It's explained in the last 2 comments.
How is it dangerous? You need root privileges to start system services. If someone is in a position to start or edit those files for you, there is no need to "exploit" this.
It's also explained what happens when the username is non existent and when it's "invalid".
I downloaded a Windows iso, used dd to burn it to a usb drive, but it won't launch, even when the bios recognises there's a usb drive in.
I have Linux installed, could it be because of that? Should I format the drive first?
I wanted to have Windows and Linux but installed Linux first.
What's the name of this type of architecture diagram?
Please be specific.
Thanks!

Your SYSWOW64, or some part of it most likely got fucked.
Run sfc /scannow to try to repair it, or reinstall Windows.
In /csg/, we discuss the cheap shit you see on Gearbest, Taobao, AliExpress, Banggood, eBay and similar sites.

Copy paste from last thread as I seem to have posted at the very end of the thread.
Looking for a SSD to replace my MX100 240GB which has the random BSOD and disappear from BIOS bug even on the latest firmware, drive health is 85% with 22267gb writes.
Getting fed up and thinking of replacing it.
Options are.
Samsung 850 EVO 250GB for $115
KingDian S280 240 for $85
Netac N530S 240GB for $76
Kingston V400 240GB for $90
PNY Phantom-1 240GB for $95
Out of the above list the Kingston V400 is the only model that can be found locally.
PNY doesn't sell the Phantom in my country so no warranty on that.
Samsung doesn't sell SSDs at all in my country so no warranty on that, but the 850 EVO gets good reviews and is on almost every SSD ranking/chart/review, but it's by far the most expensive and I wonder if it is worth it.
KingDian and Netac are chinese SSDs that have me second guessing myself.
I just want to have a SSD that will be more durable than the MX-100 I currently got, I'm satisfied with the speeds, just the random BSOD from dropping out fucking annoys me.
What do I do?
>>61184826
So the good reviews alone aren't worth the extra price if it's without warranty?
Anyone here have had the KingDian for a few years or with decent amount of write to their drive?
cheap microphone that does not require phantom power?
An utility to search for duplicate/similar images on local machine? I need to clean up my porn collection.
I want something intuitive that finds similar images in a directory and and pops up a prompt for each group of similar images that lets me compare them visually and select one. I am using GNU+Linux computer operating system.

Ok /g/, how the fuck can I switch from GTK file picker to KDE file picker
This shit is driving me insane already
By installing Firefox with the KDE patch, it also annoys the shit out of me.
>>61184700
How can I do that, can you help me?
Most of the time I just ./configure make make install
I have no idea how to apply these patch, even after searching google

Does NASA know about aliens?
Is Anonymous a shadowy group of autists?
Why can't the aliens figure out how to visit us?
Would aliens talk to our leaders, or pick some random guy up and stuff shit up his ass?
Is there a government coverup?
Could aliens be so alien, they don't have any context to relate to our concepts of culture?
Aliens.. they know what we're saying. Does that mean they know what a president is?
We don't understand Dolphin language.
wtf did I just watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ri0Gwe7x3A
The first radio transmission was what ~100 years ago? If someone intelligent was within 100 light year distance, we would have heard something from them, not necessarily as replies to our transmission but rather their own transmission. So we assume they are beyond 100 light years. The problem with such assumption is the further they are, they would see what earth was more than 100 years ago. Continuing this argument, we may say they might be seeing dinosaurs on earth from their telescope or just volcano in primitive earth or no solar system at all. Reply to this post or youre mom dies in sleep tonight. So they might not even be interested to look towards sun.
>>61183359
Radio transmissions would be extremely faint on such distances, not to mention the receiving end would have to tune into a specifically small area of their sky.
>>61183472
Yeah, but that's what astronomers do.
Oh, and it's better than Windows 7.

What's your favorite monospace font?

It always feels weird how the horizontal bar for the 't' and the 'f' isn't at the same height in Consolas.

Don't really have any. If it's readable I just stick with the default

I use "DejaVu Sans Mono for Powerline". It looks nice at small sizes in my terminal. Powerline for muh vim status bar memes
This thread is about the appreciation of horology, as well as the micro-engineering and materials engineering that are required to make a fine watch, clock, or other timepiece.
