I worked out for two hours yesterday with 90% of it being cardio, and I didn't go over my daily calories, yet I still gained a pound. I'm so infuriated because I feel like I did something wrong.

Abstinence for 3 weeks increases testosterone in healthy men [17]. Which is good, considering average testosterone for us guys has been dropping by about 1% per year for the last 30 years [18].
Sex (not orgasm) increases testosterone by up to 72% [19,20]. Sex-related thoughts boost it too. I had a lot more of both when I abstained – my sex drive was off the charts.
Abstinence can also lead to greater life satisfaction and, oddly, more attention from women. No studies for these, but there is a lot of personal and anecdotal evidence.
Controlling how often you climax can also lead to unprecedented motivation. A coaching client of mine made a deal with his wife that he wouldn’t ejaculate until he made $100,000 – a whole lot of money for him, at the time. He was $100,000 richer in under 30 days. His ambition and productivity went through the roof. He credits his success to abstaining.
>>41540912
I had a similar increase in motivation. I tried three different ejaculatory control experiments:
The Taoist equation
Your 8th grade math teacher wasn’t lying when he said algebra is sexy. Ancient Chinese Taoism has an equation for “optimal sexual power:”
(Age – 7)/4 = X
Plug in your age. The number you get for X is the number of days you should go between ejaculations. A 39-year-old man, for example, would ejaculate every 8 days.
I followed this equation for several weeks, tracking my perceived quality of life and sex drive. Both were significantly higher when I was only climaxing every 8 days.

>>41540918
The 30-day challenge
Go a full month without ejaculating, but have as much sex as you want, with yourself or with a partner. Just stop before you finish.
This one is difficult to do. I also got the most benefits from it. I saw the highest increase in life satisfaction, my sex drive went through the roof, and I was phenomenally productive. I also got a LOT more attention from women, both my wife and otherwise, although I didn’t track it because I wasn’t expecting it.

30-day challenge: monk mode
Go a full month with no sexual stimulation at all. Don’t even touch it.
The normal 30-day challenge is tough. This one is much, much harder (no pun intended). I don’t recommend it unless you’re looking for an exceptional test of willpower. With monk mode, I still got happier and more productive as the 30 days went on, but the increase was smaller than it was with the normal 30-day challenge. I also saw shrinkage. About 20%. Use it or lose it, I guess. Fortunately, the length came back when I started having sex again.

>progressively overloading on leg curl machine
>hamstrings are actually getting noticeably bigger and more muscular
I thought you guys said these meme machines don't build muscle or do anything at all
>>41584231
All machines are equal, but some are more equal than others
Nobody ever said they are useless. Just use them as additional work for your legs. Dont substitute your squats with them.
how would forcing your muscles to contract against some form of resistance not cause hypertrophy and strength gain
meme machines don't do anything at all if you're a 14 inch armed /fit/izen or /r/fitness user who drinks a gallon of milk a day and only does ""The Big 4"""
Who here /always tired/ ?
I thought that getting fit would help but I still need like 11 hours sleep to even half manage though the day
>>41584144
Bump. I'm losing weight but am still constantly tired.
>>41584144
>>41584169
probably a combination of mouth breathing during sleep/sleep apnea and depression
>>41584144
I'm not always tired, but I'm usually pretty tired by the end of the workday so I find it difficult to workout.
Doesn't really matter how much sleep I get, it's always either too much or too little.
Anyone here ever drink soylent?
I've thought about using it to bulk, drink a serving in between meals.
Per serving
>400 kcals
>20g protons
>$1.50
>reviewbrah gave it an 8.8/10
how about simply eating bigger meals ?
>>41583801
No one drinks Soylent here
No one drank it the first time you posted
No one drinks it now
No one will ever drink it as long as you post it
It's not good, it'll never be good, eat real food, kill yourself
Just do a diy shake.. milk, banana, protein, peanut butter ,oats. much better and cheaper
how the fuck do i uphold a conversation, /fit/? biggest social obstacle right now; confidence, looks, etc aren't a problem, but i don't know how to keep a conversation alive for more than a minute unless the other person's carrying the weight. what do you do?
>>41583558
Where do you get stuck the most?
Try to describe how you converse with the average stranger for a minute.
>>41583558
Just ask simple inoffensive questions. What do you do? What type of music do you like? Do you play any sports? Just initiate a conversation with something simple and it should flow from topic to topic
You'll find that most people lack social skills.
I'm not the best myself, but when I do find someone who has REALLY good social skills we can talk forever without any awkward pauses.

