is worth $200MM or more. Yet I've never seen any of Seth's life drawings, or even any other drawings, beyond Family Guy & his related cartoons.
Is trying to get super realistic & master life drawing just a meme? What if I just wanna do comics in the style of Dilbert or Family Guy? Can I be semi-mediocre and still be OK at making the type of art I wanna make?
Note: I'm not saying it's cool to wanna plateau and not improve. But I don't wanna do super crazy realistic life drawing so I'd rather focus on what I do want.
And if people like Mike Judge(Beavis & Butthead), Stephen Hillenberg(SpongeBob), and Pen Ward(Adventure Time) can see success with their semi-decent art styles doesn't that prove that detailed life drawing isn't for everyone?
Or what about comics like Loading Artist or Owlturd? They're not very realistic and I've never seen them do life drawing, yet their comics are funny and popular. Honestly is life drawing just a meme? Why does everyone push "muh loomis" yet everyone on this board sucks?
Nothing wrong with aspiring to be a turd. It's not like normalfags can tell the difference. They think anything brown and mushy is chocolate pudding.
In my eyes you'll always be shit though ;)

P.S. My favorite animation is "South Park", I bought all seasons.

I think he just scribble shades.

not only
I always have ideas when it comes to drawing nice characters and monster designs but I never have any inspirations for anything other than that, What do I do ?
I look at nature, you know, go out and travel, I guess. Also, music, any kind of music really, but I really like soundtrack of games. There's also looking at other people's art, it strikes something deep within you that you want to convey as a response.
How do you get inspired to make this same gay thread with the same questions every week?
Group of 2 people making flat design science videos, tell me what you think of them. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCenT6s40LLU2yBNxZjmMFwA

>animated science channel.
Subbed
But your flash work is fine. Anything more complex, and you'all be spending two months on one three minute long video.
Good luck trying to advertise the channel. Most of the famous YouTube science channels have sponsors and are actually owned by an even larger group.
Try contacting other popular channels like D-News, Crash Course, Sci-Show, VSauce, and Kurzgesagt. See if they can possibly mention you in their credits or work with you on one of their videos. Your channel seems to be about quick, light facts, so advertise it as such try to stick to your niche for a while.
Good luck.
Let's all make our own influence map! Pic related is the template, I will share mine and am curious what other peoples influence are!
contemporaries at the top the rest obv not
I take nuts and bolts from everyone that pops up on my feeds, really but these are the ones I keep going back to.
Like shadows of shadows, ghosts with film strips,
Past faint trapped in old slide mother
Sitting still in the apartment when sifting more photos
He was a sense of hope before, a child they were surrounded.
"It is a pity"
And, I am afraid that fate is on the street while the topic let me sleep.
He says: "I am involved and giving life.
Fraying, cutting, and late with rent. When
Now, nothing is meaningless except for benches and pianos,
When I press a chord, my feeling of order is coming. "
And he plays,
And it swells and breaks, but what it takes time to make sounds like my life.
But this time he is fulfilling it, lively
I come through windows and outside.
And even he may admit some melodies to it, but then can not he harmonize for some reason?
This is how the city got its own song, but he can not play together.
He sees music, as they fly, but always plays them wrong.
And it gets fuzzy, distorted, and gains heat in the bathroom
As a light bunker, he pushed orange in push
His hand. She falls on the floor, with a smile, as she gets along
"It sounds a bit like a tool."
With the sound of choir, and the drum beat ham of life as an art form etc.
Phantom Baton Troll, keep on moving us in silence Fire in the city,
I will keep pushing the pace of our feet.
And all people who seem to fit better in the choir do not notice singing
And when you think that they can not find it to finally hear torture by chords
The method sings.
When you sing the wrong things, everything starts to fall apart.
It began to sound like heard, crashing on noncompetitive notes as feedback starts to decline
But it does not feel they are consistent with each other.
There are melodies around,
I tried to find harmony,
It seems that nothing moves,
It seems to fit anything.
There are melodies around,
I tried to find harmony,
It seems that nothing moves,
I do not fit anything.
that's a nice poem anon
you can put it on the fridge
Be honest with me, what are your thoughts? Don't hold back. Balls to the wall. I can take it.
Post shit like this in the beginner thread.
Read the sticky and do the things it asks of you.
Practice instead of instantly looking of approval.
Pointing out specifics would be a waste of time because it is all bad. Everything from the stiff and off balance pose, the poor understanding of anatomy, weird stylistic choices, generic anime design, shit rendering and so on.
>>2865910
Approval? I'm not looking for approval. I'm looking for other people's eyes.
>>2865914
>getting hung up on words
My point was that actually make an effort before looking for people to give their two cents.
