I am 6'1" and 235.6 pounds. Think typical old-man who used to be a wrestler (wrestled since I was five until I was 24). Then I stopped and got fat.
I am 24% body fat. I have wide shoulders.
I have worked out 3-5 times a week for three months now--just aimlessly mostly because I don't know much.
I do one day arms and chest, one week back, one week legs...followed by 15 mins on the treadmill. I really don't have much of a plan.
I started working out after having pulled my back out -- now my core is strong and my back is feeling good. I have two kids so I want this..
Online is too confusing for me. so many diets. programs. what is right, wrong.
I am looking for a routine for eating right, working out, and any supplements I should take.
My goal right now is to reach 15% body fat in the next six months-- but what I am truly going to be focusing on is learning how to eat better, how to train better, and how to live better.
Do you guys have a plan I can follow strictly to maximize gains and efficiency in losing weight while maintaining or growing my muscle? Thanks.
Try killing yourself if you have two kids and can't figure out how to eat less.

Who is your enabler, /fit/?
Who thinks they're helping but just sabotages the progress you're trying to make?
i am
>>41064394
My autism
I'm skinny af and looking to supplement my workouts and diet with protein powder. Will just any whey protein at Walmart be ok? Are there any that don't have a lot of sugar?
JYM from Bodybuilding.com is my go to protein, tastes like a vanilla milkshake.
>>41064037
Anyone have recommendations on powders I can find at Target or Walmart or is that a bad idea?
>>41064016
Just eat more lean carbs bro
not bad for a over 50. Isn't it?
>>41063966
Why are you browsing 4chan grandpa?
oh, you can fly with your ears boy?
How much weight does /fit/ think the average guy can bench press?
For the first time? Unironically 1/2 plate
>>41063973
Yeah say the average guy ends up in a gym and tries to do a 1 rep max bench how much do you think they'd lift
>>41063959
135
To be truly /fitlit/, a beard with a great physique is a must.
>Why a beard?
Every great philosopher has had one. Socrates, Marcus Aurelius, and Plato. A beard is one who aspires to achieve great wisdom. Beardlets, I am sorry to inform you, but you can never achieve /fitlit/ without a distinguished beard.
Nope.
Beards are just a way to hide a shitty jawline.
Loud-shouty claims to "manliness" to hide this fact.
Go away jawlet.
>>41063870
Be gone beardlet!
>>41063850
>Chinlet detected
You know what big beards are great for? Covering up a weak chin.
If you're blessed with great chin genetics why would you want to squander them by hiding it?
Where do you go if you failed at lifting and didn't make it?
>can only do behind the back deadlift and behind the back rack pull
>all other lifts are snap city
Please don't try and goad me into getting better either. I've been failing at this for a long long time. Yes, I'm a stupid retard. No, your insults and advice won't change it I've heard and tried everything.
Where's the barbell meme routine for failures?
>can only do hack squats
Tell me your issue?
>>41063843
>I've heard and tried everything.
How about seeing a physical therapist?
>Where's the barbell meme routine for failures?
Load a lmao4pl8 bench and unrack it
>>41063864
I feel like if I keep doing hack pulls my muscles will become horribly imbalanced and get injured as a result

I'm going to try this.
Can the /lit/ of /fit/ help me out with discerning what philosophical school of thought you guys ascribe to, and how I should feel?
I am at an moral impasse when I find myself thinking about why I lift. I'm sure much of you hold the same hatred of 'selfie culture' when it comes to people (woman being especially guilty of this) existing in a culture that not only allows but seems to perpetuate this idea of being vapid and vain and self promoting yourself. Obviously knowing that you can, at any time, have validation, much moreso if you are an attractive woman, from perhaps hundreds of people at any given moment with a selfie or picture of yourself via your camera and an upload to Instagram, cannot be a healthy mentality or action to exercise regularly.
However, I would be lying if I said that I am not lifting for the social benefits that come from it, such as admiration, sexual attraction, etc. Of course, my main reason to lifting is obviously health and wellness, as well as perfecting the male physique for the sake of personal progress. Does that make me a hypocrite? Is it wrong of me to make fun of vain women who have nothing to offer but their looks on an instagram page, while I also somewhat get excited at the idea of being admired by many people as well?
How do you guys feel about this?
Max Stirner. Although you probably wont want to lift after because then lifting would be a spook.
>>41063561
Just ask yourself, what would Marcus Aurelius do
>>41063561
Stoicism is pretty conducive to fitizenry, especially the Ancient Greek fitizens that had to earn their fitizenship by soldiering instead of birth
how do i overcome social anxiety?
>>41063458
By being social
Just be confident bro.
Relentlessly do things that scare the shit out of you. If your nervous about talking to girls, talk to 100 girls a day until the anxiety disappears.
I'll go first: AxAxAxx
A: Squats - 8 sets of 3
Benchpress- - 6 sets of 6
BentoverBarbellRow -4 sets of 8
Retarded as fuck/10
Looks like you got memed by the sticky
This must be bait.
>no decent shoulder work
>no decent lat work (he probably thinks rows are a lat exercise)
>limited hamstring work.
>>41063405
Works fine for me. What's so bad about it?
>>41063408
Lats and hamstrings are very much engaged I can tell you.
shes a 6/10 virgin. stop putting pussy on a pedestal.
>>41063330
fuck if shes 6/10 then the girl im talking to is...........
>>41063532
>thinking Kerr is a 6/10
>calls others virgins
Why do people who lift always end up fat?
How do I get fit and not get fat when I hit age 35?
Seems like the only good looking athletic people over the age of 35 are those that do cardio mainly and not lifters
>in college
>Everyone tells me over and over that you just fucking balloon in size/weight after you graduate and hit 25 years old
>As if it's some sort of unavoidable prophecy that you'll become fat
>Just turned 26
>Have an office job
>Still aesthetic
I really hate this self-enabling mindset everyone has about gaining weight as an adult.
The people that say that are the people that eat big to get big. Problem is that they never stop eating big..
People get fat when they get gf/wife or lose all hope.
Till then you stay hungry.
>"You go to the gym, Anon? The best thing about this job is I never have to go to the gym. It keeps me in shape."
labor/trade workers who actually eat healthy are fit as fuck. most don't tho
Even the ones who don't are still strong and big, just fat.
>>41063225
nice timBs B