>wake up at 1pm

>lets me finish on her face
>go home and eat dinner at 2am

Neet life is so fucking good.
I wake up at 8 am. Go to college at 9:30 and then straight to work. Don't get back till 10pm. Workout then Sleep. Rinse and repeat bby. It's great....
>>41583548
Well...that's...unfortunate..
I usually go to the gym at 12am or 1am. Take about an hour nap before I go since I'm coming home from work that late. Then go home, sleep and work the afternoon shift.
I have a question, /fit/
If calories in and calories out are all that matter, and everything is either protein, fat, carbohydrate or ethanol, then why is 'clean eating' encouraged and praised and everything? I mean, if I want to lose weight, I should eat 2380 calories with 160g protein, 60g fats and 300g carbs. Why does it matter if this comes from sugar or from a potato? Why does it matter if I have 7 scoops of protein as opposed to a load of chicken?
I feel like I'm missing something really obvious here. I get that fruit and vegetables are filling and stuff but TECHNICALLY there is no real reason to eat them. You could bring up micronutrients, sure, but that means shit all when it comes to how you look.
Is clean eating really as big a joke as it seems?
>>41583265
Anyone who thinks "calories in calories out" is all there is to it is a joker
>>41583265
No fucking idea. I've dropped from 235 to 211 in less than two months by just doing flexible dieting. It's not making me healthy, but I am seeing tangible results. I'm not sure how clean eating would affect my weight loss, but yeah. Just do you and keep getting gains man.
Here is last night's dinner
Whole steamed cauliflower, eggs + egg whites, cucumbers, tomatos, raw garlic clove, 1L of water
This is how you should eat if you want to look better, feel better and be aesthetic. This is the equivalent of putting race fuel in a Ferrari, while you're out there running on regular gas
>1 bottle of pepsi fire 20oz
>1 can of Arizona
>2 chocolate candy bars
>one gatorade whey bar
>4 servings of doritos bag
>1 bag of trolli gummys
>3 sticks of laffy taffy
im gonna kill myself
>>41583244
That sucks bro, just remember how much of a fatass you are next time you wanna binge
>>41583244
Those macros sucks as its just sugar and shitty doritos carbs. next time do a cheat meal instead with healthy food.
>>41583257

The greatest powerlifting shoe of all time is discontinued. What buy?
These were like upgraded chucks.
>inb4 Crossfit
It's just Crossfit branded but it was a shoe that was loved by many powerlifters.
>inb4 get Oly shoes
Raised heels are garbage.
Bump
Also looking for a decent shoe for all-around lifting. Raised heels are a negative for some lifts and I'm tired of seeing "just get Chucks lol"
>>41582689
Get PF Flyers. Shoes guaranteed to make a kid run faster and jump higher.
>>41582474
Agreed, anon. I thought they were a meme shoe at first, but when I saw them for $30, I had to give them a shot. I'm glad I did - I love them. I then bought two extra pairs. I'm good for awhile.
So I just began lifting I'm on day 3 now and haven't really changed my diet much I started taking muscle milk after lifting that's about the only diet change. I started at 315 and now I'm already down to 301lbs. My goal is to get back to what i was when I was an athlete a couple years ago so I can join the army (220lbs). Any suggestions on what a poor man can eat to lose weight. Most of my money is put towards rent and electricity and my Planet Fitness membership.
