how did bodybuilders in the 60s/70s deal with estrogen sides when AIs weren't even invented??

Did they just use SERMs? If it worked for them then why can't we do it now?

Their dosages were much lower than today
>>
>>42304228

they were still way above TRT doses so high E2 would be an issue.

Anyone have an answer?
>>
Good genetics, the ones that got bad estro sides didn't get popular because it was more about the whole aesthetic back then, and so having acne or gyno was a death sentence

>tfw weak joints

Quit being a weak cunt.

I weighed 500lbs at 17, and you can bet your faggot ass my joints screamed at me, veins did too as they were pre-varicose.

However, I was 200lbs by 19-20, and I now have no loose skin at all at 25. All because I didn't fucking give up and bitch out.

Don't be a sad cunt, ignore the pain.

Or, you can stay berrypicker as fuck.

How often do you shower?
Do you shower before bed, when you wake up, after a workout?
What kind of showers do you have (hot, cold, fast, long) and what do you use in them (soaps, hair shit, skin shit)?

I've been pulling my shit together and taking a shower every night before bed, but have heard stuff like daily showers could be bad for you and cold showers could be good for you in the past. I don't trust random articles I found looking shit up because they are the usual tabloid shit, so I'd like to ask what works best for you personally.

Once a day, ice cold shower for 10 minutes.
>>
i am a sweaty man.
if going to work or uni, shower every morning or feel grubby. if its a weekend i won't feel clean until i shower but if im doing something to break a sweat or swim i'll save shower for after that.
usually take warm long showers. not a fan of scalding. great when morning shit finishes in time for a quality shower, sucks if morning shit isn't ready and have to shower first.
coldshowers can be exhilarating but i don't do them often. they really get some adrenaline flow though.
soap or bodywash, shampoo and conditioner. maybe shave face in shower with conditioner if can be arsed.
should use a facial scrub for blackheads but i don't

Before bed.
I like to be clean when i get under the sheets.

Has anyone on this board seen significant improvements in mental health following lifting?

I've been having a bad episode of anxiety lately and lifting has really seemed to help. The only problem is I can't really make any serious gains because I'm getting about 4 hours sleep a night.

are there any fruits that are bad for weightloss?

i have a sweet tooth but while on a diet, i get my kicks with fruits, but i feel like there is a catch to them, they cant taste good and be good for you and not hurt your weight loss.

Fruit = carbs = sugar = insulin = fat synthesis and storage

Fruit, not even once
>>
>>42303022

Certain fruits like bananas, dates, and most dried fruits are pretty calorie dense. Most other fruits don't have many calories.

>>42303074

Nothing about this is scientifically accurate

>Weight loss diets often recommend targeted restriction of either carbohydrates or fat. While low fat diets were popular in the latter part of the 20th century, carbohydrate restriction has regained popularity in recent years with proponents claiming that the resulting decreased insulin secretion causes elevated release of free-fatty acids from adipose tissue, increased fat oxidation and energy expenditure, and greater body fat loss than restriction of dietary fat (Ludwig and Friedman, 2014; Taubes, 2007, 2011; Westman et al., 2007)

>The experimental diets were designed such that they were 30% lower in calories than the baseline diet (Table 2) and the reduced carbohydrate (RC) and reduced fat (RF) diets led to selective reductions in carbohydrate intake, and fat intake, respectively, whereas protein intake was practically unchanged from baseline
>Note also that the RF diet did not have a decrease in sugar content compared to baseline (Table 2). This was important since a decrease in sugar content with the RF diet would be expected to decrease insulin secretion despite no change in total carbohydrate content compared to baseline. As a result, only the RC diet resulted in a 22.3±7.0% decrease in daily insulin secretion (p=0.001)
> Therefore, the experimental reduced-energy diets resulted in substantial differences in insulin secretion despite being isocaloric.
Result:
>This study demonstrated that, calorie for calorie, restriction of dietary fat led to greater body fat loss than restriction of dietary carbohydrate in adults with obesity. This occurred despite the fact that only the carbohydrate restricted diet led to decreased insulin secretion and a substantial sustained increase in net fat oxidation compared to the baseline energy-balanced diet.

