All right, I finally made a switch from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Now tell me how to permanently move to Linux. Which one should I use?
At this point in my life I honestly believe only a genocide can save the world from Microsoft.

Install Gentoo
So /g/, maybe you could share a bit of your experience and help me choose between Void and Slack. I've been using Arch for some years now, but I'm really sick of systemd and the way things are heading over there. By far the most sane distros I've tested were Gentoo, Slack and Void, but I enjoyed the last two the most.
So, what do voiders and slackers have to say about their distro? Slack seems pretty easy to handle with sbopkg/slakpkg+, and the only issue I had with Void was the lack of packages.
Just change systemd to init in arch..?
I like you OP. You think a lot like me. I'd personally go with Slackware over Void. It really depends on the hardware and the reason for the install. Just use both imo.
>>61194398
I use slackware and find no problems regarding it. Never used Void tho.
Bought a GS8+ after my iPhone 5s crapped out.

e.g. ones that are written in python, which therefore requires python to be compiled and built using make
Next time, don't hire poo.

Hey /g/,
So I've had a few basic IT jobs, but I've been looking for something that will pay me a bit more than I'm making now. I don't have any of the certifications that a lot of the places I've been looking at strongly prefer (A+, MTA, Network+ etc).
Is there any way of finding a job that will pay for me to get these, or am I gonna have to shill out of pocket for these fucking things?
It's easier to get a job if you already have entry level certs.
>>61194133
It depends how young you are. I have heard of some companies hiring people right out of college that will pay or compensate you for certs. Other places may make a deal were they hire you on the basis that you have to get the cert within a timeframe.
>>61194374
That's what I've heard as well. Pretty young, but haven't finished college yet. Might just shell out for A+, just so I have something to start with
What's the best web browser for windows hands down, features and speed considered, as well as privacy?
>>61194120
The Firefox family for sure. Tor, IceCat, Waterfox, or even just plain Firefox are all great.
>>61194139
+1 for waterfox
Safari doesn't exist in Windows, they haven't updated it forever, it's only on software archive sites

Slow, congested, and heavily patrolled by the copyright cartel and busybody school administrators. Get a seedbox and a VPN, they're affordable even on starving-student budgets.

So I'm building my first PC. Is this a good first build? I don't want anything too crazy, I want to be able to play any vidya game on it though, at least with the console counter-part tier graphics or above. Also probably recording gameplay, maybe livestreaming at some point.