Can I (female, 5'0", 100 lbs., skinnyfat) ever carry a 65 - 95 lbs. dog on my shoulders? If so, what exercises do I need to do to be able to do it, and how long will it take me to be carry-ready?

I'm getting a large breed puppy in a few months and would like to have this skill available to me.

There are three ways to carry a dog over your shoulders:
>1. Like pic related.
>2. Body parallel with your shoulders and both dogs' legs and arms laying on the chest area (like wearing a boa).
>3. Like 2, but (for example) the dog's left arm and left leg are on the carrier's back, helping to support its weight and stay balanced. I hear this is the safest and easiest.

Why?
>>
>>42302780
In case of emergency, like if it gets injured on a hike or is too sick to get out of the house and into the car on its own to go to the vet. Muzzling it, of course.

>>42302780

might be placebo as I have not looked into any studies, but It helps with recovery and tightness for the next day if you do after lifting. Course maybe basic stretching works just as well.

along with everybody else,
you're fine.

I need to be able to do a mile and a half run in 16m 34s by August 18th. So far, I can easily make a mile in 10 minutes, but that extra half mile is just 30 seconds short of my goal.

Do I have enough time to get better at this? I normally run 5 days per week. Would going every day help?

>>42302587
What do you do when you run? Just go for as long as you can or what? Every day won't help btw. Some rest is necessary
>>
>>42302615
On the treadmill I use, it shows a display of a track. I always run most of each lap around said track at 6mph and then lower the speed to 3mph for the last curve. (To give myself a mini break.)
>>
>>42302587

Keep eating em! 1-2 brazil nut and some tiger nuts also helps.
>>
>>42302583
macadamia nuts are packed with healthy fats and they are essential to making test.
brazil nuts are also food containing highest amounts of selenium, great at helping make testosterone
but you can overdose acutely or chronically.
you could probably take 5 or 6 a day and will be at the "safe" upper limit of selenium (recommended daily allowance is a dyel + old woman measurement)

Started lifting November last year. Went from ~110 kg (240lbs) to 93 kg(205 lbs) today at 188 cm (6'2") while doing stronglifts.

Now here's the problem, every single lift other than my squat stalled around February and has been the same ever since, even after several deloads and recovery.

Current lifts are:
Squat: 140kg 5x5
Bench: 77.5kg 5x5
OHP: 59kg 5x5
Row: 87.5kg 5x5
Deadlift: 135 kg 1x5 :(

I just deload my lifts every time there's a significant form breakdown for multiple sessions even if the weight seems to be moving (had some injuries in the past). And my back just rounds up like a cat way too easily when pulling conventional, so I switched to sumo 2 months ago. I'm able to stick to the form much better with sumo, but the weight still isn't going up at all.

Also, I get my gym partner to form check me along with a ton of mirrors in the gym, so I'm not quarter squatting either, it's just a little below parallel.

So, fit, what the fuck is wrong with me? Shouldn't my deadlift be much higher than my squat?

So you're cutting and hit a wall?
>>
>>42302481
Yeah, I'm cutting and hit a wall, but what's up with the squat to deadlift ratio?
>>
>>42302490
Don't know about your ratio but you hit a wall because you're cutting. You need to bulk to see further progression. If you still want to lose more weight, continue what you're doing to maintain muscle through your cut.

I know there are hundreds of threads like this every day

but i've been lifting on average every four days consistently for the past six months. I haven't really noticed any big changes in my body. I've recently been going a lot harder in routine and doing two hours of gym six times a week. Eating healthy foods, sugar is generally gotten through fruits.

Should I take testerone pills or something? I can't grow arm pit hair and i'm always afraid im just going to be stuck with this skinny fat boyish body. It's been eating at me lately.

I do inclined benches, dumb bells, squats, squat machine, running, hex squat, machines etc. Do i just need to continue a more vigorous work out?
